HP 8770W max RAM speed

No, mines were Kingstons with Kingstons chips at 1600@1866 CL9

Interesting, so they are overclockable in the 8770W or did you re-program the SPD?

 

At this moment the Ripjaws 1600C9 or 1866C10's seem to be the only ones available.

 

P.s

On a side note - has HP ever patched the BIOS on these machines disabling undervolting/ThrottleStop?

I know for sure they did that with 8th gen onwards.

I did modify their SPD with Thaiphoon Burner

Max native speed is 2133mhz DDR3 Kingstone HyperX Impact. HP Bios is encrypted and locked, undervolt is not possible on this generation.

Ok, so it kinda overrides Intel CPU spec. I installed 1866 C11's today and they work absolutely fine.

Wonder if there were any modded BIOSes for these? Would be nice to push these 1866's from 1.35V to 1.5V and see if they'd do 2133.
