  1. Hi bro jaybee, nice see you here. It tooks some time, but better late than never. So.....
  2. Yup, Win 11 brings nothing. What did you expect from Microsoft's fantastic engineers...... The nice fellow below could have done a much better job. Going back to Win 7 was a god’s blessing. https://hwbot.org/submission/4988349_papusan_3dmark2001_se_radeon_hd_7970_144809_marks
  3. Use all tools in your tool box. No harm in doing that.
  4. Microsoft Defender apparently causing high memory usage issue, black screen, and more Sayan Sen · 15 hours ago Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is apparently causing several issues for clients on Windows 10 20H2 systems. These issues include very high memory usage bug, black screen on boot up, and more. The high memory usage by Defender's "Antimalware Service Executable" process (MsMpEng.exe) is a quite common bug and sometimes a temporary workaround to reduce the memory consumption is to disable the Real-time Protection. Yep, what did you expect from the Redmond based company? A flawless experience? This just follow same pattern as their newest OS. Will be in beta forever.
  5. MemTweakIt 20210910 as the zip below is the latest offered from the OC community. There is another site who offer a newer verson ASUS MemTweakIt v20220317 (as well older versions). But I can't go good for that site (though, bianbao.dev is on the bot). Not many mention this version. But v20220317 shows up as clean in VirusTotal analysis. MemTweakIt 20210910.zip Edit. More research. bianbao is an Asus employee. https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-asus-strix-maximus-z690-owners-thread.1794802/post-28982432
  6. Damn, you talk about the cheap days😀 You can barely get two top dog cards from nvidia for that price now. Be happy Nvidia killed Sli and 4 way cards setup for gaming. 4 of Nvidia's 3090 Ti K|ngP|n would be more like 10K. You got a very good deal from Fry's. Wish it was today, LOOL Have spent +5 hours on Win 11 on the new system. One of my worst ideas to date. The experience was awful/dreadful. Both for benchmarks, the estetics, lack of features and a disgusting (G)UI. I will with this never ever again install Win 11 on my system. And God bless that I have a Macrium backup of Win 10 2019 LTSC and 2021 LTSC. Within 3 min I'm back to the good and well known harbor. Win 7 is on an own disk as a good companjon. People that enjoy/or praising Win 11... I really really really feel sorry for them. They don't know what they do. I have tested Win 11 before and after the relase of this God damn trash on the test systems and from what I have learned today.... Nothing have changed with the newer builds of Win 11. What a huge fiasco from Microsoft. But I'm sure you know about this, good brothers @Mr. Fox @Ashtrix. My time with Win 11 is now ended FOR GOOD. And god thanks for that. Good night brothers .......FOR ME!!!! Good night brothers 🙂
  7. Maybe the majority of Windows users nowadays only have fancy thin tablets, touchbooks and small wimpy 2 in 1 Jokebooks? At least it looks like this when wee see what Microsoft make own decisions from. Why bother with the minority of people that still prefer old fashion desktops and desktop replacements? Microsoft says Windows 11 Start menu is built around feedback, users disagree windowslatest.com- April 29, 2022 0 Windows 11 is out for a while now and it has received mixed reviews, with the operating system getting a bad rap from a lot of people. So why people are upset? Tone-deaf: Microsoft reminds people of the great job it did of building Start in Windows 11 neowin.com
  8. More bling bling. This time for Asus. And only $84.42 USD for the ROG Wingwall Graphics Card Holder. @johnksss @Mr. Fox will this new option from Asus bring a better value than the free eLeash "hangman's loop" holder from Evga? Or would you rather prefer something more exotic as this new RGB graphics holder? Remember the Asus Wingwall graphics card holder got the Red Dot design awards 2022. So it has to be good and will most likly make your pc inside looks a lot better. Sorry, I'm so sarcastic. But this is waste of money. And on top ugly. Whats wrong with the reviewers/workers at Red Dead Dot product design? @Talon Your graphics card is from Asus. Isn't it?