yeah i decided to wait till 4k series... i play racing games mainly and get 100fps in project cars 2 under extreme settings and hard to run areas in forza horizon 5 maxed i get 60fps maxed at extreme with 8aa so i guess i have no real reason to upgrade.. i still dont think the 3080 in laptops is good enough for 4k also it really is dumb and irrelevent..because Im gunning for 144fps on my display and that requires me to lower settings. generally speaking you can lowerr some settings to gain performance and have almost no effect on image quality that is without a microscope...im not much of a pixel counter but I think 1080p on a 16in laptop is fine I sit 3 feet away and don't see any pixels. I just know for a fact a 4k 120hz wuld look sharper even at 3 feet away and on a 16in....just not sure how much as ive never seen a 17 16 or 15in laptop display with 4k aside from my old 4k asus j850 or whatever it was called....back then displays were not the greatest but now...id imagine the difference might be worth it that is if the power of gpus increases 50-80percent I might have to wait 3 years for that...but thats fine I have like a 300 game backlog just have to motivate myself to game more. also I just got a funny job janitor at the bus terminal.....hope its a breeze gives me something to do and gets me off my computer for a few hours

stock cpu stock gpu stock settings...texture filtering set to high quality stock everything texture filtering set to high performance I think my highest gpu in timespy is 9200 roughly and I don't think ill be able to re create that or top it but im happy with 9000 overall with a small overclock 170/170 overclock completely stable and a safe limit

In timespy stock with settings tweaked i get 8600 gpu Its frustrating buying a laptop, you find one that looks good and it says 3080 or 3070 but you have to research what wattage it is

I was looking at buying a aero oled with the 105w 3070 which scores 20300 gpu in firestrike. I thought the 3070 would be an upgrade so I ran a test with basically stock with my 115w 3060 and scored 22500 and wonder why on earth nvidia did this to us......cough money cough greed

a 12th gen i7 and 3070 scores like 7200 I did ok lol

haha yeah I know I bet one day it will be like that, just not in our lifetimes

thats dumb....I knew it was censorship as too why games are not all VR and photo realistic. its the absolute truth they dont want people desensitized. absolute fact coming from a guy that doesn't believe in absolute anything...almost a nihlist about it.. I tried the VR mod for gta 5 and yes its cool but yeah I can see why they want it down, having a kid play gta v in VR isn't very good for there morals.

thats a beast amount of SSD storage..I have a 1tb ssd now and might buy a 2tb ssd for backup I just dont see why you would need more than 3-5tb I have like 300 steam games and other platforms like epic and I think for shits and giggles I downloaded all good or bad and i still had 1 tb left on my 5tb hdd

after blowing dust stock overclocked a tiny bit so it helped the gpu scores and temps but cpu not so much im still not at 10k where i want to be another but this time I broke 9k gpu its great and all but I have a 144hz display and need a fast cpu to push that....I spent 2300 and tbh im kinda pissed off that after 6months the performance dropped 10 percent my best ultra fs also Id like to add this beats a good 95w 3080???whats going on nvidia why are you naming a 3080 a 3080 when a not even top 3060 beats it in every metric also I almost got 5600...really close with the best cpu score ever at least for my unit

I just picked up a chrome book cx1400cn from the pawn shop..works fine not bad for 200cad...basically mint condition. I was thinking this or a tablet but I like having a keyboard, I highly recommend researching before buying a chromebook..some are utter trash and some are quite the bargin.this ones middle ground its ok....it was just a quick buy.

it helped a little bit.....not much but im sure repasting will help...im thinking thermal grizzly without metal whichever one that is... hopefully dusting thermal paste and a cooler will bring temps down also I didnt mind running 4.1ghz and a gpu overclock under 80c under stress....just now that seems like a pipe dream

Just got back from best buy bought a can of air.....sprayed my heatsinks should give me better temps also. its just that stock with this model temps are supposed to be great kinda like the helios 300, mine had a build up of dust....ill post benchmarks of r23 and time spy..i think my old max was 10k cpu in timespy and 12000 in r23 so lets see if it even matters getting and using an air can. stock singular
