Can't remember honestly... I guess I would have to retry to be sure

I probably just did

cmd.exe as admin

cd into file path

nvflashk --protectoff

nvflashk -5 -6 newbios.rom, or maybe just nvflashk -6 newbios.rom

This was from stock bios to 86.04.70.00.1B, which I took from techpowerup

upon reading about it in this thread

Hi,

I just came on this thread and found out that there seems to be a some "OC" vbios for the Quadro P4000 and maybe P3000 mobile version

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/imac-2011-maxwell-and-pascal-gpu-upgrade.2300989/

Don't try to contact them, looks like they are a bit higher up in their mind and doesn't want to deal with "non mac user" hahaha.

That said, I didn't tried them, your luck may vary, it might not work on normal laptop, I'm currently investigating how it's modded and might be able to replicate it.

Here is a preview of what's this modded vbios is capable on the P4000

Comparing to it's stock graphics score of about 3900~4000, this is a 20% performance uplift that's above a 1060 level of performance.

P3000 + P4000 modded overclocked vbios.zip 1.03 MB · 79 downloads

The two p3000 modded bios don’t work on m17x r4 with edp 120hz screen. Got 8 beeps.

86.04.70.00.1B works nicely. But no overclocking possible

It's not about overclocking unlocking, it's just getting a proper boost frequency out of those core. I remember being locked at 1250MHz on the P4000 I had on the M6700, with theses vbios you should see the card reach 1600+MHz on the core, leading to higher performance (about 20%). That said I didn't tried them, I didn't had a P3000 or a P4000 since I made this thread (nor an MXM laptop) but a few people reported higher clock speed thanks to theses vbios.

Desktop / I7 14700KF @5.4/4.5GHz 1.25v delidded / MSI Z690 Edge Wifi DDR4 / 32GB DDR4 B-die @4200c16 / RTX 3080 Ti MSI Trio Plus / Triple 27" 4k120 + 2*4k60

XPS 9500 / I7 10750H @3.2GHz all-core / 32GB DDR4 2400MHz / GTX 1650Ti 4GB @50W / 15.6" UHD / NVME / 86Wh

Precision 7550 / I9 10885H @4.6GHz all-core / 32GB DDR4 2933MHz / Quadro RTX3000 6GB @80W / 15.6" FHD IPS 500nits / NVME / 95Wh

I was once running an overclocked I7 3920XM @4.2GHz all-core (nvram edit) in a Dell Precision M6700 with 32GB 2133MHz DDR3L, a Quadro P4000 and a 4k eDP display (using 3d cable)