🙂 Remember this brings value, you even get two swappable acrylic plates so it let you customize aesthetics to match your build. Yep... Only $85 USD for this fancy piece of plastic/alu thingy paired with RGB lights. ASUS releases Wingwall and Herculx graphics card holders ROG Wingwall is equipped with an Aura Sync-enabled RGB LED array that generates synchronized lighting and 3D effects via two readily replaceable acrylic panels, combining function and design. This type of gear flooded with RGB lights will become big business once the bigger and heavier 4000 series graphics cards seeing the light 2022/23. ------------------------------------------------------------- DDR5-6200 C36 memory kit now below $400. And if money ain't a problem you can get two dummy modules for $60. Not a bad price to pay for more bling bling?😵 V-Color Manta XPrism DDR5-6200 C36 Review: Ordinary Swimmer V-Color introduces the brand's first DDR5 memory kits. Can the company outshine its rivals? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's something for bro @Ashtrix Rumors about 14th gen Hybrid processors from Intel. I wonder how many baby cores Intel will offer this time vs real P-cores. Can't be less than what they will offer for Raptor lake. Aka double amount of the E-cores vs P-cores. But the most important has to be the amount threads. Isn't it? Intel Meteor Lake reaches new milestone The upcoming mobile architecture has entered a new stage of its development. Meteor Lake is to feature up to 192 graphics Execution Units, which is a double of the Alder Lake/Raptor Lake GPU core count. Intel has not confirmed how many CPU cores would Meteor Lake support, but it was confirmed to operate in the 5 to 125W power range. Therefore, Meteor Lake will debut on low-power laptops as well as high-end desktop consumer systems
  9. Improved to 18th place for Pyprime 2.0 - DDR5. It seems I can't go below 23 on Cas latency. Run it at Cas 22 seems somewhat flaky🙃 Most likely due the higher BCLK clocks. Run the Cpu near 5.9GHz don't make it easier, LOOOL Right below the LN2 territory🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/4985846_papusan_pyprime___2b_with_benchmate_ddr5_sdram_6sec_962ms?recalculate=true Bro @Mr. Fox @johnksss What is an somewhat safe VDD2 voltage (MC voltage)? I think about for both long term and short term use. Thanks Friday here, so have a nice weekend to you all 🙂
  10. A dancing cpu. Exactly as the mobile Intel processors paired with Dynamic boost 2.0 (The GPU has to loan cooling capacity from the CPU if the GPU need the thermal headroom to reach max boost and the Cpu clock speed drop as a stone in the sky). There are everal ways the HW manufacturers can cripple own products. Yep, today’s word has to be “Dancing”.😁
  11. HaHa. No love for cats?🙃 I hope EVGA have better software for display info. I won't touch Corsair's bloat with a 10 feet pole. If I really cared about such info and loads of flashy lights I would buy an AIO with an display on the cooler.
  12. No way stable for 24/7 every day use (for benching) but the results is still ok🙂 Ranked 22th Pyprime 2.0 for DDR5 https://hwbot.org/submission/4985168_papusan_pyprime___2b_with_benchmate_ddr5_sdram_7sec_110ms?recalculate=true
  13. What a nightmare. Bling bling is here to stay. Only 100$. Are you kidding? Bro Fox.... You really need swap out that ugly and tacky waterblock, LOOL How it performs doesn't matter. What's matter nowadays is new fancy features. The more eye candy, the better. CORSAIR iCUE ELITE CPU Cooler LCD Display Upgrade Kit Review Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2022-04-25 read/post comments(0) The iCUE ELITE CAPELLIX LCD Display Upgrade Kit does really add quite a bit of eye candy to your current setup, while doubling up as a monitoring tool for the internal components. It comes with an IPS panel with a 480x480 resolution and renders video effects at 30FPS, for very fluent animations. The frame of the display is also RGB enabled in order to sync different effects with other iCUE-enabled hardware you may have installed, while the installation can be done by anyone with the help of four mounting magnets so no need of removing the pump from the CPU! Her's the latest version I know about TurboV_Core_1.10.19
  14. It seems AMD have changed goal and nowadays prefer locked down hardware 🙂 Maybe the card is too cheap? Could be Mr. Azor have adviced them to do this. AMD Reportedly Disables Overclocking on the Radeon RX 6400 https://hwbot.org/submission/4984337_papusan_3dmark05_radeon_hd_7970_79618_marks?recalculate=true
  15. My goal is tuning some of the fans with the bios then the rest of fans with an manuel fan control. Best of both worlds. Fan control for easy access for max sound when needed, LOOL. Yep, I stay far away from any software for tuning fans and bling bling, HaHa but thats me🙂
