God forbid, that Microsoft start add new features as a new thread scheduler for modern Hybrid HW in older Win 10. Hope it never happens. If they do... Be you sure they'll screw up even Win 10. They just can't do it right. As a sidenote. Most of the benchers on hwbot continue use Win 10 over Win 11 for max performance. This just show their trust in Win 11. What's probably the most important takeaway from this article is that Windows 10 works very well with Alder Lake despite the lack of support for the Hybrid architectures or Thread Director. In the vast majority of cases, you'll barely notice any difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/alder-lake-windows-10-performance/2.html

Yep. No baby cores for the next AMD flagship and increased TDP. Intel has to offer a lot more than the 8 added E-cores for coming 13th gen chips to compete. Maybe Intel think 24 cores and 32 threads is a hell lot more than 16 real cores + HT but only 8 P cores..... AMD Ryzen 7000 Series "Raphael" Processors to Come with up to 170 Watt TDP for 16-Core SKUs AMD is slowly preparing to transition its consumer base into a new platform and processor architecture with the launch of Ryzen 7000 series processors codenamed Raphael. Based on the new AM5 LGA socket, these processors will come with up to 16 cores and 32 threads at the top-end configurations. Thanks to the latest round of rumors, we managed to find out just what TDP rating two SKUs will carry. According to a well-known leaker @graymon55, AMD is rating the 12-core SKU with a TDP of 105 Watts. On the other hand, the top-end 16-core 7000 series SKU replacing the current Ryzen 9 5950X will carry a large TDP of 170 Watts. The 170 Watt TDP configuration will likely require better cooling efforts. AMD will probably advise users to invest in better cooling solutions, such as AIO liquid coolers or giant air coolers. Sources: @greymon55 (Twitter), via VideoCardz Maybe AMD also should make their desktop chips from Mobile parts? Or just use features from their laptop department? Because the AMD boys/girls may ask for it π -

And more and more from laptops will be adopted to desktops. The trend is crystal clear. Yep, the trend from Notebooks will be implemented for desktops. What's better than new features to monitor the load? New features will now come from Lap-Jokes. Even Intel desktop processors are now leftovers from the BGA trend (baby cores on desktop cpu's to increase the power efficiency). Monitoring is equal Telemetry = Disgusting. ATX 3.0 & ATX12VO 2.0: New power supply standards with 600 watt connector for GPUs Other changes to the standards As further innovations in the standards, Intel cites adjustments to the Power Excursion Limits for 300-600 W PCIe AICs ECN standard published by the PCI SIG at the end of 2021 ( not public ) and the ATX12VO standard, the unexplained adoption of the "I_PSU%" function from notebooks - and server platforms, which should make it easier for system integrators, especially for smaller systems that can only accommodate comparatively weak power supplies, to select the right power supply for the system by monitoring the load. -

Or just use your smatphone (you have it always with you). And then you have Macrium reflect. A phone is needed if you have an Jokebook. Not sure you can use a a capture software to take bios screenshots on laptops. -

I have put 1.51V. No where near can use 1.435V on +6800. But I haven't thinkered much with the sticks. No time for that now. Yep. All is about the marketing. And as you know.... It works π Frank Azor was a master in that game. Regarding how the forum works. I liked the old NBR forun software a a hell lot more than this software. In all ways. -

The only drawback is high latency and not much gain in much people do on their computers. Not even a big gain in benchmarks/games vs a proper quality DDR4 kit. But I expect people are very hanged up in big numbersπ Just look at the smille in the face on many of the Jokebook jockey's. They are even happy with +90ns latency. And the very low voltage for DDR5 is a joke. This increase fast once you clock up your ram sticks. 1.1V looks good on the papers but not so sure many is able to run a decent oc's on their sticks with that voltage. -

You made the right choice bro Fox. A big beauty. The Hyte Y60 chassis I posted above looks much more like a fish aquarium and not a pc case... I expect it depends on what taste people have. If people really want a fish aquarium maybe buy a real one and not a fake oneπ -
A friend on old NBR (@jc_denton) sanded his 9900K below what der8auer did. End results was a cracked die after he started use the laptop. He had an Clevo P870Tm. Don't go too far with the sanding. As a side note. He also used a Vapor chamber between Heatsink and die.

introduction What web browser are you using, and why?
Papusan replied to Mr. Fox's topic in General Software
Who want to be a part of this? And this is only the beginning. Microsoft have loads of great ideas how they can and will destroy own products. Is this a feature you want for your web browser bro @Mr. Fox ? Microsoft Edge for Windows may get more bloatware in the next update While some people may find features like βbuy now, pay laterβ useful, the lack of an option or experimental flag to completely get rid of them can prove to be frustrating, especially when features have tight system integration.- 163 replies

