  1. There is a couple of solutions on Github, but can't remember it in my head right now. I have removed everything to tune in lights and bling bling.
  2. Found this one a couple of months ago. An Ok software (better than any OEM filhty but I will most likly go for an HW fan control). Gone is the days you could use an air cooler for your K chips. I remember hmscott on NBR said he never would touch an water cooled setup again. But hey, he was an AMD fan and most likely had to change mind about water cooling if he nowadays went for an unlocked Ryzen chips from latest gen. Also bro Robbo swor about having an air cooler over an AIO. Back in the days, 150W was usual for an 4 core Cpu and an good air cooler could handle that load
  3. Wprime ain't so popular nowadays. Hence you don't get much points with an ok score. But nice be in between the LN2 boys with an AIO🙃 https://hwbot.org/submission/4980953_papusan_wprime___32m_core_i9_12900k_1sec_384ms?recalculate=true
  4. Watch out for these issues in Windows 11 KB5012592 & Windows 10 KB5012599 Unfortunately, things aren’t going smoothly for everyone, particularly those who are on Windows 11. https://notebooktalk.net/topic/265-all-about-windows-10-ltsc-included-news-and-announcements/?do=findComment&comment=5946&_rid=79
  5. Watch out for these issues in Windows 11 KB5012592 & Windows 10 KB5012599 (2021 LTSC) windowslatest.com- April 22, 2022 0 As part of the April 2022 cumulative updates, Microsoft published two major cumulative updates - Windows 11 KB5012592 and Windows 10 KB5012599. The two updates contain identical bug fixes and improvements because Windows 11 is apparently built on top of Windows 10. Unfortunately, things aren’t going smoothly for everyone, particularly those who are on Windows 11.
  6. Yep, you normally have more headroom with an binned chips. But you have 25W headroom for you K chips to come closer to the KS chips in all core boost. If I read your results correct, you had 5.2GHz all core for KS and 5.1GHz for the K in your comparison. Putting single core/dual/three core boost as for the KS is probably more difficult due need for even higher voltage increase to stay within reasonable/targeted power consumption (232W as for the KS). Everything is up to what you do. Run the KS stock (at +30% premium) or and want run the K closer to the KS chips 🙂
  7. Could be the monitoring software but from this it seems you saved of around 25W vs. your KS chips 🙂
  8. Hands on: Windows 11’s new feature promises a cleaner taskbar at cost of functionality windowslatest.com Microsoft is experimenting with a new minimalist taskbar for Windows 11 with an improved UI for the overflow menu and new system tray controls that would cater to those who prefer a clean taskbar, but at the same time, another taskbar feature has also gone missing for absolutely no good reason. The future from Microsoft is OS intended for Jokebooks/tablets and small 2 in 1 craptops. Desktops is dead in Microsofts eyes.
  9. Some use Win 10 LTSC who already have less bloat. Here is two other popular solutions for you. Chris Titus own tools (See also his YouTube channel) Debloat Windows in 2022 - Chris Titus Tech + MSMG ToolKit
  10. I guessed so 🙂 For the SP ranking. Higher SP rating is no guaranteee for lowest possible power consumption/lower temps.
  11. Neither fish or bird (nor bad or fantastic). If you care about the E-core’s it’s above average. And P-cores ain’t bad. Could still run decent And none should use air cooling with this chips so… Follow bro @electrosoft good advice for testing. Edit
  12. This is weird, because Intel use an thicker IHS compared to Rocket Lake and Comet Lake. Could of course be as you say that they used softer metal this time. But why change that? No much benefits doing that. Maybe it is easier to form the IHS (The processing/work becomes cheaper).
  13. I hate the messed up Arctic solution. Just split up everything. And add more fans for push and pull. Won't be more noisy with 8 fans if you bother/prefer tune them in for silence.
  14. The Arctic 420mm AIO use quiet and slow fans. You should swap out the fans or at least add 3 more fans for push and pull. I have disconnect the fans from the cooling head fan connector. Instead I have connected all the fans directly to the MB. Let the small VRM fan and and pump run wild by themself. A good 280mm AIO performs very well also. Even an small wimpy 240mm AIO as you can see below. I have also the EVGA 280mm AIO for my older build. They easly compete with bigger 360mm if you put up the cooler in push pull. Many of the 280mm comes often with stronger fans so the differences in cooling capacity between an average 360mm and good 280mm is not as huge as people think. Some even beat the bigger AIOs. The drawback with stairs. I hate it for my broken lungs. I made a wheel plate for my 1000D, no stairs and thats it. Best of both worlds, LOOL This is mainly a problem for those with custom loop and 100% flat cold plate. Still, Intel blundered out with this (bad engineering solution). But nice that major HW manufacturers put point on the problem and show Intel that their new ILM isn't any good.
  15. When OEMs prefer to milk you to last drop without reason. Offer a useless upgrade as forced for the bigger profits. "With the Pulse GL66, MSI's fairly new gaming series still reveals some adjustment problems. The expensive CPU doesn't perform at its full level, and a more affordable model would have lowered the price of the system to a more appropriate level" MSI Pulse GL66 review: Is the i9-12900H improving the RTX-3060 gaming laptop or only making it more expensive?
