    Specification: EVGA RTX 3090 KINGPIN : https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3998-KR

Hoping to sell this here to someone who will appreciate it. It was purchased from a NBR member in NOV 2021. He purchased it March 2021 and it was still sealed when I got it. It was for a friend but their case didn't clear the radiator. So I traded cash + my 3090 XC3 for it. I used it for a month benchmarking it then after decided to sell it. Got other hobbies that need $$$ and my Titan V handles everything for now. One side of the box has a slight rip. I have no idea how this happened since the box was sitting in my shed.

    Direct Quote from XMG

"This is due to a lack of future support for the MXM form factor"

Oh I've seen this. It's not because alder lake doesn't support MXM. It's because support for MXM in general is pretty much dead. Only a few companies providing nVidia Quadro MXM cards support it at this point.

No idea how much longer that will go on but we got new Quadro Ampere based cards coming soon. Probably useless for X170 owners since they got 3080/3070 MXM cards already anyways.

Seems every company has pretty much stopped making DTRs. Looks like X170 & Area-51m R2 were the last DTRs. I still plan to upgrade my M18xR2 to Quadro A4500 (RTX 3070) when they're released this year. Quadro MXM may be the only options for current users of DTRs.

Love the R4 too. Is it possible to run p4000 in r5 with locked BIOS? I only ask because my R4 is running the locked A15 BIOS, and it works fine.

As long as it is running in Optimus mode (60hz panel) or dGPU only (120hz) it will run. I think the 17 series by default on 60hz panel run in Optimus mode?

It looks it, at the same time they are missing a trick. Yes Intel might have killed support with MXM on Alderlake however many people would snap up the chance for a Socketed AMD system with an MXM GPU.

Wait how did intel kill MXM with alder lake? MXM is just PCIe so as long as the machine is either hooked up to the dGPU directly to the display or if there's a intel iGPU there should be Optimus support.

  5. I don't see a "custom builds" section so I guess I'll just post this here.

Sorry I don't have many pics on this one. They're old and I've changed a few things around. Specs:

    Corsair 900D Case
    EVGA SR-2 Motherboard
    2x Intel Xeon X5675 CPUs
    48GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
    2 x 120GB SSD RAID0
    2x Titan V
    1x Titan Xp
    1x RTX 3090 KINGPIN
    EVGA 1600w G+ PSU
    Windows 11

    The SR-2 was released in 2010: https://www.evga.com/articles/00537/

I was in high school at the time and dreamed of owning this motherboard. Truly one of EVGA's best design.

I bought it last year actually. I looked everywhere for one and found someone on reddit local who was selling it since 2020. It was posted 9 months ago from my PM to the seller. Turns out he still had it and we made a deal on the SR-2, RAM, CPUs, Heatsinks and 900D case.

GPUs are a bit overkill but for a system like this I couldn't resist. I use it remotely and wanted to find a way to allocate each GPU to a different VM and be able to game anywhere in the house using multiple computers. Unfortunately I don't game much so it was all more for fun lol. And to be honest all my laptops besides my mac has a gaming gpu lol.

  6. $2,184.23 after tax. I was only able to get $41 savings lol.

Was hoping to get it at $2,000 after tax max. Might wait for now. My config is the i7 32gb ram, 512gb ssd, rtx 3060. Maybe I'll try another rep. I got $400 off on my Area-51m. Dude said laptop was just released but my Area-51m was also just released.

I'd like a 13" AW laptop, had the AW13 R3 but I was a bit misled (and a bit ignorant) as it has the Fn key for Graphics switching but there was no MUX on it so it doesnt actually switch anything...I had it for a year, really liked the chassis but I cant get used to the input lag Optimus can introduce.

Funny you mention this. I cannot perceive any input lag on my M18xR2 or AW 18 in Optimus mode. I think this was something more unique to that generation of laptops or the 13 itself. 13 did have input lag for sure.

    My favorite GPU design 😍

I had two in SLI and then tried a third one back in the day. Maybe one of these days I'll pick two up for cheap and put them in a old rig for fun

  8. Here's some of my pics. Ignore the "milky way" one. I somehow added the wrong pic a long time ago and never noticed.

    spacer.png

    My current gear:

Celestron C11 on Celestron CGEM DX Mount

    Nikon 600mm F4E Lens

    ASI120MC for Planets

    Nikon D500/D700/D800/D850 for DSO

    Gear used in pics:

    Celestron C11

    Celestron C9.25

    Celestron C6 Newtonian

    Orion ED80 CF

    ASI120MC

    Canon T2i

    Nikon D800

    Celestrn CGEM DX Mount

    Celestron Advanced VX Mount

Unfortunately my CGEM DX mount is having issues right now. The firmware flashed failed and right now one of the motor firmware is corrupted. Trying to see if there's any chips on the board I can flash with programmer or if I need whole new board.

  9. I have Windows 11 on a few computers now:

Alienware M14xR2 (unsupported by microsoft but you know how much more that makes me want to run it =D everything working fine)

SR-2 desktop (2x Xeon 5675 CPUs, 48GB RAM, 4 GPUs, 2 PSUs, 2xSSD RAID0, no UEFI support, but everything works well LOL)

Alienware Area-51m R1 (officially supported, all runs well)

Alienware Aurora R4 desktop (officially supported [ see sig for specs] and it works well)

My other laptops are still running 10.

I use startisback on 10 and startallback on 11. No other way I'd use either OS. I'd love to dual boot 7 on some of these computers but most of them have ax200/ax210 wi-fi cards so I'd have to wi-fi.

  10. I'm sure @kenny27 also wants this too but just to make sure, I wouldn't want to modify the chassis in any way to get new heatsinks to fit.

One that fits right in without any mods to chassis would be my preferred one. Since you are getting the nvme raptor card it will be interesting to see if we can extend cpu heatsink and also cover raptor card or keep everything separate and get a heatsink to cover the raptor card itself
