  1. I put RTX 4080 MXM on M6800 and it works (check userbenchmark for proof). No weird 40W TDP bug (maybe only happens on Alienware?). Yes 4080 displays in the main screen, eDP with backlight mod v1. The custom heatsink works, need to use PTM7950 for better performance. Sadly I can't close the lid with the heatsink installed...
  2. No, it's maybe the thickness of it but it's the same thickness as the OEM one, mmmh.
  3. I tested with everything, 1R8, 2R8. It doesn't like dual channel... Waited for nothing and 35€ gone 😞 The heatsink: max 83C core temp, stable TDP (no 40W TDP bug). 150W then 130W then 120W (because of thermal throttling). I didn't use PTM7950 yet and the fan area wasn't really open for intake. Sadly the palmrest won't close because of the heatsink....
  4. It doesn't fit when I put the palmrest....... Please help, I upgraded to an i7 4910mq, it doesn't work. There are 3 LEDS on the corner of the PC. 1 IS ON, 2ND IS BLINKING AND 3RD IS OFF. Edit: it's a RAM module error but after swapping to an i7 4700MQ, all the RAM (4/4) are recognized...
  5. Remove the CMOS battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds and then try again with the M6100.
  6. Yes they need a newer one and a better one... 4 heatpipes design if possible.
  7. That was for the RTX 4050/4060/4070 MXM type A. This cutting mod won't work on the offset center RTX cards.
  8. Get the ZRT RTX 4080/4090 and the best CPU available for that platform. I tested Optimus with the cable on. The brightness control works of course because the display is rooted from the iGPU. in dGPU, the display comes from the GPU. The brightness control may not work and you'll be stuck at 100%. Some motherboards allow brightness control without being dependent from the dGPU such as the Clevo P570WM3. On the M6800, the brightness control is dependent of the GPU. I'll make a version 2 of the backlight mod cable (once 80% of the v1 is sold). It'll have a manual tiny PWM slider to control the brightness (pin 27)
  9. 5090 not exists yet. Just get the RTX 4080 ZRT or 4090 ZRT version. You need to have eDP display if you want a full dGPU performance + the backlight mod cable.
  10. No, I have the same on P3000, P5200 and RTX 3000.
  11. Hello, what version the 4980HQ was? Green PCB? AliExpress SR1ZY PGA? Is it better than an i7 4910MQ? I found on the internet that many people got stuck at 16GB DDR3 with 2 sticks of RAM. I already got the newer RTX Ada to work on eDP on the M6800 with DP and HDMI out. (Just need a fixed VBIOS to enable the eDP that's being disabled by the Nvidia drivers when init)
  12. If 5090 has the same offset as the RTX 4090 MXM then yes. Quadro RTX 5000 Aetina, PNY, ADLINK will fit too! It's the holidays for China, maybe contact the seller if an early shipping is possible or not
  13. No, need external power + won't fit
  14. Any news about ZRT? Because the whole China is going to holidays
  15. Hello. Does your laptop have eDP too? Or just LVDS? Because this thread is only for eDP laptops, dGPU at full performance. LVDS is limiting the newest cards a lot sadly. RTX 4060 from X-VSION has a good vbios, it'll work with eDP without any EDID override!
  16. Yes, didn't you see the link? It could be compatible with a big range of GPU formats, even the latest and newest Blackwell GPUs from Aetina/Zotac, so it could also be a 3 in 1 since we have 8 holes for the x-bracket. Please help cicichen by purchasing one of his heatsinks! It's cheaper than making your own 3D model and submit it to a company.
  17. Just get RTX 4080/4090, easy (I need their Vbios) I tested RTX Ada and my backlight mod on over a few pc and only the M6700 didn't work... Could be an issue with the motherboard since it shares LVDS lines too... You can search online for benchmarks. I am making a v2 of the backlight cable mod, I dropped the price of the v1.
  18. 4080 is better, newer architecture, beats 3080 by a margin, lower nanometers, DLSS 4, etc. Or get the 4090. It's ZRT not X-VSION. X-vsion is bad for 4080 and 4090 because of the VBIOS! I had a 3080 X-VSION, no issues when installing the drivers but the 4080 is faster, pulls more frames on furmark and heaven, don't have the pictures with me
  19. 150W ain't Max-Q. ZRT has eDP set to enabled. They advertise eDP unlike X-VSION and the VBIOS versions numbers are different than X-VSION. We talked about X-VSION RTX 4080, 4090 all day on this forum, no they have a bad display table. Most laptops use DP_B for DP but these cards are set in HDMI for DP_B... Also the eDP is present but it's set to disabled. So when we install the drivers, the screen turns off. This doesn't happen with RTX 4050,4060,4070,3080 because the eDP output is enabled. To fix this issue, the EDID override manipulation but it's quite annoying... Just contact ZRT thru email or thru blibli (China). There are sadly no downloads available online for these VBIOSes whatsoever... I wanna flash them on my cards too...
  20. Just get the ZRT cards then for the 4080 and 4090 please. X-vsion doesn't want to fix their Vbios. Only good X-VSION cards for that gen is 4050,4060 and 4079.
  21. The OEM NV-A 7720 heatsink is good for the RTX 4050, 4060 and 4070 MXM, good temps on both. Just need to cut the part where the GPU's VRM are.
  22. I asked the same for the ZRT VBIOS of the 4080 and 4090 asap also but I'm still waiting... Maybe you'll have to wait a month for the results
  23. Hello, good news for M6800 users, a new heatsink has been made that's 2 in 1! Triple heatpipes for the GPU and full copper plate. Can support standard NVIDIA MXM and the offset center ones! Better performance than the OEM one! Compatible with RTX 3060,3070,3080, A4500, 4080, 4090 and GTX 900M, GTX 10 series and RTX 3000, 5000 (ADLINK, AETINA) https://ebay.us/m/oFTxSC (available for purchase by cicichen) I'll be the first one to test it, I'll test at 115W and 150W. There is also one for M6700 but the RTX Ampère and Ada won't work in PEG eDP, even with the backlight cable...
