I agree wholeheartedly on single thread scores. It doesn't interest me in the least. I'd rather kiss my sister than to sit and endure a single threaded benchmark. On another note, besides my hardware addiction, I've just purchased another money sucking hobby. -

@electrosoft @jaybee83 this is good news, and somewhat surprising. Zen 5 launch prices expected to be lower than zen 4 launch prices! https://www.bundle.app/en/technology/amd-may-be-doing-something-unprecedented-with-ryzen-9000-C6626952-2124-40D2-8623-0ABF6F065C95 -

On another note, I just saw this story. Overclocking fully supported? https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-9000x3d-series-rumored-to-fully-support-overclocking-zen5-gets-improved-ddr5-memory-support It's only mentioned for the X3D chips. If that's the case, I'll wait for them instead of getting the standard X. -

Hopefully 8000 ram as well. I am still two versions below this one. Which is v1F. I would love to see post times improved also. Once I am to the boot menu it's fairly fast. Changing ram settings makes it horribly and painfully slow. It's like it's checking to make sure the settings you changed will work or fail, but it hangs on code 15 for like 30 seconds. -

@electrosoft https://www.kitguru.net/components/motherboard/joao-silva/msi-launches-new-bios-updates-with-agesa-1-2-0-0-for-600-series-motherboards/ It has not shown up on our product page, though 👎 -

I agree wholeheartedly with that statement, and that's why I stick with the standard Ryzen. On that note, there's this also. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/amds-ryzen-9000-wont-beat-the-previous-gen-x3d-models-in-gaming-but-theyll-be-close-improved-3d-v-cache-coming-too -

I agree on the motherboard aspect. I'm hoping there isn't too much difference between the 600, and 800 series, because I finally have many of the bugs ironed out with my X670. It's been quirky, to say the least, and as much as I'd love to have a shiny new taichi x870, I'd prefer to hang with this gen for maybe another year. -

@electrosoft @jaybee83 45% is a whopping statement! I'll believe it when I buy it! https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-9-9950x-16-core-zen-5-cpu-aida64-benchmarks-ddr5-8000-45-percent-faster-7950x/ -

Nearing 8000 in steel Nomad on the 7900xtx. Vbios makes all the difference 💪 https://hwbot.org/submission/5584594_raiderman_3dmark___steel_nomad_dx12_radeon_rx_7900_xtx_7996_marks -

I'm just the opposite, as the gaming side doesn't interest me as much as the multi threading of the X series. I prefer benching cpu intensive tasks more than 3dmark feces. I don't game as much as I used to, so it doesn't interest me as much. -

I agree, on the boards not being ready by launch, but what's going to be new? USB 4? Some already have that, and this gen's boards already have pcie 5 also. I take all this pre-launch hype with a huge grain of salt nowadays. I do get caught up from time to time, though. To say I'm not excited about the 9950X would be a lie. My inner geek is ready for some more benching. -

That is because they are not the x3d sku they are comparing. My 7950x will not beat the 7800x3d in gaming either, but it will smoke it in multi threaded work loads. The X architecture cannot overcome the cache advantage of the X3D in gaming, even in the newer generation. -

UL server was down yesterday. Pulled up my saved scores, and validated instantly. Haven't hit legendary yet, but will keep pushing. -

Looks as though you could not validate online either. So I'm assuming their server was/is down. -

Rebooting did nothing, won't validate the saved scores. I guess I'll have to DDU, and reinstall drivers, or I wonder if the server is down. Smh BTW, navi48 xtx spotted https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-8000-rdna-4-graphics-card-flagship-navi-48-xtx-gpu-spotted/ -

I love this freaking vbios. It's boosting to almost 3.2ghz, and running 2800mhz on the memory. Firestrike extreme score of 41k. Timespy was just over 30k -

The validation button comes up instead of the "compare results online" button. I click the validate button and it does nothing. I saved the results, and restarted 3dmark, and it does the same thing. I'll try rebooting next. 🤷♂️ -

So I ran timespy, and firestrike extreme, and crushed my old scores, but they won't validate?? -

Did a quick steel Nomad run last night. I'll take a 250 point increase! 7631 to 7893. Can't wait to run some other benches. https://hwbot.org/submission/5579052_ -

After much trial and error, I've finally succeeded. Special thanks to @Mr. Fox for keeping me grounded, and @electrosoft for convincing me to get the taichi (the pcb withstood some serious abuse)
