  1. i was just looking at it, 62c average cpu temps means he started close or below 32f/0c, in my east coast place it is freezing cold right now @ 32f, if i leave my laptop on my porch for the bench i should see similar average temps, but that is not really representative of real world ambient temps by a longshot, this way its just for nonpractical bragging rights, it would be much more informative if we could see starting, average, and final temps,
  2. first score on the list i posted earlier shows first position (same link @Mr. Fox posted above) is held by a dell model, no way its the full 3060 130w sku! (if it was Asus or MSI yes its possible, with Dell never)
  3. are you seeing the full 100w used in HWiNFo while bench is running? my system has a 150w 3080Ti but i could only see max 120w used before i disabled the software driver in device manager, after that i got the full 150w during bench,
  4. i was about to say cough it up ya tweak hogger 😄 what's the specs on that omen you are testing on? Edit: i think i found your specs, i7-12700H with 3060 (notebook) with that these are the top scores for the specs
  5. can you confirm these specs for your Chromebook? Intel Celeron N4100 > Total Cores 4 Total Threads 4 Burst Frequency 2.40 GHz Processor Base Frequency 1.10 GHz Cache 4 MB Scenario Design Power (SDP) 4.8 W TDP 6 W Intel UHD Graphics 600 11.6”, HD (1366 x 768), IPS 32GB SSD 4GB LPDDR4 (look away @Mr. Fox) i cant find a model with 3060 built-in, is your 3060 in external enclosure? if so, its no wonder you keep getting the same results no matter the tweaks you apply, with these specs you are cpu bound. (im perplexed now how you got that score with that cpu )
  6. you could stick the system on the edge of your window so its out in the open cold air 😊 i use a trick i call "secret sauce", i would stick (in my case) laptop i am testing in the freezer for few minutes then i start the bench remotely, if you could get your open bench to 10c before you start the test bench run im sure you could bench much higher without shunt modding (be advise M.2 hate cold temps especially close to 0),
  7. that brings up fond memories, loved ATI in its days, thats more like it, NICE!
  8. prob redundant but worth checking, did you enable these options in your MSIAfterbusrner.ini your timespy graphics score is kinda low even for my laptop 😞 is your power plan in bios and widows on max performance profile? @ryan you can compare how you stack up to other same spec devices here https://www.3dmark.com/search
  9. 100% agreed, also consider variable from the time you had that score initially could have changed, from just your room ambient temps (winter heater vs. summer AC) to fans getting little bit clogged over time, applications running in the background, windows revisions, drivers updates, all can effect your bench score,
  10. there's another way to get a higher score, its technically legitimate test but I call it cheating, there is one element you can change its value that will give you higher score in time spy and potentially others, if you just looking to do it for the fun of it go for it otherwise its not a legitimate score, there's precise steps you will need to take for the end result to be valid, these settings must be applied 2 seconds before the bench starts (that is key), this means you have to have everything ready to be applied but not applied until the right moment, the right moment is as close as possible to when the bench itself starts, so time it beforehand, during the test loading where its doing system info you want to apply the settings as close to when the actual bench starts, so apply 2 second before the screen flips into the bench scenery, in nvidia profile inspector set "Texture Filtering - LOD Bias (DX)" value to -3 (you can also type a number not in the scope like -10) if you did it right you will get a valid result that is way higher then you ever scored before, you will see the scenery will look different during the bench because the engine is not fully rendering textures beyond the level of detail (LOD) you will instruct it, don't pass this as legit bench, this is just for fun and giggles with friends,
  11. ooh boy... i shouldn't have clicked on this thread, brace for a rough ride 😄 let me put it in simple words everyone should be able to understand, personal pc security is a predatory business joke, nothing more than business' plot to influence end users praying on their lack of education and deepest fears for greedy and cold financial gains, i have not run any kind of anti virus program in the past 20 years, fact is i go out of my way to disable all security related elements be it firewall or defender, all MS built-in or third party installed security elements must be stopped and disabled in my book, how does one explains that with all the ransomware and virus attacks advertised i have never been infected or effected by any? my system security is as naked as newborn baby, i have an explanation to why i am doing this and why i have never been infected, i am curious to learn what the common people not involved in cyber security think and believe regarding AV and general PC protection, i also not a fan of Microsoft themselves realizing the best way to engage with customers and make sure they continue to upgrade is by scaring the bejesus out of them through this ridicules security channel they created and excuses their privacy invasion reasoning, if you ask me they are the virus there is no such thing as viruses in the wild attacking random peoples computers, just a financial plot securing their future updates, there are professional people who get paid to find bugs in new system or existing code, they are reported and addressed, the way it is described to the public is predatory, "a malicious attacker could..." this is a code expert evaluating the worst possible