Microsoft's next goal is to squeeze out Ccleaner out from the market. Ccleaner's parents company Avast is already affected by Microsoft's security suite baked into their OS. They eat their own cooperation partner one by one. This just mean we will see even more bloat comong from Ccleaner and in Avast AV suite.

Microsoft is working on its own CCleaner-like PC optimizer for Windows 11

    Windowslatest.com - October 21, 2022

Windows isn’t really great at handling software as it wouldn’t automatically clean your registry entries and folders for all apps. The remaining files of uninstalled apps are all over your system, and it’s believed that the end result could be a slower PC. As a result, PC optimizer apps like CCleaner are popular among users.

If PCs tend to feel clogged up and sluggish, users download and install PC Optimizer, Registry optimizer or cleaner apps. It’s not surprising, though. It is widely believed that speeding up a system is cleaning it thoroughly and removing the leftovers of past programs.

There are several tools for speeding up a cluttered PC, but it looks like Microsoft is planning to join the train too. Over the past several years, Microsoft has been trying to make Windows faster and native apps smaller in size by pushing updates through the Microsoft Store instead of bundling everything with the OS itself.

speaking of CCleaner, check out this article from Softpedia News - CCleaner Review: Is It Still Relevant for the Latest Operating Systems?

time to update again.  if you were unable to make a modded 6.0.9500.1 MSI driver, you can now scrap those plans and go straight into doing a 6.0.9514.1 driver instead as the 9514 driver recently came out (as mentioned by Virgoliciul97 several hours ago)

Maybe this will force Google to change their mind?

Mozilla Firefox may continue support Windows 7 and 8.1 for longer

Mozilla may extend Firefox on Windows 7 and 8.1 support. The company has scheduled its end of support for January 2023, but now considering shifting the EOS date.

Mozilla recently just did extend/continue Windows 7 & 8.1 support for Firefox until late 2024

Firefox gives Windows 7 and 8 users more than one extra year of support

Firefox will support Windows 7 and 8.1 until 2024 via the ESR channel

  4. aaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhh!    GGGGggggggrrrrrrrr!     MSI is still at it again this week 😠

MSI recently posted a new Nahimic APO4 driver for newly released MSI Vector GP68 HX 12V laptops - v4.9.7.0

and there was a Realtek UAD/DCH 6.0.9486.1 driver available (was released last week on March 17 for newly released MSI CreatorPro M16 B13V laptops) but the MSI web site wasn't yet updated at that time until either earlier today or yesterday to mention it

well solidus1983, MSI is recently at it again - releasing 6.0.9492.1 of the Realtek UAD/DCH audio driver for MSI desktop boards on Monday March 20.

as for the Nahimic APO4 driver - it's still 4.9.6.0 but MSI has updated the APO4 Extension driver to 1.5.7.0.

and as for Nahimic APO3, the latest one is still 3.5.6.0 from my previous post

MSI finally updated the realtek_audio_N_APO3.zip & realtek_audio_N_APO4.zip packages to include the 6.0.9492.1 driver as well (previous version of these packs had 6.0.9336.1 released around mid-April 2022)
though the updated Realtek audio + Nahimic APO3 package has the outdated 3.5.0.0 APO SWC driver but the updated Realtek audio + Nahimic APO4 package has the newest 4.9.6.0 APO SWC driver.

i'm still waiting for MSI to post a full set of driver downloads for newly released Vector GP68 HX 12V, 13V & GP78 HX 13V model laptops on their web site (currently the only driver download available for these models is the lone "Mouse Driver")

I know this thread is about nahimic but honestly it made no diff for me. I'm not getting louder sound. however you guys can try dolby atmos (dolby access in WS) and setup for headphones and crank up custom EQ to max all channels. I usually get twice the volume and clarity out of my gaming laptop and weezer. it's one of the first things I do as I listen to music 6-7 hours a day.

    no sorry ryan.

unless Microstar International (MSI) pays Dolby the license fees to implement Dolby Atmos or whatever on their PCs & desktop boards (and MSI tells Realtek to write a specific Realtek extension MSI INF file that adds Dolby), that will not be happening any time soon

if you really want Dolby Atmos or another Dolby enhancer, get either an ASUS or Lenovo brand machine since those manufacturers have the proper licenses to carry Dolby

  7. that's ok.  I also have a busy schedule with some important family matters as well

here's the link to the nahimic apo3 swc v3.5.6.0 driver (driver date for this one is 11/21/2022)

edit 3/13 - doing a bunch of file comparisons and checking the DLL & EXE file properties of most of the driver files, while the NAHIMICV3apo.dll file was actually still the same version from the 3.5.3.0 to the 3.5.6.0 driver versions (only difference is with the updated MS digital signature date & time), the 3.5.6.0 driver does contain updated Nahimic Service [ex. NahimicService.exe] & Nahimic Notification System [NS] files (NhNotifSys.dll & NhNotifSys.exe)

@epguy3 didn't realise you do the same thing as me. Also thanks for the update regarding the new drivers. Once i have time will get around to making a new pack.

indeed I do on some occasions but I have not release them publicly (hence they're currently private ones).  and some of the drivers for some older Gigabyte laptops (some of the older Aorus or Aero series models with 10th gen Intel or 11th gen Intel CPUs) do bundle the Clevo inf files {ex. HDXClevo.inf} + Nahimic APO, instead of the pure Gigabyte inf files (ex. HDXGigabyte.inf}.  I consider those specific laptop models Gigabyte/Clevo hybrids

Mokichu has updated his realtek uad asus SS3 (sonic studio 3) drivers a few days ago that has Nahimic APO3 SWC driver v3.5.6.0 for Sonic Studio 3.

