Developer79
Here is a test with Horizon Forbidden West with the RTX4070ti in comparison with a desktop PC and 13700K. The power consumption of the GPU is also astonishing, almost the same! My power supply, in the form of an SSD 2nd hard disk slot, can withstand the load without any problems. All settings are identical. NO FG, DLSS, FSR....
Developer79
Another new thing I have developed is that the second CPU fan (5V) for the P870TM is properly controlled by the Clevo motherboard. This way the fan is not constantly running at full speed... Below you can see on the left how the fan starts and stops: Links: https://easyupload.io/msof2j https://easyupload.io/aubzj3

In addition, the bios does not have such support. There was no rBAR yet! That also depends on the bios. The GTX10xx series could possibly also be updated via Nvidia. But I don't know exactly. It only works with the new cards... Unless NVidia makes updates for the VBios, but I don't think so!....

Tenoroon
Anyone here know any tools or custom vBIOSes for the 2070 Super to increase its TDP? I've tried damn near everything to increase the TDP and can't get anything to work. I have: 1. Used Ampere Bios Editor and Mobile Pascal TDP tweaker to adjust the TDP of my card's vBIOS. 2. Unsuccessfully software flashed above vBIOSes using nvflashk and many nvflash derivatives. 3. Unsuccessfully hardware flashed above vBIOSes (black screen, unknowing if POST, was able to max fans via FN+1) 4. Unsuccessfully hardware flashed multiple desktop 2070 Super vBIOSes 5. Unsuccessfully Compared differing 2070 Super mobile vBIOSes to find where in the ROM power limits are stored. Are there any dedicated Turing custom vBIOS tools or specially modified and signed vBIOSes floating around? I'm a bit displeased with the low stock TDP of this card as I know it is capable of matching a desktop 2070 Super. I love how easy Nvidia has made it to do whatever I want to a product I own, it really does fill me with joy... Wingolf
@Developer79 Do you have any plans on doing a similar modification for the X170KM? Not sure how suitable it is but it does have a two generation CPU advantage over the P870(unless your mod for the 13/14th gen CPUs comes to fruition) Also, does this work with a P870DM2-G, or just the TM-G? I can't see why one would work better than the other but I am not as intimately familiar with it as some are here. I have a line on a pretty cheap DM2-G and am debating going for it. Do you sell kits for this? How much would they cost(I can DM you or you can DM me if you'd rather keep any and all of these answers more private) (Quick aside for whatever mod approves this, how do I get properly approved to not have to have every post approved by a mod? I've been posting on and off for a while and just kinda assumed that would fall off on its own after a certain account age or similar. The X170xx has a newer CPU generation, which will be a slight advantage, but my tests with the GPU extension showed almost no difference to the 9th Gen! My GPU extension works with all P870xx, except the P870DMG (the very first model)! Please send me an email for further answers! Greetz

My GPU expansion does not fit into the X170xx! The geometric proportions alone are unsuitable compared to the P870xx (DM23/KM/TM)! The second aspect is the electrical connection, which is different for the X170xx. My development is specially adapted to the P870xx (DM23/KM/TM)... Wingolf
In general, is there any reason to go for a P870TM (OR KM) over a P870DM2? I'm having trouble finding any TM/KMs available for sale in the US at a decent price, but I've got a line on a DM2 for pretty cheap. Seems like as long as you're willing to BIOS mod it, all the models are roughly equivalent. For reference, I'm planning to toss an 8086k and probably the 300HZ 1080P screen into it. Would I see any loss of performance going with the DM2? Alienware 17 R1(2014) - 4930MX / 880M (Soon to be GTX 1070)

As we all now know, all chipsets from Z170-Z370 are upgradeable with all processors up to the 9th generation! The power consumption via the motherboard for the desktop graphics card is the same for all models! The DM2 works the same as the KM or TM!!! ... I have P870DM2-3(G) with 2 1080 VGA as the attached image. 1 card with Vbios: 86.04.2A.00.2D Another card has Vbios: 86.04.80.00.24 I have installed 2 cards with 1 vbios 86.04.2A.00.2D, with SLI cable installed. Performance tests show that SLI doesn't really work properly in my experience. Exactly, it is weaker when running on 1 vga. Checking in the bios, the system only detects 1 vga card instead of 2.
