or u can order this: Für Himbeer Pi 5 RTC Batterie kasten Echtzeituhr halter mit Batterie/ohne Batterie Echtzeituhr Batterie modul - AliExpress 502 i needed for my old PC, much easier to handle with open, put battery in, n done... when ur system is still plugged in, even no bios data loss. and u need to check the plug size, maybe u need a different model for the m6700 -
Dell Precision M6700 RTX Ampère and Ada Lovelace issues

uhhh, so the m6800 is a massive step forward 😄 -
some benches: original Toshiba XG3 512GB(really poor performance, even for a main/OS drive): new Samsung 960 Pro 512GB: and my game drive a WD SN730 1TB: original 2x8GB SK Hynix 2400 CL17: and new 2x 16GB Kingston HyperX 2666 C15: so the new mem has(rounded) +10% higher read, +17% write and +21% copy bandwith and 3% less latency. Timespy CPU score is +6.3%, firestrike +8.2%... im really excited for the new mainboard with the E3-1575M V5, should be give another blast in gaming stuff.... ordered already the custom heatsink for RTX cards from cicichen, he said need around a week to make + shipping, x-vsion wrote me back, they have a RTX A3000 12GB with 140W TDP in stock, think will go for it n stay -atm- at the 1080p screen then. and another thing i noticed n easy to optimize is the airflow, when counted right there r 1073 holes for air intake to the fans each has a diameter of 0.8mm, that means each hole has 0.503qmm = a total of 539.7qmm, will drill the holes out to 1mm each, that will increase the intake opening to 842.3qmm = +56% higher air intake and the noise should be down too bcs of less turbulences.

think the m4700 has fallback mode like m4800 has, when dedicated graphics dont work, igpu will set automatically to primary. -

just know from desktop, when u hit the power button, the whole system has a peak before bios is loaded... think same for laptop? may try with only 1 mem module n disconnect all drives to save some power to test. -

trying a bios on the 4080 with less PL maybe? possible the m4700 cant deliver enough power for the whole system? -

Precision 7510/7520 Owners Thread
Annihilator replied to M4980's topic in Pro Max & Precision Mobile Workstation
MXM Type Series - X-VSION GRAPHICS CARD n im not sure the output can deliver more then 120Hz at 1080p. -
yep, my bad was copy n paste from the other thread n only changed the stuff, this one slipped in 😄
-
yeah i noticed that, would be interesting the VRM controller can handle 6 phases or they "only" get doubled then, even doubled is ok, bcs less thermical stress and sadly the 3770 wont work in the imac, its a shame from apple they not did not upgraded the EFI to support 3rd gen CPUs... n the 880M even wont work, so all back to normal(2600 + the old AMD card).
-
bcs im waiting for my replacement mainboard for the M6800 i started to shop some stuff for the 7720 to make it comparable to actual notebooks(except the number of threads the CPU can work with 😄) Service Tag: C9GP6H2 so u can see original configuration. Original Configuration --> planed - ordered - already done/delivered: Intel i7-7820HQ --> Intel Xeon E3-1575M v5 2x 8GB DDR4 2400 CL17 --> 2x 16GB Kingston HyperX DDR4 2666 CL15 nVidia Quadro P3000 6GB --> nVidia Quadro P5200 16GB 1x 512GB Toshiba XG3 NVMe --> 1x 512GB Samsung 960 Pro NVMe + 1x 1TB WD SN730 NVMe WIFI AC --> WIFI 6E Windows 10 Pro --> Windows 11 Pro Stock SSD Heatsinks --> 2/3mm full Copper Heatsinks upgrades for later: 1080p Screen --> 4K Screen nVidia Quadro P5200 --> RTX 5000 / 3080 / 4080 Stock Heatsink --> Cicichen RTX Heatsink

Precision 7510/7520 Owners Thread
Annihilator replied to M4980's topic in Pro Max & Precision Mobile Workstation
im happy when he only put a RTX heatsink on the original heatpipes from the 7720, 120W n still far away(always below 60°c.) from throttling, but the CPU part isnt the best, but its ok bcs still below 80°c. at full load -

will cost 100 bucks. -
ok, just noticed even USB ports doesnt work anymore, so think board is broken, just ordered new one... this means a bit of time for the 7720 and my old imac 12.2(27" mid 2011) want try a 3770 will work in it n putting the GTX 880M in it(3 heatpipe heatsink i have here since yrs)😇
-
now everything arrived, today the last 2 of the 2x 2x4GB kits arrived... time to bring the MXM slot back to life 😄 when will work out, will start the 7720 upgrade thread.... bcs the 2666MHz C15 mem arrived too, n watching a 2933 kit, maybe will take it n give a try, would be fab when it works.

i really would like to do a shunt mod on the M6800, bcs this 61W limit is annoying, temps around 70-72°c.(n not lapped the heatsink yet bcs was out of 1k n 1.2k sandpaper) full load so think still 20-30W more possible for the cooler before CPU start throttling. need to check when open next time what for VRMs on the mainboard n how many amps they can deliver.

Dell Precision 7720 Refurbishment/Upgrade Project
Annihilator replied to Will's topic in Custom Builds
when it works let me know... need a bios flashback anyway but i not get it to put the old 1.15.1 files into the 1.40 bios container... 😬- 17 replies

MX-4 is really bad at direct-die i noticed(used too all the time before i got the MX-7), works better on CPUs with heatspreader, MX-7 is a whole new lvl, was really suprised by it. n i really dont get it, why 3x 6mm heatpipes instead of 2x flattened 8mm, thermal conductivity is the same possible slightly better with the 2x8mm bcs of bigger contact area on the base plate.

Dell Precision 7720 Refurbishment/Upgrade Project
Annihilator replied to Will's topic in Custom Builds
atm i have the 7820HQ, but when i able to run the P5200 finally in my M6800 i will do bi upgrade to the XEON + RTX 3080(maybe 4090, we will see what im willing to spend on it 😄 ) n atm i found a kingston 2933 2x8 kit, when working will take a 2x16 kit, n even seen gskill has a 2800 n a 3000 kit, maybe worth da try too... n when upgrading to RTX will take a 4k display, bcs otherwise the CPU would be a massive bottleneck n at 4k not really matters the CPU only has 3.9GHz- 17 replies

look, so no scam n 100% service, custom stuff sometimes not fit 100% like original parts, but most of those lil custom factories always try to fix it 🙂
-
im tempted to order the heatsink n put the fat heatpipes from the original heatsink on it... 🤪 edit, do u wrote cicichen bcs of the issues? i think he may will solve it
-
ahh think i got it, so the lower heatpipe doin pressure to the soundboard n bcs of that it doesnt fit?
