  1. Make a bootable usb via Rufus , throw the bios on it. Boot the USB stick with the bios execute the commands PRR2.exe then fpt.exe -f m17xr4.bin -bios
  2. I just slapped a RX 570 in mine las5 night. I have not ran any test on it yet since it was late in the night.
  3. Just like the topic, I would like to know where to buy the hard drive clip. I accidently popped mine out when I took it apart. Thank you.
  4. Better to answer late than never. I had a 700 watts flex 1u psu in that build. I am working on a 2nd one right now. I'll update with pictures once i get a chance. This time , just , mobo, psu, gpu and 18" screen. I just got my hands on a 850 watts flex psu too.
  5. How do you guys install Windows 11 ? What's the process? I am on windows 10 right now. TIA
  6. Thanks bro , I just signed up. Do you know what % is the coupon? Side note: Also, on a different subject, I have a question. My m18x R2 keyboard is not working, but lights are on. Did you ever ran into this kind of issue before and resolve it? None of the button works. I took apart the whole laptop and cleaned it, it was the last thing I did before keyboard stopped working. Edited: Nevermind, i got it working. I blew in the ribbon connector and that solved it, lol. Edited 2: The keyboard issue was something else. It wasn't blowing into the keyboard connector, it was the macro ( far left, 5 buttons ) keys that was preventing the keyboard from working. I replaced it with another macro and it solves the keyboard issue, so random.
  7. Anyone ordered the new Alienware 18 Area-51 laptop yet? I love the new design. Anyone got any suggestions on getting a coupon? I know @ssj92 always got some kind of info on obtaining a decent discount coupon. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/alienware-18-area-51-gaming-laptop/spd/alienware-area-51-aa18250-gaming-laptop/useaa18250hcto01#customization-anchor
  8. Just an FYI , I had some issues with a GTX 1080 also back in notebook review forum, I don't know if there is an archive of my posts, but I did get it running in m17x R4 , with multi flashes , using both 60hz and 120hz screen. It was a pain to test the GTX 1080. It was a Zotac brand.
  9. I have the G18 RTX 4080 Gen 1 , its holding up fine. I bought it when it firt came out. I also upgraded it with a Scar 18 rgb led lid and a mini led 250hz panel, still running flawless.
  10. Yes it does work. I've tried it on the m17x R4 or the Ranger. I forgot , maybe on both lol.
  11. It is possible it will work as the board is small. I'm sure you can find a pocket somewhere in the chassis for the board. After that, you just need to find low profile usb C to A cable to run the board and you are set.
  12. Yes I agree it's very obvious. And just to have a solid proof about the mini-led in the G18, I recently bought a G18 at Best Buy with RTX 4080 for around $1640 before tax ( The price is due to Customer Satisfaction), and I upgraded it to that same Mini-Led. You can see the resolution and the 250hz and the Peak brightness of 1,015. I took a picture of the G18 and also a snippet of the screen shot. I originally wanted to get the Scar 18 RTX 4090 , but no luck finding it at a good price. lol
  13. I might have a stash of it lol.
  14. Bro, did you not read the message. It's a stock floating wallpaper from Microsoft that changes every few minutes, you can't crank the contrast or saturation. You can adjust brightness. I know it's hard for you to believe because you read specs from the manual and it does not say the G18 comes with a Mini-Led. He could have modify or upgrade it himself. But anyway, I rest my case lol. You can believe what you want. I know what I saw in person.
  15. You can tell the difference , a lot. Look at how much rich the color and details on my picture. Edited: The picture was taken with a camera phone. That is just the wallpeper from microsoft. Nothing manipulated.
  16. I can assure you that it was a mini-led screen. Here is another picture that I took.
  17. I actually don’t know. My friend already left back home.
  18. The screen is 18" 250hz, I believe it's QHD too. I do not know the model number.
  19. The one he has does not have backlight bleed as his is a Mini-Led screen. The models that are sold here in the US has light bleed and I agree 100%.
