6730b
Maybe a topic for interesting tech innovations would be of interest. So starting with this: MIT researchers have developed a portable desalination unit, weighing less than 10 kilograms, that can remove particles and salts to generate drinking water. The suitcase-sized device, which requires less power to operate than a cell phone charger, can also be driven by a small, portable solar panel. Their prototype generates drinking water at a rate of 0.3 liters per hour, and requires only 20 watt-hours per liter. https://news.mit.edu/2022/portable-desalination-drinking-water-0428 3 Dell Precision 5540 w10 ltsc 1809, Latitude E7440 w8.1. & a pile of other stuff. jaybee83
My mind was recently blown when I saw that they finally reached nuclear fusion ignition: https://www.llnl.gov/news/three-peer-reviewed-papers-highlight-scientific-results-national-ignition-facility-record Ignition is basically the point, at which a nuclear fusion reaction becomes self-sustaining, i.e. the energy it generates is more than is needed to keep it runnning, thus generating net energy. huuuuuuuuuuuuuge milestone! btw, its called "ignition" because thats also the point at which a condensed cloud of gas in space turns into a real star, once it gets hot and dense enough to reach nuclear fusion ignition and turn self-sustained. 1 1 Mine: Hyperion "Titan God of Heat, Heavenly Light, Power" (2022) AMD Ryzen 9 7950X / Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme / MSI Geforce RTX 4090 Suprim X / G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-6600 2x16 GB / Seagate Firecuda 530 4 TB / 2x Samsung 860 Evo 4 TB / Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 / Seasonic TX-1600 W Titanium / Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 TG / Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 32" UHD 240 Hz / Ducky One 3 Daybreak Fullsize Cherry MX Brown / Corsair M65 Ultra RGB My Lady's: Clevo NH55JNNQ "Alfred" (2022) Sharp LQ156M1JW03 FHD matte 15.6" IGZO 8 bit @248 Hz / Intel 12600 @ 4.4 - 4.8 Ghz / Nvidia 3070 Ti 8 GB GDDR6 / G.Skill 16 GB DDR4-3800 / Samsung 970 Pro 1 TB / Intel AX201 ax+BT / Win 11 Pro Phoenix Lite OS / 230 W PSU powered by Prema Mod!
