They just don't make em like this any more...auto tune my ass Heart - Barracuda I like a wide variety of music from multiple genres, unlike many people in my age group. Around the time I turned 60 I began gravitating more toward music without any lyrics, but nothing is as good as the classic metal and hard rock stuff like that one in your post. I do not view music as being an artistic expression. If it doesn't entertain me then I don't like it. I look for demonstration of superior instrumental or vocal ability and melodical excellence. I simply don't care about a person "expressing" their self, the underlying message or whatever agenda they are peddling, or the cultural relevance of their musc, etc. If that even becomes evident to me I tend to reject it. Entertain me... now... or I am turning it off. Music without lyrics seldom annoys me, but often entertains me. Perhaps one of the reasons us older guys like the older music is because the older musicians were focused on entertaining and producing melodic excellence as "entertainers" rather than trying to be artists or cultural influencers. That kind of crap just turns me off. 1 1 1 WRAITH // X870E Apex | 9950X | 5090 Solid OC | 48GB DDR5-8000 | GF3 1650W | Triple 360 Loop | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO (T-Rex) BANSHEE // X870E-E Strix | EPYC 4585PX | 4090 Suprim | 32GB DDR5-8000 | Edge 1300W | Dual 360 Loop || O11D XL EVO (Rhinoceros) MEH!! // Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth | MXM Quadro P5000 16GB | 32GB DDR4 | 4K IPS Display | $500 Turdbook (Sea Turtle) Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. I myself would never consider playing guitar and singing on a stage because I'm just not good enough to be anything like a professional entertainer. I though some of these talentless idiots really didn't know they suck. Maybe they just have thousands of sycophant followers ready to hit the like button every time the "artist" farts. But this changes everything. They are obviously smart enough to make money by "expressing themselves"......huh I think I will continue to express myself by also not listening to their garbage. But I'm sure they won't loose any sleep over my decision. 1 2 Thunderchild // Lenovo Legion Y740 17" i7-9750H rtx2080maxQ win10LTSC RainBird // Alienware 17 (Ranger) i7-4910mq gtx860m win8.1 JunkDog // Desktop Asrock 660M i3-12100F ARC A580 win10LTSC

That kind of crap just turns me off. Eh, re:entertaining and such, people (even older people) tend to forget that older generations of music were also filled with their fair share of bands and acts in it just to make a quick buck. We tend to filter them out over time and only ever remember the greats. Everyone remembers the Rolling Stones for example, but how many people today remember The Monkees? They were one of the (many) bands that were just making a buck, just like how (to take an example I've mentioned in detail here before) Nickelback was when I was growing up as a kid, or hell Puddle of Mudd (even though I absolutely still blast Burry today). Nevermind music back then, as it does now, also was sending some kind of message, albeit exactly what changes depending on the then-current trends/issues/blah. Beatniks of the 1950s, hippies from the 60s/70s, punk/ska/etc from the 90s/00s, etc. -------------- Anyway, ironically enough a song that's been stuck in my head these last few weeks is exactly that: some artist expressing the history of a certain musical vocal program (Machine Love by JamieP): 2 1 Apple M2 MBA 13 (Cayna) - 8/10 SoC, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD Dell Inspiron 7577 (Mayu) - i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060MQ, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 128GB NVMe + 1TB HDD, 1080p, Win10 Home DIY Desktop (Altair) - i7-8700K, Radeon 6600 8GB, 32GB DDR4-3200, 256GB NVMe + 256GB SSD + 8TB HDD, 1080p x3, Win11 Home DIY Server (Mobius) - i5-6600K, 16GB DDR4, 30TB array, Samsung EVO 860 500GB cache, unRAID 6.11.5 Pro Other machines: Lenovo Thinkpad W520 (Strigon), Thinkpad X61t (Aquila) RIP NBR
