ClassicGuy Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I decided today to just make an account instead of just browsing topics day after day trying to see if anyone else has my issue, I have been trying to undervolt my Clevo P750TM1-G, well the Sager variant of it. I can set my voltage as low as I want in throttlestop but it will always be about 0.1-0.3v higher, and fluctuates a lot. I really want to find a way to stabilize my voltage so I can undervolt my i7-8086k as much as humanly possible, cause the cooling in the stock configuration isnt great and I dont exactly got the money to just buy upgraded cooling right now. I have even tried setting the voltages in the EFI, which is stock and that didnt fix the voltage issues either. I made a short recording of how much it fluctuates at idle, and it can get even worse sometimes. Are my VRMs screwed up? Clevo P750tm Voltage Fluctuation Short Recording.webm

My friend, all of this depends on the silicon lottery, regardless of the CPU model. Low voltage at high frequencies is purely a matter of silicon lottery, no matter what.

Hello, You didn't answer to my question Is an 9900K at 52x all core at 1.37V fixed Vcore and AVX2 -2 is a golden sample/top binned or not? New question: do you know where to find one? Thanks.
Maro97 Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Yes, I would consider a 9900K running 5.2 GHz all-core at 1.37V fixed Vcore with AVX2 -2 to be a very good chip, definitely above average and potentially a golden sample/top-binned chip. However, the exact bin quality also depends on stability and the test workload, since some chips can pass light benchmarks at that voltage but need more voltage under heavy AVX2 loads. As for where to find one, unfortunately there’s no reliable way to know beforehand. It’s basically silicon lottery. The best option is to find a seller who can provide actual CPU-Z/HWiNFO screenshots and, ideally, proof of stability at 5.2 GHz / 1.37V. If I come across a properly tested 9900K with these characteristics, I’ll let you know.

Even running at 5.0 GHz, 5.1 GHz, 5.2 GHz, or 5.3 GHz on all cores, the performance difference isn’t significant. At most, you’re looking at around 5–10 FPS on average, and that’s only if you can keep the temperatures under control with air cooling. With a closed-loop liquid cooler (AIO), the thermal situation may improve, allowing you to push the CPU further. However, you still won’t gain more than around 12–14 FPS at most.

Did you try using the powerful fans for P870? It's the same as the P775. There are lots of leaves which could give you +25CFM Do you know how to set a fixed voltage in the P870/P775? I can only set an undervolt. LLC is auto. I did -75mV for 4.9GHz all cores. I get 1.27V max reading in HWINFO for the cores at 4.9GHz with AVX -2 on the CPU-Z benchmark. CPU is 9900KF R0

I can -80mV for 4.7GHz to 4.9GHz all cores.

I don't know why, core 0 was maxing at 4.7GHz while the other were maxing at 4.9GHz during the CPU-z tests. AVX -2. Is there a way to set fixed Vcore on P775? I dont have a bios with all the settings, something is making me edp other while under load, the vcore cant surpass 1.27v if surpass itnlower the clock

Also if non undervolted do you still achieve 4.9 or 4.7 in idle???

You deceloped a new bios or you optimized the BIOS settings? If optimized, where did you set the Vcore? You mean 1.25V? 1.25mV is very very tiny.

I just edited the already existing eurocom bios, implemented the ME from the dsanke one, kept the special features this bios had factory from eurocom, and edited some things, but cranked all power and voltage regulators limits up, agressive LLC and shyt, but tbh it just unlocked the true potential of the chip i will investigate more as stated before i could already put -100mv on the cpu beforehand(also i havent slept so im zombie af)

You could push to 250W

I can't seem to find in my unlocked P775TM bios Also do you plan on getting a custom made much more powerful air heatsink for your laptop? That can also do watercooling and let's not forget to add the powerful fans for it (available on AliExpress). You'll get much better temps.
