You're probably at the overclock limit now for a old DDR3 GPU as most DDR3 GPU memory is clocked at 900mhz and some are clocked at a high 1001mhz.

I care about it because the last thing we need for tech influencers to resort attacking other tech influencers for views, subscribers and to feed the outrage junkies like in the political space especially how toxic people can be on the internet these days. Like i said they should of handled it privately because they started a sh*tstorm where everyone is attacking LTT and added more fuel to the fire with the workplace abuse allegations going on with LTT. I doubt LTT will go under regardless even though they'll lose a lot of money and staff from this, Besides i dont watch just LTT, GN, Jay, and but i also watch other smaller not known tech channels from time to time which they do a better job than LTT and other big youtubers with their videos.

I been using the paste version of Honeywell ptm7950 which is called Honeywell ptm7950SP as i mentioned many times in this thread. During my tests of it i received similar results as the pads in the temps but the problem was its durability because as i said it would last for like 5-6 months on my laptop each time i repaste. I got the Honeywell 7950 pads on Tuesday, it took about 12 days with the cheapest shipping option on Ebuy7. Measuring it with my CPU and GPU die was the easy part but like others said removing the foil between the pad was a pain in the ass and even the tape provided didnt help much. I even wore a small piece of the pad on the CPU when removing the tape but pasted it together with the finger gloves but it seems to be fine when you see the benchmark tests. I did the tests yesterday and here are the results, i ran back to back cinebench tests the results are great as expected!. Cyberpunk 2077: Might test it again in a month or so. Overall im happy with the results!.

Again im not justifying for what Linus did but most people wouldnt be talking about this if GN didnt make a public youtube video about it calling it constructive criticism which is a big lie especially on youtube these days with influencers. Constructive criticism is one of the most overuse lies on social media especially on youtube. I think you should try the repaste again because something isnt right, Maybe with real thing or something else. The random shutdowns can also be caused by a too low of a undervolt. Yea the 40 Series GPUs are overpriced as hell. If you do build a desktop go with a 30 series GPU if you can. There are some decent deals for them even for the RTX 3080 and even RTX 3090

I was going to order the ones from Amazon but they also come from China so it'll take the same amount of time to get here anyways. This Despite the fact that Windows 10/11 already comes with a lot crapware with it even with a clean install. Getting rid most of it only decrease some RAM usage and gains some storage space, Dont expect it to increase CPU performance whatsoever. I'll still recommend using programs like O&O ShutUp10++ and others that helps disable the spyware/telemetry and other pointless features without breaking anything.

That our summers every year. The humidity makes it worst especially at night and then days later we get severe storms every time a cold front passes through. Gotta keep yourself hydrated when going outside. Might have to buy some sunscreen too to protect yourself from the hot sun.

What are your temps when running benchmark tests like Cinebench and when playing games. I think its your mixed capacity ram setup that causing the stuttering issues and/or your laptop heatsink isnt aligned property after the repaste. Also thermal throtting happens when the CPU hits around 95C and GPU temps hitting around 86C.

It actually is. Around 50% faster than the 1660ti, Mines is overclocked but still nowhere close to a 140w RTX 3060. Also RTX 3060 is the successor of the RTX 2060

I might have to be a guinea pig soon because i just ran out of the paste version of Honeywell 7950 after repasting my laptop and my GF's laptop. Seems like the average lifespan of the paste is 6 months before the temps start rising again. Amazon has a good return system if these pads are garbage then again I could always buy the real honeywell on ebay if i want it quicker than buying from ebuy

No current games are going to use over 16GBs of RAM unless its badly optimized 2023 games like Hogwarts Legacy for an example which requires having more 16GBs of RAM or it'll stutter like mad. 64GBs of RAM is a overkill unless you're doing CAD work or even 4k-8k video editing. After upgrading to 32GBs of RAM i havent noticed any FPS increases in games but it performs more smoothly plus i dont have to worry about closing firefox everytime i load up a game or something that uses almost all of my RAM. Yeah because steam runs on Chromium which is dropping Windows 7/8.1 support. Still sucks though....

Its a dumb move by AMD especially when FSR works with all NVIDIA GPUs and its open sourced. Also modders will eventually replace FSR with DLSS in AMD sponsored games like they've been doing and vice versa with DLSS only games... NVIDIA is already anti-consumer enough but now its AMD's turn.
