GrandesBollas Posted January 29 Posted January 29 i wonder if this explains why I couldn't upgrade from 591.59 to .74 or .86 without my 5090 thinking it was in a thin and light laptop. Turning off Hardware acceleration which I didn't even know was on or an item since it was buried in settings fixed the problem, at least for now.
Papusan Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 People don’t trust Windows or Microsoft Microsoft reportedly admits Windows 11 went off track, cuts back Copilot, and promises real fixes in 2026. Trust in Windows has eroded for predictable reasons, such as the persistent bugs, poor update quality, and basic functionality getting worse. 1 "The Killer" ASUS Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! Papusan Posted Tuesday at 08:37 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:37 PM Windows 11 shutdown bug confirmed: KB5073455 blamed NVIDIA confirms serious gaming issues after the latest Windows 11 update: black screens, artifacts, and crashes with its RTX cards If there's one thing that can be said about Microsoft this year, it's two things: errors upon errors with Windows 11 and a clear shift towards public "mea culpa," promising to fix everything wrong with the OS. How Microsoft ruined the reputation of Windows 11 Windows 11's reputation is at an all-time low. Microsoft promises to fix it, but doesn't address the core problems. Papusan Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago More hardware will be shuffled into the landfill. Because Microsoft have no love for older hardware if used with their latest and greatest OS ever. Microsoft purges Windows 11 printer drivers, putting millions of devices on borrowed time Microsoft is preparing a major change to how printers are supported in Windows 11, pulling the plug on drivers that primarily support older hardware. Beginning with a non-security update that was released on January 15, Microsoft will no longer support legacy V3 and V4 printer drivers, which were announced as deprecated in September 2023. Now that support has officially ended, users of printers that rely on V3 or V4 drivers may find that their printers fail to install or stop working altogether. Microsoft, however, notes that most users will be unaffected because most newer printers use driver architectures. For those who do run into problems, Microsoft recommends that users contact their printer manufacturer and update to a supported driver or upgrade to a more modern printing solution.
