A guy made a shunt calculator along with the settings to change in gpz and hwinfo to get the correct watts. The problem I'm having is I used 1.5 which it does not calculate. 🤦♂️ Edit -

Can you show me your stock runs for PR? -

700W This one with max voltage slider. Both are with Gigabyte vbios. 761 Stock max voltage watts. Seems pretty significant increase over 600 to 636 spike watts.... -

Who knew shunting the card would show you your stock watts. 🙂 I would have given an exact number but .... well.... Amazon sent the wrong wireview. LOL Glad you found a good one to settle down with. You got me. At the last minute, I chose Amazon refurbished. The pictures and description said reversed. The one that showed up was normal. I think this was on their earlier cards because the 5090 uses normal. Edit: Normal when purchasing the angled Pro version, but reversed getting the normal version I went ahead and ordered from TG direct and the one I ordered is normal 90 degree with sensors for the Astral. https://www.thermal-grizzly.com/en/wireview-gpu-pro/s-tg-wv-90-p-h1n This is stock with no power or voltage adjusted 686W -

Well, in reality, the power limit is going to be user-controlled as you can max out 600+ watts just running at stock clocks and voltage. My stock watts right now are something like 700W. So your main friend is going to be that curve editor with any vbios you choose. There is a performance variance between the Astral and Gigabyte vbios, being the Gigabyte is better, but as mentioned you lose fan control. If you're not going for benchmarks I would just stay with the MSI vbios. I mean my MSI card ran fine for gamingon stock vbios, but was not catching anyone on benching with it. @Mr. Fox So called Amazon and they said keep it and we'll send you a refund. Gotta love Amazon! On the hunt for the right now. LOL -

So you didn't notice that stock boost clocks for the Gigabyte are 3000+, depending on temps and voltage slider? Might make things slightly higher? Also, these are really meant for people with water blocks and not stock air cooling as they wont have the same addressing for things like fans and hdmi or displayports. @Mr. Fox Wireview came today and you guessed it. It's the wrong one. 🤦♂️🤬 -

Might need to find a really good extension add-on for those types of situations. I also have a core block on order. Hopefully, it will get here this year. LOL Also trying to get another TT GF3 1650W as well. I had picked up one for a customer and now i regret not getting a second one for myself.🤦♂️ I had one before, but traded it in for the 1300 MSI, but now i'm noticing that it's GPU 12V rails are dropping pretty low and I don't want to chance it so i'm running my 1600W EVGA unit now. And now I'm regretting the decision as well. Trading my 1650 for the 1300 MSI. -

Yes, but once it gets put into an enclosed case that cable starts to retain heat and keep going up from there. I keep checking mine because it's sitting right here in an open test bench. This may have been helping me all this time, who knows, but haven't had an issue with the cable because it's always had a fan on it at some point or another. https://www.3dmark.com/pr/3403154 https://www.3dmark.com/sw/2206504 https://www.3dmark.com/sn/5680715 -

Gigabyte Xtreme Waterforce seems to be the best one. Have not tried the Astral OC as of yet. -

You know, I'm starting to think that it's because that cable connector can not handle the heat. As you posted before, the connector needs it's own mini fan. I'm running about 600W to 1000W through that cable and it's sitting at about 20C to 25C right now. -

MSI doesn't like a lot of cross flashing this time. Speculations of course. -

This has been going on since 2008 my friend. And that's when i really started over clocking and modding. This is not new now that we are at the 5090 stage. As time goes on people get fed-up so they start clamping down. Another example. Our days with Alienware and the M18X line up. And how we collaborated with them and then they came back and locked us out of the next gen 18x's. You would be surprised by how may laptops came back to them for repair because of users not know what the hell they were doing with an unlocked bios. All because we tried to be nice and think we were helping when in fact all we did was dig our own graves. And then buried our selves in them. Also, to give some insight..... I have been to a few repair centers out here and the stories I have heard pretty much some up my conversation now. No one wants to be on the losing end of a mistake made. Especially if they are bragging at how great their card is doing and overclocking, then pow, card is dead. And they forgot about all their prior post on internet about what they did before the card blew up. Like the repair center couldn't find these things out. 🤦♂️. Like they quit selling Microscopes and equipment that can find out what happen. Almost like the show Cops or The worlds stupidest criminals. And the explanations they give are just flat out ridiculous. Edit: Okay, the card is shunted and wired for volts. Thanks to yzonkers. -

I would crack down as well. As a bunch of people burnt up their cards then start playing the stupid role of...Well, I didn't do anything but play a game. I never over clock and now i want you to replace it for free. They also start throwing people under the bus when they don't get the same things as other people who are in the know. They start name dropping and crying in forums. Here is a tidbit. I know exactly how the kingpin vbios got out to the masses, but i would never tell who it was. Not my place too. Bottom line is, we can't all be in the same circles as others. These are just the facts. And one has to run with the hand they are dealt, because at the end of the day....If that was you they trusted, I know damn well you are not going to be leaking anything if it meant you losing your access to all the goodies us normal people are looking for. That would be just crazy! And for any of us to ask you for it would be putting you into a position you don't want to be in. So in that regard I would never ask you.(Just my ramblings my friend.) -

Well, that is not entirely true.... XOC bios or shunt modding seem like some reachable goals. Well at least one of those. 😂 -

Thanks. The Extreme Waterforce for now, but that may change. For the most part they all lock at 600W, but there is room for the spikes as long as it does not past a certain ms time frame. -

Hummm, pretty sure it was close to it at the time as the cpu was $2000 when it came out. And this would have been about 6 months from that time. Looking at blocks now, but may just do my card tomorrow and then wait for the block to show up. -

I have bought a dead CPU because it had the missing components needed to fix the partially broken CPU I had at the time. (7980XE) -