  16. Then you have your answers. See how far it goes with 1.4V. If temp is good (sub 80C) then let it stay there.
  17. Again, Intel's engineers have no problem with 1.4V if the cooling is adequate for their chips. See how far you can come with that target. If temps is too high then reduce voltage to match the cooling/clockspeed. See also Techpowerup's review talking about volt/clock speed for the overclock of 10850K. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-10850k/20.html
  18. What a e-waste! Damn the customers that let them continue with this. Just fine....
  19. Intel have reduces Tjunction temp for KS chips down to 90C (100C for the K chips) and added in Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost Temperature who kick in at 50C. Higher boost clocks = Higher voltage. But this was needed for the KS chips to try counter the new locked down v-cashe chips from AMD to stay pretty alone on top as the gaming king. Yep, Intel don't want you to run high voltage paired with high temps over prolonged time, hence they dropped the ball on the Tjunction for the KS chps who have higher boost clocks. From Intel's engineers at their OC lab... As Ragland explained, the amount of time a processor stays in elevated temperature and voltage states has the biggest impact on lifespan. You can control the temperature of your chip with better cooling, which then increases lifespan (assuming the voltage is kept constant). Assuming voltage remains constant, each successive drop in temperature results in a non-linear increase in life expectancy, so the 'first drop' in temps from 90C to 80C yields a huge increase in chip longevity. In turn, colder chips run faster at lower voltages, so dropping the temperature significantly by using a beefier cooling solution also allows you to drop the voltage further, which then helps control the voltage axis. All is about the voltage. https://www.tomshardware.com/uk/features/inside-intels-secret-overclocking-lab/7 Yep, the OEM have added 115C as an option in the firmware, but I don't think that temp is good over time if paired with higher voltage due you oc' your chips. Probably not as dangerous if you run your chips at stock clocks with default voltege (Dell is the bellsheep for 100C but you don't get much overclock features from Dell. They don’t let you increase the voltage out of the chips range). High temps = No problem if the voltage stay within the default target for the chips. Dell do a lot weird things but they are correct in this one.
  20. Use the phrase "Thermal putty" in search. I think digi key offer several viable variants. Look also for Dow Corning and Laird thermal compound products. Well known brands for this type products.
  21. Slightly better Wprime 32 score. Within 20Th place on the bot for 16 cores (but the 50% baby cores destroy some of the fun)🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/4981897_papusan_wprime___32m_core_i9_12900k_1sec_380ms?recalculate=true Edit. Here's a better one. Now below 1.370 sec. But this doesn't help much. LN2 (exotic cooling) scores rules above🙃 Damn that baby cores,LOOL https://hwbot.org/submission/4981946_papusan_wprime___32m_core_i9_12900k_1sec_368ms?recalculate=true
  22. Here's where I found out about the fan software... https://linustechtips.com/topic/1099996-fancontrol-my-take-on-a-speedfan-replacement/
  23. There is a couple of solutions on Github, but can't remember it in my head right now. I have removed everything to tune in lights and bling bling.
  24. Found this one a couple of months ago. An Ok software (better than any OEM filhty but I will most likly go for an HW fan control). Gone is the days you could use an air cooler for your K chips. I remember hmscott on NBR said he never would touch an water cooled setup again. But hey, he was an AMD fan and most likely had to change mind about water cooling if he nowadays went for an unlocked Ryzen chips from latest gen. Also bro Robbo swor about having an air cooler over an AIO. Back in the days, 150W was usual for an 4 core Cpu and an good air cooler could handle that load
  25. Wprime ain't so popular nowadays. Hence you don't get much points with an ok score. But nice be in between the LN2 boys with an AIO🙃 https://hwbot.org/submission/4980953_papusan_wprime___32m_core_i9_12900k_1sec_384ms?recalculate=true