case scenario, this doesn't mean this scenario exists, its just envisioned, not only these scenarios are always created in a closed lab conditions, by professionals who are paid to find these bugs, these are not malicious just bugs and if not patched and discovered by someone who has no ability to discover them or interact with the code, if all that will happen than it is possible bla bla bla, all theoretic in a lab paid to find bugs, then MS marketing department takes that makes a spicy meatball sauce from it that generates sales, today even if you don't want it they still shove it down your thought, and continue popping nonsense alert scaring everyone and their grandmothers. the truth no one is telling people out there is, no malicious code can traverse any part of a commercial network the past 20 years, just imagine if that was possible, systems long before the end users pc's will have to be compromised and go down, and that will never happen! i know that because i placed many system like that in place well over 20 years ago, there's just no way a packet will traverse containing any old malicious pattern or new, packets will get dropped first at commercial router (layer 3) and switched network (layer 2), these packet are not making it to layer 1, after they are dropped then they will ask questions, since most people don't know that the real viruses are these business robbing peoples hard earned money through scare tactics and microsoft is first inline to take advantage of that ever since win7 came out,
  12. @electrosoft did you try going through intel graphics command center options? (disable all auto tuning and adjustments nonsense there) also try disabling "Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Telemetry Service" service? (long way to mature in the meantime wrecking havoc on systems performance)
  13. none taken, i was expressing my recent experience with my new precision 7770 cramped with 12950HX and 3080Ti, i was so excited to finally spec it with these components expecting something else, i first got the 7670 with same spec, when the first unit arrived i was dumbfounded i couldn't understand how Dell expect end users to use this pile of scorching lava, thought it was one bad unit, support replaced it with another one, and another one after, on the third unit i gave up there was no way this is going to be usable, few weeks went by and my itch didn't go away, i didn't want to get the larger 7770 i thought it would be too big but was hoping it may have bit more thermal headroom to work with, first 7770 unit arrived same scorching heat as the 7670's, it also has some screen flicker issues support replaced it, i am now on the fifth unit with the same 12950HX and 3080Ti combo and not one of them is even close to having acceptable thermals, i am talking idling at 90c to 100c out of the box with nothing running, not even internet was configured yet, at that point i had enough again completely disappointed with Dells eye candy nonsense, called support asking to return the unit due to these heat issues, they wanted to send another sample, i didn't want argue and said ok, in my mind i already know i wasn't even going to open the box and just sent it back as i know exactly what will happen and didn't want to waste more time, as it happened the sixth unit arrived and sat in the corner of my office for few days, Dell picked up the fifth unit already back, i was just going to wait few days before i returned it so they think i gave it a chance, had few free minutes one day and decided to open the box to see what crap they bundled this time, turned it on and to my complete surprise it idled at 60c-70c on their default settings and system image, i know from there i can tweak the crap out of it and it should idle much lower, before the lowest i was able to idle with a single M.2 was around 42c-50c with everything i could throw at it including LM TIM on both dGpu and CPU, i tried everything with the units before, most is documented on the 7670 & 7770 owners thread started by @Aaron44126, this final unit filled all M.2 slots left Dells original thermal paste so no LM TIM application or even a fresh new one, and this unit just worked, i can get it to run all day below 36c for all mundane daily tasks and idle between 26c-30c, i can also completely turn the switch on and the platform become a mobile beast, and yes it will thermal throttle as there is no getting away from laws of physics anymore, with such powerful hardware one major key going forward will be the cpu bin itself as that seems to makes or breaks the whole system, and its all related to heat deception bottlenecking, this phenomena is not going to slow down anytime soon, that's why i am leaning toward embracing the limitation and learn how to take advantage of them when needed kind of like the tai chi philosophy go with the flow not against it to harness the most power available, in the past we could throw more cooling and more tweaks but its at the point there's no way to run from it moving forward 😉
  14. @ryan i meant righteous not richest, excluding family members passed from natural causes or illness, i lost few friends during my teenage years to accidents from crossing the street, tractor rollover, and highway accidents, later on during military service many friends lost in duty, in civilian life later lost friends to terror attacks and plain cold-blooded murder, at my age i can tell you their memory and lives guides me through every day of my life, their lives continue through us, our kids and hopefully their kids, its not something obvious, its little thoughts reminding you to be carful keeping you away from harm through their experiences, you'll make it to adulthood have kids of your own and you will never forget any one of them, they will always be with you, make it good and stay strong for them!
