  1. No, the m17xr4 with 120hz didn't work with the RTX 3000 but I don't remember if I tried it in pure UEFI mode which is how the P4000 works now. I would like to have tried it but I damaged 1 of my RTX 3000 when I pulled off the x bracket installing it in the M6700 cause the heatsink has its own special screw setup. I never encountered an x bracket that was glued on so tight. A very intelligent member of this forum @Aaron44126 said I should have used a heat gun, which I have,I would have pulled out my hair if I had some! So I'm not pulling out my working RTX 3000 from my m18xr2 but for a similar $$$ the RTX 4050 is the next experiment
  2. According to the spec sheet it is DP/DP/HDMI/EDP I am just hoping
  3. I have to agree about battery life! My m18xr2 I purchased 10/12/2012 still has the original battery and its at 97 percent health! I never run any laptop on battery but take them places, roadtrips and like 2 or 3 at a time, there is always a place to plug into. I just like the battery in case of power outage from high winds or trees coming down it gives me a few minuets to shutdown and get my flashlight
  4. All this needs is uninterruptible power supply since it has no battery https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP1500AVRLCD3-Intelligent-System-Outlets/dp/B0BCMLLSHL/ref=sr_1_3?c=ts&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1Y6yxy5lPSI0KlHT8E3Vv7UB0mQbXbgNBIHNd5DxNJAH2mUaHB6qoSbJwdu1H-EW76PDE6TFKUrY8Gi1Rz388zSOYa1gloAxAdvyIKiGdxBsykYLORTFNGvD4QeCGcHkjmnqkcYMRTqGpYQnxde8CS2Fp251QmEYO7AHXyQRfReHXOHyzH1XTYe2dHcNhHdr93HQeQmqfWKMRBLgt_z2i22z21IhkHQhfWPIq4t2HxsrxPAJYNdE1Umf5HVlNalH9abV3KLBk1XW0vZAUQabejXf5moDX_C187pxLdBrmeU.4O2YoJI_8oNypX0msUY6GYwRqrfuHeuBxHy4xZFcIcI&dib_tag=se&keywords=Computer%2BUninterruptible%2BPower%2BSupply%2BUnits&qid=1727724962&s=pc&sr=1-3&ts_id=764572&th=1 uninterruptible power supply since it has no battery
  5. I would prefer the RTX 4060 in the Clevo and being an A card overkill cooling might help the i9-9900K to run cooler cause of the Giant heatsink is all connected
  6. I have M4700, M6700, 2 m17xr4, m18xr2 and P870DMG-3 All are going to get a chance at this card so if it works in 1 I'll have to buy another, this could be a long project
  7. And that RTX 4060 would be a nice upgrade for my P870DMG-3 but the mounting holes look off Imagine an A card in a Clevo?
  8. You should check this thread "Bought RTX 3080 Laptop GPU for my P775TM1-G" on this forum
  9. @ssj92 I was checking specs and the RTX 4050 mobile has DisplayPort 1.4a compared to P4000 has DisplayPort 1.4, I think DisplayPort 1.4a is backward compatible. Just keeping my hopes up cause the P4000 works with LVDS and EDP 120hz screens
  10. Depends on the DIE layout of the card. There is an offset of the DIE and xbracket and mobo mounting holes. My P870DM3-G has a GTX 1080 in secondary and RTX 3080 in primary slot. 3080 mounted to the board but heatsink doesn't line up, the 1080 mounts properly. The 4050 looks like the traditional layout
  11. The RTX 4050 said available on back order when I looked so I made the order any way and the told me when they get the money it will be shipped. They are going on vacation Oct. 1 so I don't know what to expect. (We will have national day holiday off 1st Oct ~ 6 th Oct) So I am hoping Sept.30 it gets shipped
  12. Yeah, I just paid for a RTX 4050 mxm at https://www.x-vsion.com/ Its listed for $280. Its an A card and am going to try it in 1 of my laptops. Its TCP is rated at 70-100Watts They also have a RTX 4060 but its at 115watts Also found a teardown video at 2:26 it looks like the 1 on xvision
  13. OK, Thanks for reminding me, I am not the picture person in the house, my wife keeps me busy unloading her phone all the time, I just seem to overlook that job until it's too late. How many times I assembled my PC and sat back and said Damn I wish I took a pic!
  14. The screw holes line up exactly to the board and the heatsink. Only part of the heatsink overlaps and covers nothing, but it should be more than the cooling the card should ever need
  15. Yes if it comes to that, the card lists DP/HDMI/EDP so if it does not work in m17xr4 with LVDS screen then I will try in m17xr4 with 120hz screen EDP and take out the P4000 and put it in the other. Then if all fail I would like to try the 2nd slot of m18xr2. These old laptops have alot of options LOL. I recently put a T2000 in Precision M4700 and its more powerful than M6700 now. T2000 is an A card, but it has a tab on it preventing installing in M6700, but it also should fit in m17xr4. Seeing how well the T2000 works and seeing a post here on the forums about RTX 4060 mxm A card an ebay selling for $600+ I decided to go back to xvision for $280