I wonder where they got their inspiration from. This chassis looks more like a fish aquarium... Hyte Y60 Review: Windowed and Warm https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/hyte-y60 I expect it is easy to fix this chassis to look more as a real fish aquarium. Just buy som plastic foil from a zooo shop π And it won't hamper the cooling, LOOL -
Microsoft want to help you out take the right choices for what OS to go for. Expect more to come π Windows 11: Microsoft approves desktop watermark for unsupported PCs https://efgxt.net/topic/168-all-about-windows-11-news-and-announcements/?do=findComment&comment=4004&_rid=79

Windows 11: Microsoft approves desktop watermark for unsupported PCs windowslatest.com Microsoft is so helpful so they finally will approve a nice small lovely feature in their newest OS. This small notice is intended for those that don't follow their OS rules. I expect they will patch the loophole where you can remove the watermark as the time going forwards. Can't have it open so people get an unsecure pc.This to help you to take the very best choice for secure computing. You all with old HW on win 11 should really give them a huge thanks for their never give up helping it's customers. I mean Microsoft should have made the text in screaming Red and in thick bold letters (no register tweaks should be able to remove it). @Mr. Fox @Ashtrix

The new Alienware x14 is too thin for a gaming notebook Ever thinner laptops have been the rage for years, but is this also desirable in a gaming notebook? We don't think so, as the new Alienware x14 shows that a thin chassis means compromising performance...... The Apple trend have gone too far. Of course it had to be Dell's gaming brand. The bellwether in the gamingbook industri.

If Raptor lake max out at 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, they will lose the battle. This means the worst decision Intel has made for decades. Double amount baby cores as rumored and increased IPC over the whole stack and with 8 P-cores as the limit it will be a blood bath. 3. More cores are better, right? One of the most exciting parts of the Ryzen 7000 rumours is that there may be a 24-core, Ryzen 9 variant coming. Unless Intel launches something impressive in the meantime, this 24-core part will be the highest core count consumer desktop part outside of AMD's own Threadripper chips. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Ryzen-7000-vs-Alder-Lake-3-reasons-why-AMD-s-Zen-4-will-smash-Intel-s-12th-Gen.608822.0.html -

If you don't need the 2nd Cpu connector and go for iTX MB and need the smallest case you can get. Of course you'll have to put of some time for dust cleaning π And accept a bit more noise. But you can't get a much more portable/ luggable system. This system is upgradeable. Aka the total opposite of today's laptops. 1-0 vs Jokebooks. https://xworks.store/products/x32-small-form-factor-open-air-case -

This on reminds me about modern designed electrical ovens we is forceed to use in cold places as here in the cold North. I'm sure it will work and do a good job as a heater if you fill it with HW from the high end graphics and processors line. https://www.sfftime.com/ A better looking choice... But it has to be in black. -

@Clamibot look at the video from 9:40 where he talk about an single vs double 8 pin Cpu connector. He recommend utilize two if you go over 230W. And you won't get an nice OC boost with that power restriction. -

You talk about a single 8-pin CPU EPS connector for the mini ITX MB. As a good reminder.... 12900KS is an 150W chips. And none know if Intel finally get out the finger from their big but and also give the standard K chips same TDP. They probably have to because AMD will most likely release an 16 cores Zen 4 chips this fall (yep, no baby cores). And some rumors talk about 170w TDP for their top best performing chips. If Intel castrate their best chips with 125W TDP and this time also with double amount E-cores for Raptor lake then you see where I go π They just can't keep on with 125W flagship chips if they want compete with chips from AMD that is on a smaller node. https://hwbot.org/submission/4954020_papusan_wprime___32m_core_i9_12900k_1sec_483ms?recalculate=true -

I just wish this was true. No baby cores and instead 12 real cores. And that Intel would release Raptor lake with 16 or 18 cores instead for more of the small baby cores. Isn't that correct bro @Ashtrix? Maybe they have fixed the flaw in latest Cpu-X version https://github.com/X0rg/CPU-X/releases/tag/v4.3.0 Yep, this show Apple in a nutshell. They follow the tech trend as hand in glove. The bell sheep in the tech industri taken with their pants down. "The company claimed that the M1 Ultra could offer greater performance than the Intel Core i9-12900K while consuming 100 fewer watts at load. But the most outrageous claim was likely the assertion that the M1 Ultra's 64-core GPU #offered better performance# than the flagship NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 while undercutting it by 200 watts in power consumption". I mean the the 8 pin supplies 235 continuous watts and then you have the 75 watts from the CPU slot. Aka 310W for peak. Not a viable slution for constant load over prolonged time. And you'll easy pass ++300W if you intend to overclock for benching (undervolt for lower wattage won't save you if you try to max out the overclock potentiale). Also the ITX boards need to follow the standard. -
