  1. That reminds me I need to buy some bridges again, last batch never made it to the house. Found someone local that has one, and a pair of GTX 280's for 30 bucks. Gonna pick it up and go take a peak at Microcenter on Friday.
  2. Please god no, as much as i love telling me people no at work, its annoying when its tell them the same thing a dozen times an hour. (For having not seen the SuperBowl)
  3. Bingo. As previously stated, using swear words is in my view, lazy. You can achieve much more by articulating your intended message. Often times, you will get much more meaningful engagement as a result. @ryan The reason why you feel like you are always getting your hand slapped is because of the great frequency to which you ignore the rules. I go through great efforts to clean up your posts, merging them, or deleting posts that you could've hidden yourself (as all members have the ability to hide their own material). So I let you know when I have to make those changes but sadly, you dont seem to reflect and continue as usual.
  4. So streaming to SteamOS uhh let's say it's a work in progress. On to retrying Manjaro
  5. I had used that in the past with an HP t630 and for what its worth it did pretty good. There was some oddities in the behavior but was pleasantly surprised
  6. I still havent been able to get the second drive writable and as a result havent used the PC pretty much at all. Drive is located /dev/sdb1 but terminal says its not a directory. Tried a few guides but none of them worked. Guess I'll look for another distro, Im an idiot, but this seems to be unusable.
  7. I will follow up via PM so as to not encourage derailment Really depends on surrounding locale and its culture.
  8. Pretty much every place I worked at I was very open about job hunting; wasn't flaunting more of a chance for them to find a replacement. From what I hear leaving a company is much more hostile than in pretty much any other country where 1-3 months is the time for notice of departure where as here in the US its only two weeks and often shown the door the day of submitting notice. Disorganization around Tech is much less structured than I would like to see, mostly because a lot of companies don't have procedures in place, and if so don't enforce them. Couple that with an abused salary structure and Tech generally becomes a regrettable choice in the moment.
  9. Technically, that was with us as well lol Luckily the previous Super Moderator was able to convince TechTarget to bring back the forum for a week to give us a chance to "decide where we go".
  10. Yep, plenty of posts regarding the topic. You can find all of the older posts from NBR on the NBRchive
  11. Heck by that time I won't be able to touch anything period correct lol hopefully by that time AMD will have stronger offerings :( Papusan, haven't had any issues on my end but I'll ask Hiew to take a look tonight when he's free from work.
  12. At some point I will need to replace what I have, I am concerned this synthetic trend will still be in place when that time approaches.
  13. Windows decided it needed my attention screwing with my mouse, so I didnt get too much time with it today, but Ace Combat 7 worked straight out of the box, no tweaks or anything needed. Going to try my PS4 controller next and see if it plays nice or not, even Windows typically works better with DS4Windows.exe (at least in my experience) I'll try your commands in a bit, I would love to try things like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Monster Hunter World and MGSV:TPP controller works via USB, havent tried anything wireless yet. Even if Steams reasons werent selfless, the result is great thus far.
  14. Not sure how much this holds up anymore with all the different SKU's but in "simpler" times it basically boiled down to this. GTX 460 = Best value GTX 470 = Dark horse GTX 480 = King, worst value Just like how... GTX 1060 = Value GTX 1070 = Dark Horse GTX 1080 = King An oversimplification, of course.
  15. Which is why @cylix can buy a 560Ti for 20 Euro, you're side stepping the point. If all that mattered in that context was performance, discussion would not take place in the first place. In other news I noticed a micro-stutter in the mouse of the 10850K system and couldnt get it to behave normally. Which was super odd considering AM4's issues with USB. It looks to be related to Windows though, loaded into WinPE and the problem is gone. Im guessing Windows 10 did some shenanigans while I was at work today. Completing a reset now. EDIT: Reset didnt fix it, resolved myself to a clean sweep via flash drive installation and poof the problem goes away. Sometimes its the smallest of things that annoy you the most, being perceptive sucks sometimes lol
  16. That would actually be interesting
  17. 560Ti MSRP = 250 USD in 2011 3060Ti MSRP = 400 USD in 2023 1 USD in 2011 is about 1.32 in 2023 250 USD in 2011 is about 331 in 2023 3060Ti MSRP = 400 USD - 331 = 😞
  18. It's a shame you are in Europe I have too much workstation-esque hardware that would be a decent fit for that platform.
  19. From what I read the v1 boards are difficult to update to the v2 BIOS so that will save you a lot of head ache if you intend to upgrade the CPU's later
  20. I installed the 4000mah battery into mine, gets around 16 hours of max screen brightness and "OC". I also replaced the shell with an aftermarket one off of Amazon Lent it to my coworker so he would have something to do on the plane while flying to Vietnam. When ever I'm killing time I would often play metal slug anthology :) Interested in the oled panel but not really needed until my panel fails
  21. Can always start out by making a retro thread in the desktop subforum :)
