NotebookTalk Show-n-Shine Thread - Show Off Your Rig Here

I heard crypto is going up, did you debate getting back into mining? Nice setup, I wish I had something similar right now im stuck with a 11800h and 8 cores with no chance of owning a server in the short term. what would you recommend cpu wise/gpu wise for starting out? -
😞 sorry I haven't ventured deep into the workings. Ill check it out and thanks alot.

My PC setup is complete and will remain until the laptop gives in, not interested in anything at the moment, 4090 is nice but I dont have an itch to do anything higher than 4k60, or 144/1080p I think im good for a few years, once I get my gt500 cooler i should be able to get 10-20 percent more performance. Also their is one glaring issue with my setup its the 6gb vram, it just isnt enough -
I wanted that nuc, but if I bought it id need to buy a monitor kb.m ect just wasn't worth it as im typically a jokebook user. i'm glad he sold it.

@Recievergood day sir. Hoping you could change the title of this to Geforce NOW: gaming without A gpu I just checked out geforce now after giving it a rest after 1 or so years and |I must say they have improved the latency dramatically and its now officially possible to game on a chromebook or a ultrabook without a gpu. I tested with the cheapest laptop I could find a lenovo ideapad 1 amd 3050u 4gb ram laptop and it was able to play witcher 3 maxed at a locked 60fps while looking native with a passible lag, basically enjoyably playable. props to nvidia for this accomplishment, if GTA 6 comes out to geforce now I think im done buying gaming laptops.

watched a few videos, color me interested. If I can overclock my cpu and gpu and not thermal throttle its a big win. My laptop display and tv are above 120hz and when the cpu matters this could mean the difference between gaming at 60fps vs 120fps on older titles. which of course is exciting. so far the only racing game I can max and get 120fps at 4k is motorsport 7 but im hopefully I can do medium ray tracing off at 4k/120 with the new forza game. fingers crossed

bought the worlds cheapest lenovo laptop. ideapad 1 with the athlon 3050u/1366x768/4gb/128gb emc/15.6in/6 hours battery life. there was literally no reason to buy this but I just had to lol. want to see how much I can tweak it and ooze out the most performance. so far I have ram usage down to 1.4gb and atlas os on it with eso on tweaked settings and its pretty fast now, but stock no one in there right mind should buy it and not tweak it, it was stuttering at 1080p on youtube now it does 4k videos without any slowdowns. its really amazing what someone can do to a computer with the right knowledge

I just bought a athlon 3050u lenovo laptop 4gb ddr4 and 128gb emmc. this thing screams, Im going to test cyberpunk 2077 with ultra settings and path tracing maxed. should be around 120fps at 4k. people say I dont know much about computers and software, but when I report back with 120fps it will be put to rest. I know all of this because its a new computer and it has to be better. everytime I get something newer its always better, super excited to be finally able to see what this amd beast is capable of lol -
just saw this on you tube, police can be suprisingly good at cracking cases even ones that are 25 years old. im not for or against this nor is this my lifestyle but alot of people enjoyed his music and wonder who did it. Now we know

quest 3, hard to justify 650 cad for 2 good vr games

yesterday morning I ordered a iets gt500 laptop cooler, everyone is saying its the best money can buy. suprisingly it only costed 124 cad with shipping. receive it on the 3rd-5th. looking forward to breaking benchmark records 😛

I booted up the game and im in the mission with the bandits that are giving the farmer a hard time. beat the bugs pretty easily now im low on ammo and am facing like 8 guys in a camp, no idea what to do i have to spend like 3000 on med packs and 2000 on weapons each mission and i only get like 5000 credit for the task, how are you supposed to progress. Sarah doesn't have a weapon and I have no idea how to give her a weapon. this is frustrating. if you new to rpgs i suggest you read a few tuts

Bah- The pads? heard nothing but great things and awesome feedback, I bought the fake aliexpress ones and as funny as it sounds they still lowered temps, just have to check out the ebuy7 one. I broke down and just ordered a Iets GT500 laptop cooler, its the best cooler that you can buy this side of homemade. Looks like i'll be seeing temps in the 70s-80s with maxed out clocks on gpu and cpu, who knows maybe ill break a record with ddr4 ram. also I feel bad about a previous post as alot of people read various posts at random from the internet and there is a alot of false info floating around. but 32gb ram is more than enough, going from 32gb to 64gb results in no performance gains and if you do see a bump it has nothing to do with the amount of ram unless of course your loading 4 games in windowed mode with chrome playing 100 songs at the same time in the background, but yeah 0 gain. 48gb however(?). my safety is it was free. and I found out my ddr4 performs better than some ddr5 thanks to tighter timings. posted this at the same time, but FG3 from AMD, this is just wicked good news for me and my 3060. might spark another glimmer of life in its longevity if there even is with laptops -
meh just like witcher and rdr2, I found it repetitive also, but nothing I wouldn't expect from a space rpg. pretty ambitious to have 50 star systems plus and keep it varied, I think they bit off more then they can chew, honestly the game is awesome if you go in with low expectations and just imagine its a bit more real and get involved. but if you dont meh. alyx is the same way but the immersion is forced thanks to VR. if it was just a game in 2d it would be pretty boring. just waiting for a starfield vr mod, now that would be incredible.

after seeing how forza 8 will need a 2080ti 2070 doesnt seem bad at all. just happy its coming and not too demanding
-
with forza motorsport coming out on october 10th I will have to overclock my gpu and cpu to get playable framerates at 4k. So I broke down and just ordered a GT500 through amazon, came to 123cad with shipping included should have it on the 5th and will report back with results. I will be using max fans on my laptop and using max fan on the GT500 no point in buying something if you don't use its full potential. fingers are crossed but oddly I feel excited 😛

bought a tablet for real racing 3. been playing that a little bit taking a break from forza and starfield.

sad to hear. my condolences go out to you and your family. no one should have to go vr less for more than few hours let alone days. 😞

I was using stock windows for starfield as typically I get the best performance over modded windows. The game looked butt ugly and I was under the impression thats just what it is. I randomly decided to mod windows to Atlas OS and then booted up the game, all the sudden textures were high resolution and the effects were vivid. pretty awesome change in graphics and I must say this game looks pretty good considering how large it is, Ive only checked out like 5 of 1000 worlds
