  1. just to add to the Microcenter deals https://www.microcenter.com/product/651403/gigabyte-g24f-2-238-full-hd-(1920-x-1080)-165hz-native-180-o-c-gaming-monitor 129 for 24" IPS 165hz 1080p panel
  2. Sounds good, glad he is fully engaged. It wasnt that long ago it looked as though he was in a very dark period of his life. 100%, Falk was always irate over details but thats what made Falk, Falk. Always appreciated his input.
  3. Found it strange that Falkentyne never made it over to this forum considering how active he used to be. I figured he was taking a break or something
  4. Very interesting, didnt expect to see an mxm module for Intel quite yet
  5. Kinda got that point in your first post. Pocketable Linux devices have been around for a while, none of them were enticing enough for me personally but perhaps the landscape has changed since I last looked closer at it.
  6. @GeekBear80 please stop double posting so often. Thanks :)
  7. Well I dont have any payments on my devices, nor do I connect any finance to my phone, I remote to my PC at home for that sort of thing. Debit and Cash takes care of all of my needs. Though others may see differently, which is fine. I didnt claim that it solves everything, just that it gets me back to AOSP feel as I had used it around the time the M7 was prominent. That with GrapheneOS puts another layer for permissions across the board even Gapps with ties to finance. You have given up, however so I guess this is a dead horse. I use my phone to surf, moderate and admin this forum. It serves me well in those regards when we have reports that quickly need attention.
  8. Naturally, its but one tool. You may have interest for this as well, though it only works on a limited set of devices. https://grapheneos.org/features I personally miss my M7, most mod-able phone I ever had. Still supported I think in those circles.
  9. I just Nova Launcher to get back to the AOSP feel of things
  10. Yeah I don't think anyone is getting a 4090 for 8k outside of Jensen himself I did enjoy playing Dead Space 2 @4k120 with my 1070 but that was using a couple of applications to get it there.
  11. I don't know, it's hard to beat FR99 lol I don't have any issues with its brightness even in the middle of the day with a light on
  12. Neither of those systems come with official support. If they didn't support windows out of the box it would be a highly illogical choice to make based on that criteria. You would probably be looking at Dell since they officially support Ubuntu iirc and maybe perhaps Lenovo.
  13. Yeah they do pretty well for that these days. I prefer my psp though :D
  14. Mgpu is around, only difference is amd/Nvidia have no plans to support it. So it's very dev dependent.
  15. When ever I fall on hard times I tend to low backwards than forwards in terms of gaming/entertainment. Cell phones can do wonders with emulation these days, but I also have a PSP for emulation. In fact tomorrow I will be finishing up a big battery mod so it can last around 15 hours with full brightness and mild overclock.
  16. Even if all the members left tonight, the forums would remain :) Welcome to the forums!
  17. https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Performance-Internal-SP002TBSS3A55S25/dp/B07Q37V1C9/ref=sr_1_4?crid=J9BMD9005UTW&keywords=2tb+ssd&qid=1667618469&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1Ljk1IiwicXNhIjoiNC45MyIsInFzcCI6IjQuNDkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=2tb+ssd%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0 A friend of mine saw this yesterday, figured I would share :)
  18. It would be a lot of trouble, but in theory the 8th gen chip would give it some extra legs. 1080's still do pretty well when tuned
  19. It could also be that AMD is trying to deflate the hype train. Honestly considering how many times people expect AMD to take them to the moon only to be shown the observatory has hurt their image just as much as their marketing for Vega did.
  20. I suspect this to be largely true, save for they also set the precedent for failing to do anything with the HEDT market. Sadly, this means they have precedent for two truths to be in play. Supporting a platform for the masses such as AM4, of which I benefit from personally (my bias) and also ditching HEDT which also expected (whether justified or not, I dont know) that support. Though, its also true (sadly) that most of the AM4 market will not know this or care, while the HEDT market is probably pretty miffed since on an individual level, invested much more into that platform by comparison. This isnt to throw shade on AMD, just that I was hoping for them to have a cleaner record generally.
  21. All roads lead back to the soldering iron. Recently had to fix my own tools at work since the "engineering department" only manages to scratch off the pad rendering it destroyed. Since I had been following a fair number of exploits by various NBR members I knew I could lightly scratch the covering for the trace and soldered a wire to the pin for my usb port. Fully operational. Sometimes I question engineers lack of motivation. Career specialist best by a 10 dollar iron and 10 minutes of youtube lol Though I did try to use solder wick as solder and without paste, while not plugged in. Baby steps. Next little project is soldering a 4000Mah battery to my homebrew PSP, I think its supposed to be good for 15+ hours of continuous use after that. Not my idea of course.
  22. If there was improvement to be had, definitely. Gets tricky though on air, dont want to recycle hot air and all that
  23. Looks like prices went up instead of down. ebay/microcenter are at 400 versus 329 and 379 from yesterday lol
  24. May want to add your general location, may help with enticing potential sellers along with any Marketplace feedback. Welcome to the forums :)
