  1. hi all, i went into loving to experiment new thing and decided to make a dell poweredge r730 server rack as gaming pc, but till now i come out only with problems , even if there are some video on yt showing that this machine is capable of running games just fine. first problem was to make ssd nvme in pcie slot bootable. now i can boot using clover usb drive, but injecting nvme efi into bios i think is possible as there is some tutorial for other dell server workstation. second big problem is vga... i picked un an intel arc a770 and it give me whea uncorrectable error everytime i try to install a driver, chiposet vga no matter it give me that bsod. i then find out that bios doesnt even have resizable bar support, but for that too there is a github project... i would like to get some opinion about that and if all this project can be made . server just work fine with an old nvidia 9800gt. my question now is: to make intel vga compatible with this server , do i need to check gop version, biuos support or what can caouse the bsod im getting ? i know i could have get a desktop pc straight away, but was liking toi get into server software , config and capabilities to get new know how on the argument. ps: system has 2x 14 core cpu and 128gb ddr4 2400mhz with dual 750 watt psu.
  2. hi for the keyboad software look for HK.5.0001.1.54 on clevo official site. Hot Key software. for the bios ask viktor. he helped me with that. but better tell us what bios u currently have and what ec bios version u have too, because when i first flashed bios i had also to check gop version too.
  3. what temperature u have with one 1080 and vapor chamber ? because ive see lots of 1070-1080 die for too much overheating. maybe they had the single air heatsink. for nvidia driver to get installed after dsanke bios just install geforce now and it will install the latest driver just fine. at least it was that way with my clevo.
  4. hi if u can make a motherboard picture where it get power from psu. there should be one big resistor and 2 mosfet. check voltage on that big resistor multimeter set to 20 or 200dc if volt exceed that 20v ; ground on any metal of mainboard and red probe on resistor. with a picture i can give more detail.
  5. i flashed whole bios. "fpt -f biosname.rom -rewrite -y" as written on dsake guide. first "meset", with automatic reboot, then backup bios ;flash bios and then "fpt -greset" command
  6. solder an adapter on that notebook mean disassembly it and if i can skip that part is much better, so today i got the power to try flashing the bios , and in case of disaster, my steam deck was ready with programmer πŸ˜„ i used the fpt flash with viktor modded bios and all went super ok πŸ˜„ tried installing driver from latest nvidia driver file from nvidia site and all is perfectly working. best part was i didnt need to disassemble the notebook πŸ™‚ now the last think i need to do is clean the cloudy inside lcd ..... so boring big tnx to everyone who helped me
  7. hi, by rtx 3080 support i have rtx support now and my 3080 works, but i have to mod inf driver each time. iahve dedicated programmer, but flashing with that mean take apart whole notebook and i dont want to do it now. i have flashed bios like 5 times always with fpt procedure. why i cant flash it with that way ? ps: looking for viktor heatsink reply ... where are u man ?
  8. hi again to the forum. im still waiting for some info about heatsink for my 3080, and would like to get my bios to support 3080 natively. i can save my actual bios if needed. cheers to all

  10. for fix small amount of bent pins just use small tweezer with microscope and never touch the tip of the pins. just the middle part with a small wood for teeth and small tweezer ( i have fin tweezer in titanium, but on that one u have to apply very small pressure otherwise it will get into an x state and bend pins even more). have replaced like 50 socket on desktop motherboard.... some just work fine some is totally dead, same techics and so on...

  12. i saw this listing and was just interested in the vapor chamber in picture for my 3080 because some dude sell it at high price and if included in the 550 buck would be really a good deal, but there are also other bid for good notebook that include even ram ssd gpu cpu psu p775 i think with a dm3 u can also go to 9 gen and 3 rtx series.i remember dm3 and km-tm differ only in cpu heatsink (2 heatpipe vs 3 heatpipe) and maybe chipset z170 vs z270

  15. 1 message memeber... i guess u use a heatsink modified by a german dude that ask 800€for it ? πŸ˜„ in addition 50- 52Β° in full load.. or u use ur pc inside a refrigerator , or it's liquid, or u use double gpu vapor chamber....
  16. dont try to solder them.... i desoldered and to desolder them heatpipe disattached like 2 minutes earlier.... those vram heatsink will be the last think to detach... imagine reattach them; yes maybe using low solder but me too im currently using thermal paste between them and thermal pad on vram. easy and working
  17. what thickness shoud we use here ? (red circle zone) i put k9 pro on inductor and was using 3mm+2mm for mosfet and 3+3mm for capacitor , but i noticed they are too tick. maybe ill go with 3mm+1mm for mosfet and 3mm+1,5mm for capacitors ?
  18. i wonder how much that 10th gen cpu 45 watt perform compared to mine 9700k 90watt both 8 core but mine doesnt have ht.
  19. stock clock 16092 point +110mhz core no UV 16446 score and temp reached 86Β° (throttle temp start point) uv higher oc with shown profile 87Β° 16372 point uv lower oc 86Β° 16448 profile 2
  20. generally im first one to overclock a vga, but here i have 2 problem; 1st is temperature not so cold and second those vga are really expensive if fail πŸ˜„ if vga would cost like 300€ i would overclock to max no problem, but if that broke and i dont get it on sale i could spend like 1600€ to get another one 😞 also i had a 1070 never oc and after 3 or more years it never get bga problem, while ive seen lots of them on sale for spare parts because bga got bad... i think i have to fix thikness of upper card , where are all those inductor and capacitor and mosfet because there i noticed i have too much height on those pads, but i will figure it out later . now i have used 3mm+2mm height , but that is too much i think. cant use standard guide because my heatsing is soldered together and some spot is higher then normal. that viktor heatsink however is looking really good
  21. today i opened notebook again because i was not happy about screw hole allignment, so i dremel hole to make them perfectly centered, cleaned some pads and adjusted thikness of some of them and i reached max temperature of 85Β° on gpu core and 93Β° on hotspot. benchmark got higher score of 16k on 1080p high preset.
  22. p870tm and p870km are different bios right ? do u have bios for p870km for 3080 ?
  23. amazing performance. is it custom made or we can buy it ? my handmade heatsink probably has some heatpipe damaged and temp reach 86Β° on full load but air from back is not that hot... edit: on the other side does it has a big thin copper to compensate the flat design ?
