i know, was getting worse with turing where some companies allowed 2070M a higher powerlimit then their 2080M ones n so the 2070 was outperforming the 2080. 😄 n u can compare desktop 1080 FE vs. 1070Ti FE(has slightly more shaders then the P4200, so will couple % xtra fps) both has 180W TDP... here 4K benchmarks(so no CPU limit everywhere, system on both cards: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon, i7-7700K, 2x 16GB DDR4 3200 C14), AVR/1% low FPS: BF 1: 1080 73/69 - 1070Ti 66/61: +10/13% Destiny 2: 1080 67/57 - 1070Ti 60/51: +12/12% Metro Last Light Redux: 1080 66/42 - 1070Ti 60/40: +10/5% Middle Earth Shadow War: 1080 60/46 - 1070Ti 54/42: +11/10% RotTR: 1080 44/34 - 1070Ti 40/30: +10/13% Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Wildlands: 1080 50/38 - 1070Ti 47/35: +6/9% Tom Clancys The Division: 1080 53/42 - 1070Ti 50/39: +6/8% Warhammer 40k Dawn of War III: 1080 52/48 - 1070Ti 48/44: +8/9% Witcher 3: 1080 56/48 - 1070Ti 52/43: +8/12% means average fps +9% n 1% low +10%, n when u count down the xtra shaders the 1070Ti has compared to the P4200(which is between 1070 n 1070Ti) shaders will be around 12%. those low performance gain u mean, is pretty sure bcs of CPU limit(1080p tests), but in the GPU limit the P5200 will always clearly outperform the P4200 at same TDP limit. *%results rounded up/down -
HP Elitebook 8570W - is it still good ? Hardware modifications
Annihilator replied to GuitarG's topic in Custom Builds
will see, its a 7820HQ in it, n its possible u need to push the voltage for the IMC a bit, when u able to boot into windows u can use XTU for it. so possible the seller had a good sample where no adding extra voltage for the IMC was needed.- 303 replies

14% difference i not would call it nearly same performance(both at 100W) but yeah, they r close, n the price difference is huge from P4200 to P5200, for the 14% n double mem u have to pay more then double price 😬 on the other hand, u can cut the TDP from the P5200 to 75W n get the same performance like the P4200 but much cooler n less noisy + double mem. n still 💩 never a P6000 mobile was out(maybe prototypes), a full GP102 at 100-120W with 24GB would be really nice 🤩 -
on laptop have less issues then on desktop 😄

seen another 16GB kit on ebay... but the seller want 500 bucks for it 🤯 its double price of DDR5 😶 n atm im looking for a 32GB kit of DDR4 3200 C20, for my 7720 i just got for cheap... 😄 glad they r not rare like the DDR3 2133 ones 😄- 303 replies

have similar with my 1866 sticks(2x8GB, 2x4GB) in my M6800, 2x8GB runs at 1866 C10, 2x4GB even at 1866 C10, but put i all 4 in, has fall back to 1600 C11 😒 maybe different ICs, not checked yet but i dont care anyway, got 16GB of 2133 for "cheap"(120 bucks). 😄- 303 replies

hope so, got a grade A one for only 250 bucks, sadly is a 7820MQ n not the e3-1575M inside but will be ok, more for upgrades 😄 a 7720 thread doesnt exist here i guess, bcs not much to find when using search.... so lets finish first the M6800 project 🙃 -
ok, next step done: found n took a 4x4GB set of kingston 2133MHz mem, now just waiting for the parcel from aliexpress n the P5200 from poland from @colohgc. 😄 new palrest ordered too, the old one looks good but its sticky(really dont know why in the 2000s everyone putted those shitty coat on everything what get sticky after couple of yrs, even ferrari did on their knobs in 400k+ cars 😵💫), backlit keyboard to find with CH layout is nearly impossible, so maybe will take a look for a german one. n seen those samsung v-nand SATA SSDs have a really tiny circuit boards, will try to fit it in secondary bay without case while the "tuning" fan is in, when it fits will use raid0 with a second one... bcs whats better then speed? more speed!! 🤪 n still thinking about hailo-8 in the WWAN slot 🫠

i had a eGPU on my HP 2570p connected via expresscard slot, just for "whats possible" was nice, but really useless, bcs i never took my eGPU with me 😄 n at home i prefer a real PC -

for all those cards u mentioned u need to mod the heatsink anyway(bcs of the coils). for nearly all cards u need to flash another bios... think best for u would be a RTX 3050M 8GB or a 3050 Ti M 8GB, both have max 75W TDP n full feature set. -

anyone has 2x8GB / 4(2)x4GB DDR3L 2133 modules n no use for it anymore?

the 2000 seems like to fit in the m6800, just a bit of heatsink modding needed for the coils... stock around 15% higher performance then a P5200 but less then half power needed + all new goodies. maybe a shunt mod on this card would bring a big boost bcs chip(GB206) is the same like the desktop 5060(Ti) ones -
an 1GB IC costs around 10 bucks = 160 bucks... n for a couple bucks more u get an P5000 already 🤠 n 12GB not possible, bcs no 1.5GB ICs(only GDDR6/7)

Precision M6800 questions and upgrades

someone knows?: the cpu fan connector, its a "JST 1.25 - 4-Pin"? and any possible way to set the TDP limit higher for the CPU? the max is 61W, then the mainboard cut it, thats a bit annoying, even with vcore offset from -0.050V n cache voltage offset from -0.015V running at 4100MHz allcore/cache into the powerlimit. maybe shunt mod possible on the mainboard? -
just will order another CPU fan, fits perfect in the secondary HDD/SSD bay n can blow fresh air straight to the GPU heatsink, need to make a fan cable splitter bcs will put it straight to the CPU fan connector(should handle 0.6A in total). so few holes in the bottom cover, connect the cable, put the fan in n fresh air to the mem + GPU heatsink(will solder 2mm copper heatsinks on it for maximum performance) g).

Precision M6800 questions and upgrades
Annihilator replied to Jers6410's topic in Pro Max & Precision Mobile Workstation
sure is nice to see whats possible, but the CPU is pain in the a.... for video/photo editing bcs not enough threads, for gaming still an option, bcs most games not use more then 8 threads(some does n u will see at the min fps, but for mobile still ok). n maybe u should try 1333MHz mem, maybe the IMC will run with 64GB then. btw. someone tried a NPU in the m6800 yet? seen some modules with mPCIe standard, n some xtra TOPs can be useful in some cases. -

Annihilator replied to Jers6410's topic in Pro Max & Precision Mobile Workstation
nah n no need for, 16GB is more then enough for everything except vid/photo editing... even when u put a RTX5000 in it n a 4k display n playing maxed out + RT in games, never 16GB will be the limiting part in it(but the CPU will be). more important is mem speed n timing, 1866 should be the minimum, 2133 the optimum... atm i searching for 2133 modules n will give thaiphoon burner a try to set 2400MHz... -

just found this, even stock a 4980HQ is faster then a OCed 4770K @ 4.5GHz(which is the same CPU like a 4930MX/4940MX just massive higher TDP / Boost clocks)... so maybe will even order a 4980HQ to get those extra fps. n found a 5200P for "cheap" maybe will take it... then would be no GPU bottleneck with the 4980HQ 🤩 -

bcs here is more action then in the m6800 thread 😄 someone tried a P4200 in a m6700(will work in m6800 then too i think)? more power then the P5000 but only 8GB, but its ok bcs no RT anyway n at 1080p will be not be limiting any game(except FFXV with high res pack 😄 ) , they r really cheap to get, but only with clevo/msi bios, think wont work in a dell then with eDP?
