WTB Clevo X8100 Laptop/Parts Laptop/Or Just MoBo

Hey there looking to find a replacement motherboard for my Clevo x8100. Very hard part to find these days specially since we lost notebook review. Any and all help would be great to get this old laptop backup and running. Thanks!

Where are you from? You can try to get them from clevo service center or eurocom.

Most official clevo sellers send their parts to refuse 2-3 years after the model's EOL. China usually gets those parts.

not really from what ive heard....apparently theyre not even licensed by clevo to carry their name 😅

Well we are in august now and still no luck with finding a motherboard. I haven't been able to get any shops to want to repair it neither. Not to familiar with other clevo gurus but I would like to get this thing up and running. It powers on but the screen does not illuminate at all. All lights come on but also no response from keyboard. Thinking it is possibly SCM related. Any help by chance?

have u tried connecting an external display, see if that works? apologies if uve covered that before, just popped into my head when i saw ur message here. u might also want to try and purchase a complete machine if u can find it, the cost shouldnt be that much different from a mobo alone, plus u could still sell off non-required parts and keep the rest for repair purposes.

Yes I have tried external displays with no luck. I have not been able to find another x8100 to purchase in North America yet I do check everyday however. Still have not fixed the old girl wishing i could come across some parts for it or someone who is willing to repair the current board.

hang in there bud, for such classics it might take a bit of time until something fitting pops up. also extend ur search to worldwide, might find something in asia or europe.

Yea just going to have to keep looking. It appears the Clevo m980nu MoBo will fit however its a CPU downgrade which sucks. Also there is the Clevo P180hm however that motherboard differs a little bit. I hope to be lucky enough to find one soon.

Well the second motherboard I have gotten has turned to be a bust again.. It boots but only to bios. When loading windows or installing computer looses power at the windows loading logo the the power led flashes green then orange then back solid orange. I believe possibly a faulty EC chip. Wish I had the tools to replace this. These motherboards are near impossible to find.
