  1. That’s good progress. So, do you now have access to all the BIOS settings, and does the system boot normally after applying the changes? Unfortunately, the motherboard of my laptop was damaged due to a severe power fluctuation 😔. I sent it in for repair, but unfortunately, Alienware parts aren’t available in my country. That’s why I wasn’t able to send you the BIOS dump.
  2. Hey my friend! Any news or progress on the project? I’m sure that one day we’ll get this BIOS unlocked.
  3. Just having a 5080 in your AGA means you’re definitely doing it right! This laptop has won me over so much that I honestly can’t bring myself to move on to another laptop. I really like the R2 as well. The 10900K is an amazing CPU, but since there isn’t much of a difference in GPU performance and it only has two RAM slots, I decided not to go for it. After upgrading the CPU to a 9900KS, the performance has become really impressive, even though there was never a properly optimized BIOS for it and the CPU is limited to 130W. Interestingly, the CPU temperatures have also dropped significantly. I was comparing the performance of Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink, and the benchmark results with the same GPU I’m using were almost exactly identical. On top of that, I’m also really satisfied with the Area-51m’s appearance, design, and build quality. It’s a laptop I genuinely love in those respects. By the way, regarding the limitation that many people experienced with the newer BIOS versions, where GPU performance would become limited once the GPU reached around 75°C, I actually found a workaround for it. Because of that, I never had this issue even with BIOS versions newer than 1.5. I’ll post a guide explaining how to do it as soon as I get the chance. One more thing regarding RAM frequency: BIOS 1.7.3 and the older versions perform much better and are significantly more stable. There’s another point I always keep in mind: if I’m going to put a system under heavy load 24/7, constantly gaming and rendering on it, which setup is actually more reliable in the long run — an Area-51m paired with an AGA, or one of these sleek and delicate new-generation laptops with a single-piece motherboard where practically everything is soldered directly onto the board?
  4. Could you tell me how you managed to access these menus? Maybe I can study the method as well and see if I can help with this.
  5. I’m honestly really happy and grateful to see such talented and knowledgeable people on this forum. A big thank you to ssj92, janepa, and all the other members who generously share their knowledge, skills, and expertise with the community. It’s truly appreciated.
  6. I saw this and it made me really happy.👍🏼
  7. User ssj92 is also working on the same project and has made some progress. If you are familiar with this BIOS, perhaps you could work together with ssj92 and finally unlock this damn BIOS. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with Aptio or its editing environment. However, if you need any files from my side, I can provide them and help however I can.
  8. So, are you saying you can unlock the Area-51m BIOS? As far as I know, there’s no source or evidence so far that anyone has successfully done this. One of the guys on this very forum is currently working on it. If this BIOS can actually be unlocked, that would be really impressive.
  9. I don’t know which generation of Aptio my laptop’s BIOS is.
  10. How can I find out which version of Aptio it is?
  11. This laptop was produced with several different motherboards with different part numbers. Which motherboard version do you have?
  12. Within the next few days, I’ll send you several BIOS dumps from different versions. I’m just a little worried about downgrading to some of the really old versions, because I’m running a 9900KS on the laptop and my motherboard is the 2019 revision. There’s a chance that BIOS versions older than 1.5.0 might not be compatible with my setup.
  13. If you manage to pull this off, you’ll be an absolute legend! Getting a truly unlocked BIOS and finally removing all those artificial limitations is the ultimate dream. I’m seriously hoping you can make it happen!
  14. I have the full dump of BIOS version 1.7.3. I can send it to you in a few days because I’m currently traveling and don’t have access to my laptop right now. How far have you gotten so far? Have you unlocked the BIOS?
  15. I’m thinking about upgrading my Area-51m’s RTX 2080 to 16 GB of VRAM. What do you guys think? Has anyone here done it?
  16. If I can get my hands on an RTX 5080, I promise I’ll post an overall Time Spy score of over 25K 26k maybe even.
  17. Your system still isn’t fully optimized. Why did your Time Spy Graphics Score drop from 29K to 25K? That’s roughly a 20% performance loss. Now that you’ve fixed the CPU performance and achieved a 10,300 CPU score—about a 30% improvement—why has the GPU performance dropped by 20%? I’m really looking forward to seeing you post a Time Spy score above 23K overall, which should be easily achievable with your hardware.
  18. Have you finally managed to get stable performance from your card? I saw on Reddit that a user installed an RTX 5060 on the AGA but couldn’t get any display output. After replacing the card with an RTX 5070 Ti, the problem was completely fixed. Is it possible that your card is incompatible with the AGA?
  19. If you do this, you’ll be the first and only person to have achieved it and shared it.
  20. What if we don’t unlock it, but just find the hidden offsets and try to read them from RU.EFI? Since they’re hidden in RU.EFI, the important offsets show up as FFFFFF.

  22. What I mean is that I’m looking for something optimized and hassle-free. This panel can be installed as a standard replacement and is more compatible with the overall design and functionality of the R1. Of course, the 4K 60Hz panel can also be installed without replacing the cable. My main goal in buying this laptop is simply to learn, create content, and enjoy owning such a unique laptop. I’m based in Iran, and I bought all these parts from the US and UK at a very high cost and went through a lot of trouble to get them into Iran, since international shipping to Iran isn’t available. I really enjoyed seeing that you’re collecting these parts as well. I’m seriously looking for a way to unlock the BIOS on my laptop. I found a guy from Germany who managed to unlock his BIOS, but he didn’t provide any explanation about how he did it. If I can unlock the BIOS and gain full access to all the hidden settings, I’m going to do things with this laptop that would make even Dell itself freak out! 😄
  23. Link panel : https://www.blisscomputers.net/ne173qhm-nz1-v8-1-v8-0-qhd-40-pin-17-3-240hz-lcd-screen-msi-stealth1713017-149434/ Video showing the replacement of the standard Area-51M R1 display panel with a 2K 240Hz panel. You can find the panel model and the product link in the video description. In my opinion, this could be a better option than the 4K panel, especially for gaming, since it offers a higher refresh rate and is much better suited to the RTX 2080 GPU. If you’re also using an AGA, it should be more than enough for gaming. 【外星人2019款51m升级2K 240Hz刷新率电竞屏-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/VZX5rbF
  24. I found a Chinese website that shows how to easily get 3200MHz RAM running on the Area-51m R1 by enabling XMP. If any of you have 3200MHz RAM, please check it out. My RAM has a base frequency of 2666MHz, so I haven’t tested this method myself. If you have 3200MHz RAM and you’re stuck with a lower memory frequency, watch this video. I’ll post the link below. 【外星人Area 51M R1/A51MR1笔记本解锁BIOS超频内存3200 CL17教程-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/HcuDNEI
  25. I’m really happy that you solved your system’s problem.
