  1. that's only valid until 3080 stocks run out and shelves are only stocked with 40xx lines, that's why the rush,
  2. hmm... i beleive you can shave around 30% more which in turns should effect your bench results few clicks north, while benching i was running latest Win11 with 47-48 process at idle (and that's on a laptop), this is from right now my current idle which I still consider extremally liberal for none benching, i left few windows gadgets running in the background like weather, spotlight, search, even windows updates is running within that scope, and few standalone executable running continues task (ThrottleStop.exe, TopRight.exe moves incoming alerts back to the top right corner etc., this is not a custom or stripped windows11 image it is off the shelf latest available win11 22H2 build downloaded from MS)
  3. @Mr. Fox curious to learn how many background process are running for you while you bench?
  4. any of you tried unhiding "away mode" in power policy then setting it to "no" in active policy? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/108441-add-remove-allow-away-mode-policy-power-options-windows.html
  5. if that's the case its a bogus ECC! they cant be doing software based memory error correction that's laughable calling it ECC, its like having a 4 year old babysit a 3 year old, maybe its an acronym for something else NVidia made up they just call it ECC to be boujie and confusing? I'm sorry I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the rational behind this nonsense from NVidia to be honest,
  6. of curse it will ECC is additional processing layer which defeats the whole premises of running a bench, for other application it is critical when its reliable stability they are after for implementing ECC on a server not for benching bleeding edge performance, lets call a spade a spade the developers made a booboo and the only way to ensure result is to enable ECC so they can get a readout they can reliably analyze, in simple word their bench software cant keep up, is that a fair assumption?
  7. i was under the impression that they want to keep it off or something? so was last gen 3090, how is the 4090 different in its workflow for creators that it needs ECC? also what kind of ECC is that, traditionally there's no ON/OF switch for ECC unless its some software implementation or there's actually two separate memory controllers onboard, if anything i can maybe see this useful for miners but that's pretty much it. this has to be a software based ECC mutant which in my view still makes zero sense and sort of defeats the purpose of a performance bench,
  8. i'm trying to follow this ECC debacle, some basics i am having hard time wrapping my head around, the first is why ECC is on a gpu in the first place? if for whatever justified reason ECC is needed for some gpu scenario why are you guys insisting on keeping it on if the feature is disqualified by bench tools moving forward? in other words why slow down calculation in a bench is that important? what am i missing?
  9. it's similar case with the 4080, smaller die, less VRAM, less everything compared to the 3080,
  10. 12950HX @157w (it went even higher i just didn't capture)
  11. though i don't have @Reciever responsibilities and only been here for a short while thus far, i too find @ryan personality amusing and very friendly, i can tell he has a lot to learn, but i think his heart is in the right place, at some point in our early days we were all eager to learn everything yesterday, we had little more time to "get polished" i believe he will matures with time and figure out the lines to adhere sooner than later 😉
  12. well done sir, this shows your patience and generous character, very few admins demonstrate such tolerance, good on you!
  13. these greedy corporate baboons think we are all clueless and blind
  14. looks like the system is playing "whack a mole" with thermal issues, can he repeat this consistently? any undervolt applied there yet? did he try to disable nvidia nvpcf? for these new chip the bin is critical, if the bin is not that good allot of cores will need a stronger signal which translates to more heat generated, I've seen this first hand after loosing faith in 5 bins before i by chance received a good bin that blew me away especially after having hands on experience with 5 before i know immediately this was very different from the rest,
  15. that's nonsense, vocabulary has nothing to do with ones demeanor, https://apps.apple.com/us/app/fubotv-watch-live-sports-tv/id905401434
  16. @ryan check this out, the only mobile cpu @Mr. Fox will accept with open arms 😄
  17. i would have to agree, i also wish they didn't make them look like a toy but at that price that's pretty bad ass package,
  18. sure its doable, its also a simple tweak, get external enclosure connected via thunderbolt and put a 4090 desktop variant in it 😄 Time spy is a specific DX12 sahder bench, there's allot more outside DX12 shader realm your 3060 can do very well, lets not forget what we see here on this thread is the equivalent of F1 racing backstage access, this is the highest possible performance standards most cannot afford to dabble in, but give it two years and it becomes the new base standards, that is a simple trend/loop to follow, the reality is this is insane performance and we all agree on that, give it 6 months and or when the next iteration comes out with 16 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores if someone was to give you this 13900K chip when the 14900k will be out you will raise a brow and look down at it, just remember this moment/intersection and let it serve you into the future,
  19. lmao, yes there are more but no matter what you will do to your system it wont get any closer to @Mr. Fox results/dust,
  20. 100% i hate this nonsense too, lets see what the next line they just got approved will bring,
  21. we still get 4 full size bays in the 7770 chassis, i believe the half size open slot (marked 5) designated for GSM module can also be used as storage expansion,
  22. what kind of witchcraft is this? and where in the world are we going from here? 😮 i am sad though i could never fit this hardware level in my one of a kind custom build Corsair ONE chassis 😞