  16. The gamer kids is ready to pull the trigger. Not everyday you see locked down processors selling near $600 USD. The world has gone crazy if this Cpu will sell (out) at this prices 🤮 And this is bro Fox after seeing this madness..... 🙃 AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Starts Selling at 30% Mark-up The unexpected parting-shot of Socket AM4 and "Zen 3" at Intel's new "Alder Lake" architecture, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, started selling. There is, however, a rude catch. On popular US retailer Newegg, the processor is going for as high as USD $589, or $140 higher than the $449 MSRP, a 30 percent mark-up. This would also put its price a vulgar $230 higher (64 percent higher) than the Ryzen 7 5800X, a price difference that can get you a reasonably good motherboard based on the AMD X570 chipset, or perhaps even a combination of a well-priced AMD B550 chipset motherboard and 16 GB of DDR4-3600 memory. It is important to note, however, though, that the Newegg listing is fulfilled by one of its marketplace vendors, and not Newegg directly. The site isn't selling the 5800X3D through its own fulfillment inventory. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D thoroughly impressed us and several other tech reviewers. AMD stands good on its claim that the 5800X3D is faster than the Core i9-12900K at gaming, and it does end up trading blows with the i9-12900KS (an $800 chip) in several titles. The $589 marked-up price, however, erodes much of that goodwill, and for that kind of money, you're better off just getting a Core i9-12900 (non-K), and unshackling its power limits in the motherboard BIOS. The i9-12900 will trade blows with the 5800X3D at gaming, but will thoroughly outclass it at productivity. Both the i9-12900 and the 5800X3D are "locked." Also Dell Alienware go all in for their gamer kids.... Dell tells us this is the first OEM desktop to market with AMD's fastest gaming chip. Alienware’s Aurora Desktop Rocks Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD Ryzen 6000 Gaming Laptops Inbound Historically Dell and AMD haven't always had what one would call a BFF relationship, but they sure are cozy with each other now. Going back to last year, Dell released its first AMD-powered laptops in over a decade. Now a year later, Dell tells us this momentum they've built with each other "shows no signs of slowing"
  17. Use an small sharp scissors. As well you need two very small/thin tip tweezers (as in ifixit toolbox) .
  18. Yep, for this gen laptops. Dell don't spend a bunch of money engineering custom/proprietary form factors if this isn't for the future for all their computers/laptops. A hybrid solution as for today's new model won't be the final outcome for this disater of engineering solution. None should expect that Dell will continue with So-dimm slots for next gen laptops. A fantastic idea only Dell can manage to make laptops even thinner outside Apple. The Bellsheep... Aka always the trendsetter. Thinner laptops = Less space for cooling. Expect this also will come for the Alienware's for even thinner gamingbooks. Imagine an Alienware x17 only 12mm thick🙃 I'm sure many gamer-boys will start drool only by the thought. And Dell will deliver as always. A master in proprietary design know their audience 🙂 In same way as Microsoft, who deliver/offer what they think their customers want. As etc the new tablet OS (Win 11 the resurrection from the scrapped dual screen OS Win 10x).
  19. I wrote about this in the forum here a few days ago. Of course it had to be Dell. Who else?
  20. They could also remove reg keys in Win 10 to delete functionality/features/change UI. But I doub't they will do it to make the older Win 10 looks more equal as Win 11. Most changes will come to Win 11 (remember it's their new baby). And we have Win 10 2021 LTSC (same as Win 10 version 21H2 today) and they can't change that OS version as they want.
  21. The worst chip can still run at 5.3 GHz on liquid cooling, which I would have considered an above-average 12900K/KF. 14 out of 14 pass 5.3 GHz, 13 out of 14 pass 5.4 GHz, and 3 out of 14 can pass 5.5 GHz. This out from of a tray with 14 chips tested on water. https://www.tomshardware.com/features/intel-core-i9-12900ks-world-record-78-ghz-8-cores Amd follow same paths as in older days. New has to be much better... Why bother change it at all? Also Microsoft should have skrapped the Win 10 refresh, branded Win 11. RX 6650XT Specs Leak Shows Minor Uplift Over RX 6600 XT
  22. Some problems is on both OS's but minor changes in the kernel for Win 11 open up a new door for more bugs/flaws. Windows 11 Updates Are Spitting Out Error Code 0xc1900101 Leaving Some Users Baffled Mon, Apr 18, 2022 Yep, next move from Windows developers will be deleting legacy compatibility from the latest and greatest OS. Same also. Expect they will remove more and optional registry keys (no more hacks) so you won't be able to change the OS (UI) for your likings or if you want the older Windows looks/style. See the beauty bro @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox Windows 11 taskbar downgrade and 3 other ways Microsoft is making its ubiquitous OS worse Microsoft's insistence on signing in with an account will most likely drive away people with little or no internet connection — a consequence that shows Microsoft isn't interested in catering to everyone anymore. 23. 3rd and 4th in 3DM Vantage. Gtx 750 Ti performed best with Win 10 LTSC. Maybe another nvidia driver can change that. https://hwbot.org/submission/4977917_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_750_ti_33893_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4977322_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_47418_marks https://hwbot.org/submission/4978007_papusan_aquamark_geforce_gtx_750_ti_530352_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4977995_papusan_3dmark11___performance_geforce_gtx_750_ti_7974_marks?recalculate=true
  24. Proprietary/own homebaked HW design. The beauty with proprietary design ... Lock you into their own sick sick world. Dell can't get enough of own design. Is this Dell’s innovation or vendor-locking? Or meant to help them make the laptop chassis even thinner and slimmer for a more Apple look?