I'll try to post up the new apo3 softwarecomponent driver version later today or early tomorrow

also, Nahimic 3 uwp app updated to 1.9.17 from ms store

  9. missed one update Papusan -

    KB5019179 - Windows 10 LTSB 2015 version 1507

seems a few others have "missed" mentioning that update as well (except for the folks at deskmodder.de & the bleepingcomputer article has been updated to mention the KB5019179 update for v1507 ltsb 2015)

and nope - no performance loss after installing any one of those updates onto my Win10 PCs (but no performance gains either)

StartAllBack has posted an update already, and Start11 posted a "beta" update which you can find on their forums with a full release imminent.

Stardock's Start11 app has been updated to version 1.41 on March 7, which is fully compatible with the KB5022913 update:

  11. I privately do modded gigabyte based realtek drivers, even ones with Nahimic apo3 and/or apo4 integrated and I only get minimal crackling sound on my Gigabyte motherboard & running Win10 22H2 build 19045 (I won't upgrade to Win11 since my Gigabyte board is definitely not compatible with Win11 and does not even have UEFI & using a Socket AM3+ based AMD cpu).  I really don't have any serious issues with either Nahimic apo3 or Nahimic apo4 on there.

looks like MSI is at it again.  this time the 6.0.9475.1 driver is now offered/listed for more MSI laptop models like Pulse 15 / Pulse 17, Crosshair C12V (both Crosshair 15 & 17), Katana 15/17 & Sword 15/17 13th gen Intel based models - ex. Sword 17 A13V recently has 6.0.9475.1 instead of the older 6.0.9452.1 version - the release date of the 9475 driver is 2/21/2023 for these other MSI laptops)

MSI also recently posted versions 6.0.9464.1 & newly released 6.0.9481.1 as well (realtek updated the RltkAPOU64.dll file to 11.0.6000.1096 for 9481)

  12. I hate to say it but Win11 22H2 build 22621 has sort of been a buggy mess so far.

    maybe downgrade to Win11 21H2 build 22000 or either Win10 21H2 build 19044 or Win10 22H2 build 19045.  I know this person doesn't recommend using nor upgrading to Win11 22H2 yet.

and I guess that's why MSI was so reluctant to package new Nahimic APO3 3.x drivers as the problem seems to occur on certain MSI brand systems only, while the APO3 v3.5.3.0 driver works fine with no problems for non-MSI systems & is packaged for other name brand OEMs like Dell (for some of their Dell Alienware & G5/G7 laptop models; and I haven't heard nor seen complaints about the APO3 3.5.3.0/3.5.4.0 versions on Asus systems)

  13. there once was a nahimic apo3 3.5.2.0 driver version (it was included in a few of mokichu's old unofficial asus drivers many months ago but he no longer keeps old versions of his drivers once he releases new versions)

edit- fortunately, the driverpack.io site has a copy of the old nahimic APO3 3.5.2.0 version

also, ask grskull here what Windows version is being used; Win10 or Win11 and which specific version {like Win10 22H2 or Win11 22H2} (or does the problem occur on both Win10 & Win11)

I was NOT kidding about this - MSI had recently been posting new Realtek audio drivers in bunches

v6.0.9459.1 recently released for certain MSI Cyborg 15 A12V/A13V series laptops, along with a Nahimic APO4 4.9.6.0 SWC driver package.

The latest driver that ASRock provides are 9030.1 (2020/11/27) for Realtek and 1.4.15 for Nahimic (2021/2/3)
I will try to add the hardware ID and report back if it works.

dang you're so effin' behind on that one with 9030.1.  there was a 6.0.9231.1 driver for your ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 board, Tiki.

heck, there's even a 6.0.9448.1 uad nahimic driver package from ASRock, even though it's not specifically listed for your board; the 9448 driver should work on there.  ASRock, however, hasn't offered a newer Nahimic utility version for your board (geez they're kinda lazy since that 1.4.15 version is so outdated and has a really old version of the Nahimic APO3 SWC driver)

try these newer Nahimic utility downloads from ASRock (download 1)  (download 2)
-Nahimic uwp app bundled is 1.8.9 and also includes the Nahimic APO3 SWC driver package.

and if a newer Nahimic APO3 SWC & extension driver is needed, download & run this ASRock Nahmic APO3 driver package. (has SWC 3.5.0.0 and ASRock Nahimic extension 1.2.2.0 driver)

  15. oh well, happy new year 2023, solidus1983.

Now the MSI web site in the 1st week of 2023 has a bunch of new 13th gen intel based MSI laptops listed (including a new "Cyborg" series)

there were also 6.0.9430.1, 6.0.9433.1, 6.0.9437.1, 6.0.9448.1 & 6.0.9452.1 realtek audio drivers available specific of these new MSI laptop pcs and have also released new Nahimic APO4 SWC 4.9.4 drivers , one of them which includes the nahimic 1.5.0.0 extension apo4 driver and another APO4 4.9.4 driver package that includes nahimic 1.5.2.0 extension driver.

it's almost a "storm" of new drivers from MSI after about more than 3 months of nuthin' from MSI since the 9414 driver version

guess MSI decided to release a new Realtek UAD/DCH driver right before the New Year's 2023 holiday - realtek_audio_R.zip package recently updated to 6.0.9452.1.

I did not expect this from MSI sooner rather than later.  so I kinda take back most of my statements from my previous post.

also, get the latest realtek audio console uwp app from pal1000 (latest one he has is v1.41.289.0)

  17. nah i don't think so.  latest realtek uad/dch driver from MSI so far is 6.0.9414.1 released late Sept. 2022.
