martin778
Hi all, Does anybody know if the 8770W take 1866MHz DDR3L RAM like the G.Skill 1866MHZ CL10 Ripjaws? It has a 3840QM but planning to install a 3940XM and install 4x8GB 1866CL10's.
triturbo
You’ll be fine. I think that @MiRaGe was running the same modules, or something like that. 8740w - DreamColor 2 | 920XM | GTX 1070 | 32GB | MX200 mSATA 500GB + 7K1000 | 6300AGN | W10P64 | 350W | MX Master 3s | MX Keys S | ZR30w | Z-5500 | G29 + shifter 8740w - testbed HDX9000

martin778
Interesting, so they are overclockable in the 8770W or did you re-program the SPD? At this moment the Ripjaws 1600C9 or 1866C10's seem to be the only ones available. P.s On a side note - has HP ever patched the BIOS on these machines disabling undervolting/ThrottleStop? I know for sure they did that with 8th gen onwards.
MiRaGe
I did modify their SPD with Thaiphoon Burner XMG Neo 17 (E24) | 14900HX | 32GB (2X16) Corsair Vengeance DDR5@6600 CL30 | RTX4090 (+285/900) | QHD @240Hz G-Sync | 2x2TB Samsung 990 PRO | Killer WiFi 1675i | Oasis MK2 WC | Win 11 Home - TimeSpy Clevo X170KM-G | 11700KF | 64GB (4x16) Crucial Ballistix DDR4@3066 CL14 | RTX3080 (+220/1650) | QHD @165Hz G-Sync | 1TB WD SN850X + 1TB WD SN750 | Intel AX200 WiFi | Win 11 Pro - TimeSpy

martin778
Ok, so it kinda overrides Intel CPU spec. I installed 1866 C11's today and they work absolutely fine. Wonder if there were any modded BIOSes for these? Would be nice to push these 1866's from 1.35V to 1.5V and see if they'd do 2133.
