  1. 11900K + RTX3080 (x170km), the image was found in the web.

    Books Thread

I do not think that everything was exactly as the author describes, but it is extremely difficult to establish the truth looking into the depths of centuries...
  3. It would be great to see how much, I don't think the difference will be really drastic, although who knows...
  4. But why is it so late?) Personally, I couldn't get used to the new design of version 11, I prefer the previous one in Windows 10 from the first releases, not to mention everything else. Assuming that I'm wrong and very old-fashioned.
  5. @MaxxD In any case, you have a pretty good performance, in the TimeSpy for x170km I see ~12817 for Graphics score, if you are interested I can upload a screenshot.
  6. In this case, I think that the bios from Prema doesn't have any changes regarding support for the RTX 3rd series of GPU for this laptop, the 3080 is not working in the correct mode at full power, G-Sync raises questions and even the driver has to be modified that also told me a lot initially and aroused suspicion. In the Nvidia panel, you can see the initial main characteristics of the GPU and you need to check more carefully whether it works in the end.
  7. @i.bakar you are welcome. I assume that your positive changes are due to the fact that the liquid metal began to have better adhesion on the heat sink side over time and this is a very important thing in this case, it is quite difficult to apply since it sticks to the surface poorly and many people even suggest slightly scratching the surface for better contact. If you just apply it without trying to rub it into both surfaces, it won't work the best way. You definitely need to be extremely careful not to get on the electronic components and not damage the device.
  8. I think that first of all it's necessary to make sure that the specific BIOS version installed on the laptop really supports full GPU boost of 165 watts and G-Sync, since based on the actions that you did above and the final result, the problem may be caused not only by installing the driver. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some confusion in the versions or something else, unless of course it actually works completely correctly for someone.
  9. First of all thank you for your answer with a significant amount of detail. It's great that you don't experience any problems related to the unstable operation of the device, I saw some messages about it from other users above and it became interesting for me to learn more. As for the amount of RAM and disk space you are currently using, in any case it will not be superfluous and if there is an opportunity, then why not. You probably have the currently latest 1.07.08 BIOS version installed, did you update after purchase yourself? This model was usually supplied with earlier firmware versions, maybe it was installed at the factory or the seller did it himself, which is of course less likely. By the way, what boot logo do you see after turning on the laptop?
  10. Initially, it seemed to work for you after installing the GPU with an external screen, probably the driver is not installed correctly, try to completely remove it and re-perform the installation procedure carefully following the steps from the video. I also hope that you have reset the BIOS settings to the default ones as you were advised above. The main thing is not to give up, the community as a whole and people who have direct experience with this before can definitely help you to understand what the problem is.
  11. This corresponds to the panel with the id: B173ZAN03.0, but in the list of characteristics on the panelook website I do not see that it supports G-Sync, are you sure that it works correctly?
  12. Is it possible to know what model of the 4K display used for G-Sync works?
  13. As I assumed earlier G-Sync will work on an external monitor without any problems and with the standart version of the bios, does the card also refuse to work at full power of 165 watts? This is actually more important to get.
  14. The screenshots definitely show that the maximum consumption is only ~150W (149,3) and the card does not work at full power using turbo boost. Try to use only the laptop screen, it doesn't seem to me that something will change in this case, but suddenly.
  15. @MaxxD It's great that you found a solution. I think that G-Sync will work on an external monitor without any problems and with the basic version of the bios, do you have the opportunity to test this with a laptop screen? Regarding 165 watts, it is really necessary to check the consumption when the video card is under load by running one of the tests.

    FPS/Hz question

It's a pretty good choice, I think you've already appreciated the increased frequency and higher resolution, as well as HDR support and low 1ms response.
  17. I would also like to see something completely modular at best, such as the x170 or area51 with a screen size of 18 inches, but as you may have noticed, there were very few such devices on the gaming laptop scene and in the future they will probably become increasingly rare, since in addition to the above it also uses less demand. Your wishes and mine are not what the manufacturer considers, there are completely another priorities in the first place and this is an obvious fact.
  18. I think you will also be happy with your new LG C2 model, we often tend to get attached to things and sometimes it can be really difficult to just trust and start using something new.
  19. Hello, I saw one item on the ebay some time ago, it seems from the official Eurocom seller, so it's worth carefully monitoring the offers there.
  20. It is unfortunate to write this, but I think that we won't see fully modular laptops in the near future, any production is primarily earnings and then everything else, it is simply not profitable for them and in addition everything began to go down the way of cheaper and more mobility in this product segment. I really want a miracle to happen and Clevo or someone else to hear these wishes, but there is less hope for this every day.
  21. I also thought about it, unfortunately everything is going towards reducing costs and greater mobility or miniaturization of the device, it's a some frustrating that the last great model was not continued.
  22. @MaxxD Someone reported that the support for the RTX 3-series cards works with the bios from Prema right out of the box, it is likely that this may not be entirely true, please check whether the card is working at full power with a turbo boost of up to 165 watts and what's there with G-Sync.
  23. Monitors are difficult to repair because even for new models it can be extremely difficult to find the necessary part and correctly diagnose what is the cause of the problem, so do not regret much that everything ended like this, you could just lose money.
  24. @i.bakar Most likely, you really have insufficient contact of the radiator to the IHS, which leads to high temperatures under load. Also make sure that you apply liquid metal to both surfaces after degreasing them as much as possible, otherwise it will definitely not give the desired result, it must be carefully rubbed on each side.
  25. I don't see the point in such modifications yet, because first of all I'm interested in mobility and then everything else.
