Does anyone know what that could be? It seems it has a loose connection or something else on the circuit board under the Display. sometimes it’s there and sometimes not. Is it possible to repair this?

The right one has also a fin over the Mosfets. Maybe better for GTX 1080. But I have only 1060 here to test. I don’t think there are to much differences with the 1060

Here are also two Heatsinks for GTX Series. On the left comes from P751TM1 on the right from P751DM2. Which one is the better for cooling?

This is for the B156ZAN02.2 with the wider 40-Pin Connector

Today I got my hands on an Schenker DTR 15(P751TM1) it has also an UHD screen. But this is not listed on upgrade chart from Eurocom. It has a B156ZAN02.2. And the 4K 40-pin cable is a wider one. So for LQ156D1JW04 is 40-pin small and B156ZAN02.2 is 40-pin wider.

It’s an BOE NE156FHM-NZ1 But it has no screw holes. So I installed it with double-sided tape.

Try at first the latest XMG U506 Bios. Because the unlocked DSanke Bios makes problems. For example it reboots when you try to shut it down. -
Try the Quadro card. Never had any issues with Quadros

The AW 18 never had an EDP-Screen. With this adapter it could work but I think there would be many cables which you have to stowage inside the case.- 31 replies

Yes, this Dell Precision card will work in M18X R2. I have the same in mine installed. I only know that the 1070m Chinese cards have cheap components and may not live very long.

Unlock your Bios, switch to SG-Mode. You can leave both cards inside. Now you get Intel HD and one 7970m. After that I prefer a Quadro P4000/5000. Get a copper Heatsink from eBay or Aliexpress install the Quadro with mod.inf and you have an upgraded M18x R2 without any modding at your Heatsink or chassis and MXM-Slot. These Chinese cards are crap. They have no good quality components.

What do you have expected? It’s like an RTX 2060. And an RTX 2060 is like a GTX 1070. And 980m SLI is like a 1070. But now you have Raytracing and a Single Card. -
Yes you need the 100w GTX Heatsinks and I guess for the 880m SLI you don’t need an unlocked Bios. Without battery you can’t update the Bios. You must have a working one.

The M18X R2 never showed the name of the GPU in the Bios. It only says Nvidia or AMD.
