  1. Bro, you are just an addict like the rest of us! When is the shipping ETA?
  2. Motherboard prices are seriously stupid now days! With stagnation in the industry as a whole, I see a crash coming soon, or at least a reboot.
  3. They are not the same, as far as I know. I have not messed with Intel since the P4 days. I will try and get tREFI into the high 4 digit area. tREFI does not affect latency as much as tRFC, and tRFC 2 on AMD. At least that has been my experience.
  4. So I had a little bit of time to mess with the 9950X yesterday, and I dont think this chip is particularly strong. It does not like some of my settings I had on the 7950X. Even though this score is as high as some LN 7950x's, its just not boosting as high as it should. I have not had time to tune ram yet.
  5. Had the same issue on my 7900xtx, and found the waterblock screws had come loose a bit. I repasted and reassembled, and it's went back to acceptable temps.
  6. Here are the Multi threaded numbers on the ES via notebook check. Disappointing to say the least. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Arrow-Lake-S-Core-Ultra-9-285K-CPU-takes-the-top-spot-in-PassMark-s-single-threaded-performance-benchmark.898105.0.html
  7. @electrosoft @Mr. Fox @Papusan, and all other high rollers. Here is a gpu you might be interested in 🤣 NO RETAIL PACKAGING! 🤣
  8. If I was going to get an X870 board, I would probably go for a mid tier AsRock iteration, like the Riptide $279.99, or the MSI Mag Tomahawk ($299.99). I see no reason to spend 5-6 hundred dollars on a top tier board like I did with the X670.
  9. This is just stupid silly. https://www.pcgamesn.com/asus/z890-motherboard-price-leak
  10. Agreed! I'm still unsure why they chose this path? It makes zero sense to me as to why they'd disable HT. Is their silicon unable to withstand the higher demand or are they punting like AMD has in the gpu market? Maybe for 1 year?
  11. I checked Default memory settings at 8000mhz before I walked out of the room, and they are some unholy large numbers. I just glanced real quick, and it said something like 63-68-68.... blah blah. 🤣 Definitely not tuned yet!
  12. Installed the 9950X this morning, quick CB23 run, (not optimized). I'd say that's a pretty big uplift from the 39,700 score I had with the 7950X. Latest MSI bios.
  13. I've never been a Powercolor fan, but I've heard good things about their red devil line. 🤷‍♂️
  14. Hi gang, I've missed this place, but have been super busy. I've managed to snag a 9950X, and will be looking for some time to test it. Hope everyone is well.
  15. I just don't have that sort of patience. You doing a raffle, or just giving it to someone you know? $499 msrp is reasonable for a 9950x https://www.tweaktown.com/news/99439/amd-ryzen-9-9950x-pricing-leaked-499-9900x-for-399-9700x-299-and-9600x-229/index.html
  16. The 7950x will run circles around the 7800X3D for encoding. Ido not have the experience with WoW that @electrosoft has, but the 7950x is no slouch for gaming.
  17. @electrosoft https://wccftech.com/msi-agesa-1-2-0-0a-bios-am5-motherboards-adds-curve-shaper-expo-on-the-fly-opp-support-amd-ryzen-9000/amp/ https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-X670E-CARBON-WIFI/support
  18. Ryzen 9950x reaches over 55k CB 23, on LN2. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/ryzen-9-9950x-overclocked-to-67-ghz-with-ln2-liquid-nitrogen-helps-amds-newest-flagship-break-previous-world-records
  19. Microsoft entertainment keyboard back in the day was the most I ever spent. I think it was around $250, but that was 20 years ago money.
  20. I just read where Intel is denying RMA's as well. I need to find the article.
  21. Have you had a chance to try the new bios for the Carbon yet? I have had zero time in the office except to print some documents.
  22. So, I just read this at Tom's hardware. I couldn't care less about single core performance, it just shows how wanky everything is until release day. AMD's Ryzen 9000 single-core performance again impresses in early Geekbench results — 9700X, 9600X dominate previous-gen AMD and Intel CPUs https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/amds-ryzen-9000-single-core-performance-again-impresses-in-early-geekbench-results-9700x-9600x-dominate-previous-gen-amd-and-intel-cpus
