lime
Hello once again, After much deliberation I have installed an M4000m, originally out of a HP Zbook, in my 18r1. Nvcleaninstall got drivers working and the GPU was detected in the bios. But the GPU clock is stuck at 405mhz and the reported power draw caps out at 30w. Could this be rectified by using a dell m4000m bios? Thanks in advance.
Jerryzago
Is this GPU is similar to 980m? 980m has native support for the 18r1. Why not install drivers and "rebrand" is as an 980m. Maybe the limitations will go away. Also do you run this GPU in PEG or SG mode? Has less shaders than the 980m, currently running in SG mode as system didn't post in PEG mode. Currently solved the issue by abusing the sleep bug, which when woken up allows the GPU's power usage double to ~75w. Have some current sense resistors on order, will try to piggyback on top of the existing one and see how I go.
sliderfra
you should flash dell vbios for m4000m, as it will enable PEG mode that does not work with HP vbios