  15. sadly mine too, its not easy but a fact of life we have to confront and accept, some are exposed to that reality early on some later on some never, they say the righteous get a break early on, the rest of us sinners stay behind to repent longer for our sins.
  16. maybe this will cheer you up bit, i found an old bench i run on XPS17 with 11980HK and 3060 combo, your dGpu score is way better than what i scored and that was high score for the model at the time, (i also repasted it with LM TIM application) https://www.3dmark.com/spy/28621022 4GB ram its 99% means you run in single channel ram mode, add another 4GB ram stick or upgrade to 2x8GB sticks you cant bench with 4GB and expect a normal score, that prob why 3DMark sysinfo is complaining,
  17. i miss XP days, it was the best times for personal computers before they started going crazy with security, i had my XP system back then idle using 90mb ready to blast off anything i sent its way with quad core P4 a beast at its day, its not a typo 90mb as in 90 megabytes we came along long way since 😉
  18. it is clear that with recent years hardware heat issues are predominant, for mobile users in particular it comes down to managing thermals efficiently, with the base premise that heat is here to stay we need to manage it with tools provided, yes in some situation it means mobile users will revert to per application profile, for the sake of conserving i do the same on my desktop, with my desktop i also opted for a sleek small form factor i can keep on my desk, i was willing for that to take some performance/heat, the unit is custom built and spec'd to the max, it does "relatively" leaves maybe 5% performance overall on the table in favor of sleek case, its not always about best bench scores unless one is doing it seriously as a hobby or professionally, at the time i built my custom build i didn't spare a dime on top of the line components of the time, so performance were already up there by merits of components but it may not be the fastest, and that is just fine overall, we don't race these its more fun/cool to know if you score high, (there are 3 computers on that desk, two precision laptops are vertically mounted behind the screen, and there's room for two more 😉 )
  19. i usually just compile a clean standalone installer i don't let nvcleanstall do the driver install only the drive repackage without bloatware and the tweaks pre-applied, do a clean install and redo/double check the nvidia control panel for the bench exe settings afterwards! (clean install reverts everything to default)
  20. the tweaks you need (< click on the link) are all integrated in NVCleanstal, no need to chase old ghosts, if there were other tweak that mattered today they would be there too, just use the nvcleanstall tool you are wasting your time someone else will post that high score before you 😄
  21. not smart to use global setting with these selections, it is best to do it per application, setting these in global means dGpu is always running at max power increasing heat in a mobile chassis needlessly (likely there's an iGpu there too), when its per application system will run much cooler with less power consumption until an application that needs dGpu power is running, same applies for desktop only there the heat retention is usually less critical than in a mobile chassis,
  22. you might want to make sure you assigned all max power option in nvidia control center to the bench executable which lives by default here "C:\ProgramData\UL\3DMark\chops\dlc\time-spy-test\bin\x64\3DMarkTimeSpy.exe" (other bench executables also live nearby), (note it is 3DMarkTimeSpy.exe in the path described above not 3DMark.exe) also in afterburner make sure to drag your power limit slider to max your system driver will allow (this will likely be possible only after you use nvcleanstall with the tweak listed)
  23. never seen that error before (has to be unrelated or coincidental), i benched with standard TimeSpy, no reboot is needed for this to work either, you can enable disable this feature on the fly, this is what is keeping your gpu from utilizing its full TGP, it has no functionality beyond governing wattage plummed through, i did this with latest NVidia game ready driver, i use nvcleanstal and few expert tweak (you can see here the tweaks i used) to create a clean driver installer which i than use to reinstall the driver cleanly, 100% you can and will! 😉
