Information for those who have rtx2080 Clevo cards without g-sync, the card can be made with G-sync support by rearranging the strap resistor. The procedure is as follows: 1) Solder the vbios chip from the video card, flash the vbios with a programmer that supports working with 1.8 volt chips. The card ID of non-g-sync cards is 10de 1e90, so we need a vbios with G-sync support, id 10de 1ed0. 2) We solder the strap resistor to another place (see photo). 3) We install the card in the laptop, put the radiator and everything else. We start and look at the id of the card, the id has changed to 10de 1ed0 with G-sync support. The same applies to all rtx20 Clevo cards. This was made possible thanks to an enthusiast from our Clevo forum in Russia under the nickname Chujoi13.

The QTJ1 / QTJ0 / QTJ2 mutant processor can be bought in China, they came up with the idea of installing a bga processor on an lga1151v2 substrate and made IHS for it. In order to run these processors on Clevo p870/p775/750/751 laptops, you will need to install the latest Dsanke bios for your model, for KM and TM series it is Dsanke 9900ks 128g. For older models, you need Dsanke ME Disable bios. And another point, these processors are very picky about RAM, not all brands run. It works well with RAM sticks from SK Hynix 2133Mhz ddr4, after starting the system easily overclocks to 2666Mhz or more.

No, but it would be very cool if it worked, although I have an ES processor, so g-sync would not start anyway.

To be honest I do not actually understand where does it needs that the bios needs to recognize CPU for gsync to work. I found where is the code to recognize the display but not the CPU. Maybe someone will share that with us.

In the bios there is a list of hardware options that, when combined, g-sync will work, this is due to the Nvidia license. In addition, the Nvidia driver itself has a compatibility check for G-sync to work on your device.

I think that this can be done for 775tm. But it does not depend on me, the bios was made by another enthusiast at my request. It all depends on his desire.

I can give you a dump of the p870tm bios and if you have some skills in this area then you can disassemble it and see what changes are required to support rtx30 cards and transfer them to the p775tm bios.

Hi!

I tried it and unfortunately it just doesn't work.

At this point I am convinced that to make it work on P775TM1-G there is some other workaround necessary.

I tried making changes to the modules for my P775 and it wouldn't change the Device-ID no matter what.

In the end I literally transplanted the whole nvidia driver modules (dxe, pei, smm) from your modded P870TM bios to my P775TM. Suprisingly enough, while very buggy (flickering screen, BIOS corruption, internal panel very dim) it actually works, I can boot into windows, drivers doesn't crash, HDMI output to my TV works perfectly.

However, the Device-ID STILL DOESN'T CHANGE!!!!!!! :@ xD

Pictures with the P870 driver modules in my P775:

20221019_104837.thumb.jpg.8058176f8f0ad3b1f552999c291d0abf.jpg

20221019_105144.thumb.jpg.efb38c97e0f963f6952dc7ffde3133e1.jpg

20221019_105334.thumb.jpg.2d0e65afe61a21d69c6d8880c6da10a3.jpg

So unless the modifications for the Device ID are done elsewhere in the BIOS, the same modifications that have been done to your P870 nvidia module does absolutely nothing atleast in my case for my P775 and an RTX 3080.

Maybe, I am missing out on something? Could you ask if its possible for that enthusiast to have a look on my P775 BIOS? I would even pay for a successful mod.

And if indeed there were different modules modified, another BIOS dump from you before the RTX 30 series support was added would be helpful for me.

Thanks!

Thanks!

For the dump you can use stock P870TM bios (last version)

NVIDIA_DEV.24DC.7715.1558% = Section110, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_24DC&SUBSYS_77151558

NVIDIA_DEV.24DC.7715.1558% = Section110, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_24DC&SUBSYS_77151558    It is necessary that the identifier change to 7715 1558, as far as I remember on the old forum Dsanke said something about this

I did it!!!!

I am so happy!

A completely different module needed modifications that were untouched in your modified BIOS.

Not sure why the P775 and P870 work differently, but hey, glad that I got it working!

Huge thanks for @runix18 for telling me that it is possible and giving me a starting point and @ViktorV for showing actual proof of it working.

After like 10 if not more hours of bios modding and flashing finally got it working =D

Actually, as a matter of fact the module that I modified in my P775 bios doesn't exist in the P870 bios which makes sense why the mods from P870 didn't work for my P775.

possibly because the p870 has 2 mxm slots for video cards, and the p775 has only one

Fun fact, if you port the P775 nvdgpudxe to P870 bios the Pci express lanes remain only 8 (not 16 like on the p775) but the second sli port stops working. So that means that the PcieE lanes on the P870 are hard wired only 8 lanes per slot. (wich makes sense due to limited pci express lanes of the CPU).
