  1. Ah, understood. I have a Phanteks with backplate. It was almost going to go on that 4090 LC I had last month, but that card ended up going back. Oh man, that does look nice. I might have to order one of those.
  2. Hey wait, you need a Suprim block? I still have mine sitting here.
  3. Now that all depends on the highest FE card you seen to date. Totally forgot about the board being that old, but I was also under the impression that rebar could be enabled on boards that did not have it in the bios. I would have lost that bet. Might be time to rent a system to cure your curiosity. To see first hand how much you are missing. Or not missing. 🙂 So lots of big talk Fe owners but no one wants to be first? And shunting it and putting back stock, nothing wrong with that. Just don't go over board on the over clocks and just watch the temps. Then when the blocks are ready, grab one and you are already good to go. Speaking of which, my EVC2 and shunts should be here some time today. Other alternative.....dump the card and grab anything other than an FE. Sell it for MSRP plus Tax and shipping and call it a day.
  4. The Gigabyte seems to be a little better-rounded than the Astral vbios. Who knew...
  5. Hummmm, do you have links to any of your scores? PR? What driver did you use? And not sure the FE is really up to snuff this round with the 5090. (I could be wrong) What FE's have you seen holding spots near the midrange to upper levels in the ranks? Including the ones that may have been shunted. Also to note, i'm only speaking on benchmarks. The card seems perfectly fine for gaming. Benchmarks are about scores while gaming is about FPS. And just because it might be 0.03 FPS behind does not mean a card is trash. 😂 And why is nvidiainspector not working on your card? You are using the new version that has the rBar settings right?
  6. https://www.3dmark.com/sn/5655620 Edit: For anyone thinking they have no coil whine only needs to run firestrike extreme to find out the truth. I can hear that wine over all 15 fans running in here on full blast. LOL
  7. My apologies brother TPS, I thought it was based off your max clock speeds dropping. Yes, time to hunt down a block.:)
  8. Thanks. 🙂 The first card a customer was like. I'll take it because he could get a card for months. The second card was a place holder for today when I checked the website and bam! they said they had 12. I got card number 8. And I traded in the PNY, but not before getting a 200 dollar rebate for the cards price drop. So far, I like the card alot. So much so I got accidental damage warranty so I can shunt it and feel comfortable. 🤣 They even asked me. John, you plan on tearing this card up and put it on water as well. I said yep~!!! So far though, I really do like the feel and look of the card and it over clocks nicely. GPU effective clock is the one you are after. Run a benchmark in window mode and watch what that clock does. The closer you get it to the clock speed you set. The greater the reward. The guy asked me about my 14900KS I bought from them a few weeks ago. Asked me if I delided it already. I was like, not yet. but I think I'm going to pay my man @Mr. Fox to do it as I don't have the tools for that.
  9. You have to let that go. The clock that matters is the average clock. Not the clock speed you set. Nor the max clock that is shown. Side note: This card's max voltage is 1.09V
  10. @tps3443 Ah, ok. I thought you were able to lock it then set a core speed by typing in say 200+ and see if the core stay locked at the voltage set. speed will def go up and down though. In other news I snagged an Astral today at Micro Center!
  11. Oh, I was only doing that to show you how the locked voltage worked. To see if you could lock at 1.V. I wasn't trying to do anything. LOL
  12. @tps3443 I was thinking it was already done. My bad. As to voltage, you can try this and see if it will lock the higher voltage. You are not trying to break any records or anything, only trying to lock the voltage and move the core. In the picture it's only 1105 because I'm not using a full screen bench test, so it slightly lowers itself. That and temps. Also that yellow line is the locked voltage point.
  13. Can you post some of your benchmarks of before and after showing gains? Shunting has to make sense and actually do something other than show more watts with worse performance. And going by effective clocks. I have yet to be above 3 ghz yet. 572.83 had my card not running the same, so on this card i did not use that driver. Not sure if there are any blocks yet. I need to check. Also I remember flashing an Astral vbios and it did not unlock 1.1 volts for me. Now I wonder if that was really an Astral vbios.
  14. That's what im trying to do right now, but voltage seems to be all over the place... Edit: It's the the Epic RGB OC model. And the Gaming trio someone who could not get a card bought it off me.
  15. Before I can get to shutting it it has to be a good card to work with. And right now it's hard to say as at stock it's pulling 630W
  16. Without the slider, its 1.085V and with slider, it's 1.110V And my PCIE slot voltage and 16-Pin voltage go no lower than 12.1. While my other card dipped in the 11.8 to 11.9 range. Please be a good card.😂
  17. I'm still tripping out on the voltage. it's 1.110V! So a shunt mod would actually do this card justice or an unlocked power mod PNY vbios. I had not seen any other card with a voltage that high before.
  18. Thank you @Mr. Fox ! Package arrived safe and sound and it up and running like a champ! Okay, so i ended up selling my Gaming Trio 5090 to one of my customers and grabbed this PNY Epic from Microcenter a little while ago. And I must say i was quite surprised at it's stock bios settings.
  19. Did you shunt mod your card already or get the tools and vbios to unlock your card?
  20. Intel is about to have serious problems as well. China is kicking them to the curb for local chip manufacturing. Guess they dont want US tech in none of their goverment machines anymore either.
  21. Of course we still have problems getting 5090's. LOL 3059.99 was the sticker price.
  22. Thanks bro. I'm not so sure Zotac is actually trash this go round. They have their own 5080 450W vBios and it's sitting pretty high up the ranks.
  23. Well alrighty "Mr You're gonna carry me" When do we start. 😂
  24. Wait, is that for real? I was debating on starting to play that game as my buddy said it was pretty good.
