I tried to get my 5970 running today on the 10850k but holy hell does it not like Windows 10. I got it to fail, which worked! then applied an overclock and poof it was all gone again lol. I might try again in the near future but I am getting that feeling that Windows 7 will be much easier for that era of hardware. For now I am making the 10th gen system my DD and retiring the AM4 to a new role. Linux. I want to get the Linux side of the forum beefed up, Hiew was admonishing me for trying linux so many times on Laptops that I have modified heavily (thus a lot of drivers didnt work at all) so I plan to give it a try on the AM4 system and perhaps make some guides of my experiences. If I can get my hands on a cheap 5800X3D then it can be the part-time GPU bench system. -

Did some research with the GTX 970, looks like it has modding potential for up to 280w-300w and 1.3v so it looks like its going to get a second run. All I did is crank it to the max as is. :) -

It's practically on the window with 4 window fans dumping cold air on it (and me lol) It would be better probably next year to do the benching in the garage with the door cracked open. That way it doesn't really matter to me :P -

Im thinking the only way to get higher is shunt modding the cards, 10c ambient only brings me about 22c starting temperature, the air cooler cant keep things below 40c. The moment I hit 60c I lose 2100Mhz and 1.1v Might look into doing that with my 5700xt's first though, I have more of them and arent as much of a loss in terms of investment lol -

If I had a GTX 970 that ran parity to a 3080Ti it would be quite the marvel indeed 🙂 I'll add my TS scores in just a second, screens are on a different PC -

Some new scores for the 3090 with the Galax vBIOS Probably it for now, I plan to get one of my precisions up and running again for some cinebench runs, 20c/40t dual CPU workstation. I also have a 4790k I recently picked mainly for Plex server but I can get some runs done with it. -

I think my body will give out before I reach 0c in my bedroom lol I'll wait 10-15 minutes before the next run and see if that will do the trick. I also reversed the PC orientation so that the GPU is pulling cold air straight from the window fan instead of being the furthest thing from. Laptops are very difficult to manipulate these days. -

meanwhile I cant seem to crack 2100Mhz for an active clock during benchmarks, keeps going back to 2085Mhz on the rtx 3090 -

So for some reason both of the Vega's dont like working anymore, going to try DDU in a bit and try again. They work fine until about 15-20 seconds and then the system crashes as a whole. I have a suspicion its Windows update doing what ever the hell it wants and crashing my system since the interval feels fixed. The 3090 with the Galax vBIOS doesnt seem to pull more than 450w still, confirmed the vBIOS power limits in GPU-Z but I suppose I didnt try Furmark yet. I did score about 400 points higher iirc before I went to sleep last night but figured there was more in the tank so I didnt make any submissions. Around 800 points in a couple of days, was hoping to take back the #33 position for the team but I may run out of hardware before that lol -
The first Gunner Arc A380 card in MXM format has been released

I was pushing IIRC 86w on the m5100 for the M4600 some time ago, though its true the m4800 is a bit of a step down in terms of cooling. Would be interested in trying one, I wonder if they have some MXM-B type cards -

You what would be the ultimate insult to Nvidia and all the other vendors is if EVGA continued to by other Vendors GPU's just to build their own and continue to set new records with each new generation. Probably wouldnt happen but would make for great entertainment. -

Finished GPU benchmarks with the RTX 3080, now going through GTX 970. Should wrap up the standard stuff tonight and might still have attention left for Vega 56 -
I just pinged @Hiew about it, we intend to get something setup next weekend :)

Agreed, I do appreciate the remake, though Im unsure of the terminology anymore. Remake doesnt seem quite right but Im sure they did a lot of work.

Hey thanks for sharing, anything I should know in regards to the flashing or is it "plug and play" since its just going from one 3090 to another? I was only able to pull about 450w from the 3090 on the EVGA OC vBIOS. Read on their forums that it should be 500w after a certain point. Power limit seems to be 119 on mine which I think means it already has that vBIOS (not the provided, but the EVGA iteration). Honestly shouldve done this a while back, I've been in a state of high functioning depression. Benching this week is giving me something to do and I owe much to Prema for all his work over the years. -
Its a solid remake but I dont see it justifying the price tag Oddly this will likely outsell the callisto protocol, havent been hearing anything good about that title.

Must be light, this system has largely been unused up until this week. Temps are good, otherwise I wouldnt be able to hold 130w on an air cooler 🙂 Not setting any records but am getting some points I think I also have Vega 56, GTX 970, GTX 295, HD 5970, HD 4870x2, RTX 3080, GTX 1070. I could probably go back and re-run the 5700xt stuff, I have 5 of them to test for best performance but that will be much more time consuming. -

Taking advantage of Snow Week here in DFW. Time to get us some points for TeamPrema With all that being said, I dont have fancy cooling, all air, so my window is open to keep the temps low. Any vBIOS I can flash for my EVGA RTX 3090? Non KingPin -

tl;dr hwbot is a pain. https://hwbot.org/submission/5188060_reciever_3dmark___fire_strike_geforce_gtx_690_13587_marks?recalculate=true Bumped it up to 17th https://hwbot.org/submission/5188063_reciever_3dmark___fire_strike_extreme_geforce_gtx_690_6859_marks?recalculate=true Hit 18th. -

Thank you both, that did the trick. I just did a simple cut and paste no idea why hwbot would throw such a fit over it. Looks like single 690 will be pretty far reaching since this is just an aftermarket cooler but it took 20th, it seems there are less results for 2x 690. Here I am without an SLI bridge. Tried to enable in the nvidia control panel but the scores are the same. -
