  1. 28gb gddr 7, 448bit bus, $2500? https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-rtx-5090-new-rumored-specs-28gb-gddr7-and-448-bit-bus
  2. Tbh I'm not interested in anything single threaded, and there isn't many, if any, current games or software that do not take advantage of multi-thread cpu's. I don't run any of those benchmarks either, because what's the point? Seeing if your excel spreadsheet opens a micro second faster? I haven't cared about single threaded benchmarking for over a decade.
  3. There may be a little migration from Intel boys coming this generation. Core ultra doesn't look promising. Less clock speed and no logical cores.
  4. Like I've said before, I absolutely loved the asrock x570 board I had with previous gen Ryzen. Rock solid ocing, no weird glitches, and it was cheap comparably.
  5. Nicely done bro! Maybe someday, I'll be able to finish my office/geek cave. I have 3 office chairs, all junk, a corner desk, which I kind of like, a Costco bookshelf full of harware boxes, an old coffee table, and multiple boxes of crap that need gone through. Ps. You're hired 👍🤙
  6. Still hasn't improved boost clocks, maybe 50mhz. I'm probably going with the 9950x at launch. Not into gaming like I used to be, and gaming benchmarks aren't as fun anymore either. I may get another board too, as I'm not a fan of this one, as you know.
  7. I've already saved multiple copies of the stock vbios. It's a USB ch341a programmer, so there shouldn't be too much power to fry the chip. I have the alligator clip style, and the push/hold/pray style leads. It's been a few years since I've used it.
  8. Ya, I did not like the new bios. It ruined 8000mhz memory, and boot times also. Like I've said, I am not super impressed with this Motherboard, and it's quirky habbits.
  9. Well it was accurate 😞 I immediately tore it apart, and found that the screws had come loose on the waterblock. Not getting good contact would create such a hotspot. Took alcohol and cleaned everything up, and put new thermal pads and a fresh coat of mx-6. Hotspot is down to 80c-85c. I had my ch341 out and ready, but can't find a decent guide on the procedure. From what ive read so far, you must flash the standard aqua bios, then upgrade it via asrocks utility. 525w, 3ghz extreme bios. I also need a refresher course on using the programmer. I last used it trying to unlock a bios on the hp probook I purchased on fleabay.
  10. I'm not sure if that can be accurate. Doesn't make sense that the die is 47 with a Hotspot of 111. That has to be wrong. I think I used arctic silver thermal paste when I put the waterblock on. I guess if I'm going to flash the bios' with a programmer, I might as well repaste.
  11. I am setting it to 3200 in wattman, I am not seeing anything close to that when I monitor it in Aida64. I don't even see it hitting advertised boost. I guess I should run hwinfo while benching, and confirm this. According to hwinfo, I am getting close to 3ghz. 47c doesn't seem very hot to me, but who knows. Seems like I am leaving a lot on the table. Gpu hotspot looks a little toasty ..lol
  12. So I did some research on flashing vbioses on AMD cards. It appears that AMD has locked them down, and in order for me to flash the 3ghz taichi aqua rom, I need to disassemble my card, and flash 2 bioses using a ch341 programmer. (Which I happen to have) Question I have is, would it be worth it? My card boosts to 2750ish, which is as high as I've ever seen it go, even at 3200 in wattman. I'm assuming it's hitting a thermal throttle point, even on liquid. The new bios should remove that correct?
  13. 7608 on steel Nomad. Won't go much higher without chilled water. There is a bot submission of 8442 on a chilled 7900xtx.
  14. Vulkan doesn't run as well as dx12 on Amd. At least that particular bench doesn't.
  15. I didn't read the article, but are they going to make it I to a system Benchmark? Like time spy or firestrike?
  16. Anyone have experience with amdvbflash? I want to flash the taichi aqua vbios to my card since it's a 3ghz stock bios. I get device mismatch and am directed to use the -fp command (force flash) but it doesn't work.
  17. Ya, it's just another speed way Benchmark. It's not a time spy replacement for sure.
  18. I've run it, but have nothing to compare to it, since the bot doesn't have it listed yet. 7557
  19. I like the 56K warning 🤣 Have not seen one of those remarks in quite a while. Not to be off topic...lol
  20. Unfortunately you will never get a laptop that doesn't overheat, IMO. Unless a revolutionary cooling design is invented. Thin and light, with today's hardware = half as hot as the sun.
  21. Isn't it odd, that back in the day, we couldn't wait to install their latest OS. I remember running pirate copies of early XP betas as daily drivers. Now they must force everyone to their next gen OS, as if they know their product is pure crap. Such a shame they went in the toilet. AMD just happened to be the first of many to follow, I'm sure.
