What website is that?🤔

Yea, that makes sense, the IR-Webcam seems considerably larger than the other one… but all that can wait😅 I‘m just glad I‘ll have it up and running tomorrow, once the pads arrive!

thank you all for the help so far!

Be very careful when replacing thermal pads because if they are not the correct thickness you will have a big problem.

If any pad is too thin, there will be no contact with the heatsink; if it is too thick, it can impair contact with other pads and the CPU and/or GPU.

I recommend measuring the thickness of each original pad with a caliper and using soft pads.

Or use good quality thermal putty and you shouldn't have any problems.

Guys, can i change my 60Hz (1080p) screen to another faster (120,144,165Hz) on my 7530?Maybe from other Dell's model. Now I have installed a Quadro p3200 with nv-192 radiator, perfomance is very well, using ptm7950 on cpu and gpu cristalls, and Honeywell HT10000 thermal putty (10Wk*m) on vrm.Now I play games with v-sync On (in game setting, global in nvcp works worse), without fps limiter, low latency mode is ON (Ultra does not work smoothly, with micro stutter). So the input delay is not huge, my games can be played in full but I'll want to minimize the delay as much as possible.

You can!  The parts you need are:
- 40 pin display cable
- IR camera module
- Screen bezel (The bezel for IR cameras has a different privacy cover mechanism)
- Double-sided LCD adhesive, similar to this:  LCD Adhesive on eBay

- LCD screen with 40 pin narrow (0.4mm pin pitch) signal interface.  Screens from contemporary 15" Alienware laptops will probably work, but always check with Panelook first (see a few posts up)

Forgot to mention that the IR camera requires the lid without the WWAN antennae

But if having a webcamp doesn't matter, you can always keep your current lid+bezel and just swap the screen and display cable

Is there a method for unlocking voltage curve in MSI afterburner and is it related to CPU undervolting lockup? I'm currently on 7540 1.40 BIOS and RTX 5000 but all the settings get reverted back to stock after applying

Also any downsides to running 7740 110w BIOS instead of 80w 7540 one?

The 7730/7740 still have two heat pipes for the CPU, though they are larger diameter and will remove more heat.  85°C+ is still possible for the eight-core CPUs, but the 7730/7740 will run cooler at comparable power levels.  I don't have firm data right now, but 5-10°C cooler at most.

I don't understand,my 7530 did work well all the time. But after the last windows (w10) update did installed old nvidia driver and some system troubles begin. And overheating (with throttling) begin also.I reinstalled windows but overheating was left.I did update ptm with thermal pads (putty). It seems that all works good. But what is strange - previous service with cleaning and new therm.interface was 1 month ago.Any viruses, the system is clean of all bloatware and telemetry,a bios is last.I'm always in all working loads watching cpu's temp and i'm sick of this.I want service once and not watch "under the hood" during 1-2 years (what i can with my old 7510).Now i'm thinking to change my 7530 to 7730(40) or what do you think/know about Hp Workstations - a specifically Zbook Fury 15/17 g6/g7.

PS. What is this part on photo?Classic pad was there and i changed it to putty also (ht10000)

Your CPU is the 8750H, right?  With PTM and a working undervolt, it should run in the low 80s at max load.

I haven't used thermal putty before, but I would be really really cautious about applying too much, causing poor contact between the CPU and heatsink.

These laptops are also really sensitive to ventilation.  Set on a flat surface, the CPU temperatures will be higher.  With the back elevated or on a ventilated surface, the CPU temperatures should hit low 80s max

The circled component is the Platform Controller Hub (PCH)

Thanks for answer.Yes,it is.I did change turbo-boost plan from default agressive to efficient agressive.Termal putty sells in needles so i make 2 sausages and it's total volume is not big on smd and vrm.Seems to be all these can reduce total heating as it was earlier.I put my notebook on these legs so it breathes good.20260108_124618.thumb.jpg.f3968e0c8c591ec0ea1da9c18248decd.jpg20260107_175458.thumb.jpg.2ef4d27c67b7391cedb1ffceafaa74ba.jpg

And what do you think or know about HP Workstations,a cpecifically Zbooks Fury 15/17 g6/g7 ? Are they better or worst by performance and temperatures than Precisions?

My Precision 7540 operates at low temperatures, with little noise, and has excellent battery life (more than 6 hours of light use without using the dGPU, even after more than 5 years).

Even under full load, the i9-9980HK in stock configuration (4.2GHz on all cores simultaneously) never reaches 90°C (except in Prime95, which is a completely unrealistic load...).

I use Kryosheet on the CPU, but with a PTM 7950 it should be similar.

This is fundamental to achieving this level of performance, as is undervolting the CPU.

I believe the cooling system of the 7530 is the same when comparing the same GPU class of each, so it's entirely possible to have a cool system with low noise in normal office use and good battery life.

I doubt that the Zbook from the same year will achieve the same results...

When I had an i7-9750H (similar to the i7-8750H) in that Precision, the temperatures, noise, and battery life were even better.

The i7 undervolted and under full load, could stay at ~80°C all day with the fans at ~75% (~3900 rpm).

Those fold out legs are a neat solution.  Are they durable?

I remember that the CPU VRMs use 0.5mm thermal pads, so even a tiny bit of extra thickness could cause contact issues for the CPU

Notebookcheck has a good review of the ZBook:  https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-ZBook-Fury-15-G7-Workstation-Review-Vapor-Chamber-for-Maximum-Performance.512628.0.html

The build quality looks solid.

Compared with my Precision with similar specs (undervolted 8-core Xeon, RTX 5000 Max-Q), the HP scores 10% lower in Cinebench R20, and 15% lower on 3DMark graphics.
