  1. Hello guys. I managed to finish the design and I'll find a manufacturer.
  2. Hello. Do you know the width of one MXM pin? Is it 0.3mm? 0.35mm? Literally no information online other than one thing... 0.5mm pitch, that's it. Here's how it should be.
  3. @Developer79 Solder-less idea, using thin flex cables and one wire. (Sorry for the bad example)
  4. I compared some Clevo P7XX and P870 they do indeed have the same pinouts! Same for the Alienware M17X R4 (it has a mux switch for the eDP connector unlike Clevo) The backlight pins are universal. I can't confirm if other laptops are compatible with that. Some may have different signals for eDP like not being set for port D... Better find the MXM pinouts diagram for your laptop!
  5. 4050,4060,4070 eDP YES only if MXM port is modded. 3060, 3070, 3080 could also work, although they have DP on port D, it'll theorically work. If anyone wants to try, go ahead and do what the picture shows. Developer79 tested this wiring setup and got the 4070 from XVSION to work with his eDP screen. @janepa
  6. Hello. Are you sure? I get it, you need pure-UEFI or it won't ever boot. But I saw the schematics for the M17X R4 and I see that eDP is on port D and not C. Where did you find out it was on port C?
  7. Hello. Here's a new clear picture. It shows how to do the mod. It's the right one. I checked the datasheet for the RTX 3060/3070/3080 (from X-VSION, probably the same for ZRT). They also lack the backlight pins 23,25,27 and the vbios don't have eDP. Although, they have DP on DP_D. Theorically, if the backlight pins are modded like on the picture I've sent, the DP could be displayed in the eDP screen! I know you 4 guys have the RTX 3060 or 3080 from X-Vsion. If you have an eDP laptop that has signals for DP_D between pins 206 and 236 of the MXM slot, you can try this mod and let us know please! @sliderfra @therhor70 @aldarxt @ssj92
  8. So even, if the vbios states it's DP on DP_D. If I enable the backlight pins, using the mod, the DP signal would be projected on the eDP screen? Despite the vbios not having eDP set for DP_D?
  9. @Developer79 @sliderfra Hello. I received the datasheet for the RTX 3060/3070/3080 MXM cards from X-VSION. They all have DP out for DP_D. They also all lack the pin 23, 25 and 27! But, are you sure that a DP signal would be compatible for an eDP display? Like, if we enable the backlight pins 23, 25, 27 by modding the MXM port? @sliderfrasince you have an RTX 3060 MXM, do you have a compatible eDP laptop? (Beside Alienware), like a clevo or a HP? So you can test if your 3060 can display on the master slot, "if the DP could display on the screen if the backlight pins are enabled".
  10. I looked at ZRT side, the eDP is on port D and the HDMI on port E. I don't understand X-VSION specs. There's no way you have eDP on port E!! The vbios clearly has eDP because it shows it on the Nvidia control panel. (I have Quadro RTX 3000 + 4090 as slave) @Maro97if you know how to solder, you can go ahead and do the mods. If you want more explanation on the mod, please send me a private message. Thank you. Edit: the 4080 and 4090 aren't even working with my external HDMI and DP out.... But the RTX 4070 and 3060 worked with DP and HDMI out, strange...
  11. But that's not eDP! It's regular DP on the VBIOS! Although eDP and DP are sharing the same exact 11 signals (without counting the GND) Can a regular DP out with the 23,25,27 pins display on the eDP display? @Developer79
  12. Depends. This one has like 2 HDMI and 2 DP out. The vbios indeed has eDP support but for which port? on D or E?
  13. On eBay there's a cheap P870DM for 380€ but it's shipped in the USA. There's also a P870TM on Leboncoin.fr if you negotiate with the guy, you can get the whole combo (without ram, without GPU, without SSD) for 500€ How did you break your motherboard? Did it also break my 4070 MXM card? Did you hear any sparks? Is it only your MXM port that got damaged? (Bad pins, bend pins?)
  14. Thanks to @Developer79for confirming my hypothesis on the backlight pins. Yes the pin 23, 25, 27 were indeed needed! Sadly Developer79 didn't find a way to do some hardware mods on the PCB of the RTX 4070 MXM. He did it on his MXM connector, which doesn't make the MXM card plug and play on almost any mxm laptops. Although... I'll try my best to solder these 3 pins. The red line is 2 wires. (280 to 23, 25) The green line is 1 wire (278 to 27) If I can't solder these... I need to contact someone else to solder these pins! Wish me luck once I get the 4070 MXM back home!
  15. Hello! What's the max TDP you got? You were thermal throttling? Didn't you use a 1mm shim on the die?
  16. Hello, I have some news... it can work because... Developer79 managed to make a standard RTX 4070 MXM run on his laptop with video driven thru his eDP screen! Yes, the RTX 4070 MXM that wasn't working on my eDP screen, worked on his laptop! Which is a clevo P870. For your information, the P870 and P570 both share the exact same MXM connector pinouts, so it means the card could finally display on my laptop's eDP display! Developer79 did a few hardware modification on the MXM card and the eDP display began displaying from the card itself! So yes, I was right about the backlight panel pins! After, I need to test the card on the P570 but it sure will work 100%. I don't know why X-VSION and ZRT didn't enable these pins? Like... Why add eDP on DP_D if it doesn't fully work in our laptop's internal eDP screen? eDP is widely used on laptops...
  17. News about ZRT... Still no replies! Despite having the MXM card sent to you and you were able to mod it before they even reply. This is wild. I knew ZRT would ghost me because of the laptop support...
  18. I think, they aren't interested in the laptop market! Beside EDP is only used for laptops... Newer laptops don't even have mxm ports anymore. Like Dell, they use some proprietary formats like DGFF...
  19. This could be actually so good!! It means any RTX 4050, 4060, 4070 and even 4080/4090 can have full eDP support? You should make a contract with these companies!
  20. Hello. What's better, the QTJ0 vs the QTJ1 vs the Xeon E-2286M ES (with a proper model number showed on CPU-Z)? The Xeon is clocked at 5Ghz max. QTJ0 at 4.7GHz, overclockable QTJ1 at 4.6Ghz, overclockable All the CPUs can undervolt.
  21. You can't, really can't. I tried that already. You need to mod your MXM GPU and change the power resistors.
  22. That's so cool! If you can make a x8 adapter it'll work on most MXM eDP laptops! Also, we need to make the existing RTX Ada MXM GPUs to work with our eDP laptops! eDP pinouts are present but the MXM cards are missing the backlight pins/jumpers! Developer79 is already working on my RTX 4070 MXM card and will let us know!
  23. Hello! News so far! Developer79 got my RTX 4070 MXM card! Developer79 will test the card probably tomorrow on his Clevo P870 and tell me what's happening on his side! Will it do a blackscreen and only work thru DP, HDMI? Probably If it does, how @Developer79can trigger the jumpers for the backlight? We'll probably know on this week! About ZRT, still no answers since 5 days!
  24. I never said that. That card works Alienware M18X R2, Clevo P570WM, HP ZBOOK G5 17, G6 17. Could work on P870 series because of it's dual MXM slot.
