Alyosha2001 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 @muede in real life, without the use of the dGPU, keyboard light off and monitor brightness to about 10%, around 7 hours. If you're not in a hurry, I've heard that Panther Lake is way more economic
Hyper Posted January 30 Posted January 30 When I set the BIOS settings of my Thinkpad P16 Gen 3 to use my dedicated nVidia graphics card ONLY, my monitor switches to full brightness and the brightness controls of my laptop and Windows do not work anymore. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Does anyone know how I can fix this? I tried it and it works just fine, with the battery draining faster, as expected. Maybe it's the BIOS? I'm on 1.11

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Yes that's a common issue with optimus laptops, reinstalling the current dispay output drivers (in your case dGPU drivers) should do the trick Precision M6700 : i7-3740QM | M3000M 4gb +250mhz OC vbios | 20gb DDR3 | FHD ips dreamcolor | delta fans Zbook 17 g3 : i7-6820HQ -75mv | P3000 6gb modded imac vbios | 16gb DDR4 | FHD ips Precision 7720 : i7-6820HQ | GTX1060 6gb, 88w OC vbios | 16gb DDR4 | (crappy) FHD ips Zbook 17 g5 : i7-8850H, -140mv | P5200 16gb | 32gb DDR4 | FHD IPS -> attempting 4K120hz upgrade

I also got a thread at the Lenovo forums going about this, but no solutions yet that work. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile-Workstations/Lenovo-P16-Gen-3-Screen-brightness-controls-fail-when-using-dedicated-graphics-only/m-p/10020358 HP Elitebook 8540w - i5-560M - FirePro M5800 - 8GB DDR3-1066 - Win7x64 Dell Precision M4800 - Core i7-4810MQ - FirePro M5100 - 24GB DDR3 1600 Windows 11 x64 Dell Precision 7520 - Xeon E3-1545M v5 - Quadro M2200 - 32GB DDR4 2666 Windows 11 x64 Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 - Core Ultra 9 275HX - RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell - 64GB DDR5 5600 - Windows 11 x64
