  1. Yes, totally agree with Brother @Rage Set (quoted below). Unless you are one of the "Chosen Ones" with sponsors that give them cherry-picked hardware to play with, nobody makes money or gets famous doing this. It is all for fun and fellowship. We learn stuff from one another and find things in common. So, anything you want to bench and share with us. To name just a few, randomly and from the top of my head, some of the more entertaining benchmarks are: Catzilla https://www.catzilla.com/ Unigine Sanctuary https://benchmark.unigine.com/sanctuary Unigine Tropics https://benchmark.unigine.com/tropics Unigine Valley https://benchmark.unigine.com/valley Unigine Heaven https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven Unigine SuperPosition https://benchmark.unigine.com/superposition Metro and Metro Last Light Benchmarks (included with games) Gears of War Benchmarks (included with games) Deus Ex Benchmarks (included with games) Just Cause Benchmarks (included with games) Far Cry Benchmarks (included with games) Dirt and Dirt 2 Benchmarks (included with games) Adrenaline Action Benchmark Suite* (Supports: Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution, Sleepings Dogs) Aliens v. Predator Benchmark* Sniper and SniperElite V2 Benchmarks* Crysis and Crysis 2 Benchmark Tools* Streetfighter Benchmark* Monster Hunter Online Benchmark* Final Fantasy Benchmarks (there are many to choose from) * Some of these are old and hard to find. I downloaded them when they were still available from the originating author web pages, but you can skip surfing shady web sites packing malware and grab them from my Google Drive >> LINK << Thank you. I know you and a number of others were affected by it and it is nice to be part of a group of people that care about each other even though we have never met one another face-to-face. It means a lot to me, brother. That is a really tough call. All good boards, but given all of them are insanely expensive (save for maybe the Strix) I would probably go with the Dark mobo. Amen to that. Brother @johnksss disappeared on us again. Things must have gotten really busy at work, but that is a good problem to have.
  2. Thank you. It is an excellent silicon sample. Not as good as the one I had purchased from Brother @Talonthat an unfortunate accident destroyed (still heartbroken over that). I am going to see if chilled water will let me break the 5.7GHz barrier this weekend.
  3. Speaking of "butt" I wonder if my post over here brought any clarity to the situation.
  4. Double-taxation is a growing issue that reflects the high degree of immorality that exists in government; especially so when dimwitted progressive socialism gets its hooks in a country's butt. Sales tax was already paid. Charging it a second time is inappropriate. Income tax was paid. Selling stuff one purchased with after-tax income doesn't produce income. It produces loss. Time to clean house in city, state and Federal governments... long overdue for taking out the trash. Government needs to stick with law enforcement, national security, and border security and butt the hell out of everything else in our lives.
  5. OK, got the new CPU all reset with bare die. Temps fell right in line where they should be on ambient water cooling. Core max under 65°C on CBR20. I dropped it in the Strix for a few minutes to check the ASIC. SP92.
  6. So, I moved the 10900K I was running in my benching monster to my work system. Nice upgrade for it, too. More than enough juice for my workhorse.
  7. As much as I love EVGA and their products, I just can't see it being worth that much. Although, my second choice would be an Apex and it's nearly as much. For $100 extra, I would have to think about it. Paying $100 more for something I would prefer rather than settling for something less bears some level of consideration, but prices of anything worth considering is just off-the-rails extremely stupid overpriced right now. Everything is a very poor value.
  8. Well, isn't that precious... Saving the planet one e-core at a time. Bless their heart. Tree-hugging stupidity is becoming more popular now that it is chic to say whatever you decide you want to believe is based on "science" even when it isn't.
  9. IMC is stronger, too. I moved my RAM clock from 4500 to 4600 without adjusting timings or voltage.
  10. Hmm... what, did I get lucky? Dang, I might finally have a reason to be happy about something tech related, LOL. This is liable to be too much fun with bare die on chilled water. Non-AVX mode... AVX mode...
  11. Woo, this is going to be fun on chilled water. Passed 53x all core with 1.275V in my hot office without a hiccup.
  12. So, I got another nice 10900K sample today. My daily driver was 53x core, 50x cache with 1.375V. I set this in the socket and dropped the voltage from 1.375V to 1.300V, pressed F10 and booted to desktop. No other changes, just made that one change. Passed CBR20 with fliying colors, so I will have fun seeing if I just guessed perfectly on the first try, or I can go lower. This is no chilled water. KPX paste. First run with no other tweaking or testing. My office is 77.8°F.
  13. Man, I really hate eBay. I feel sexually violated anything I sell something through their mafia web site. So, basically I lost $70 on the sale if I don't count the $32 I paid for the buyer to have "free" shipping. Bastards. (Sale price was $400.)
  14. Yup. Nothing is too crappy for the turdbook kiddos. As long as it has RGB and an anorexic form factor it doesn't need to be worth a damn otherwise.
  15. That is a great phone. My wife and I got pair of the V30 ThinQ in a BOGO deal from T-Mobile when they were new releases and just recently replaced them. Mine still looks like new and it served me well for a long time. Same. No interest in playing games on one. That seems really lame to me. I use my phones primarily as a phone, text messaging and to spontaneously capture photos. I like OnePlus and Google Pixel phones because they are excellent quality and easier to root. There is a growing number of phones that are highly root-resitant and I really hate that. Going forward, I do not plan to purchase any phones that make rooting difficult or impossible. My OnePlus 8T was very easy to root.
  16. I know, right? Totally love the look of how he decorated it. I also love that KPE backplate and wish I had one just like it for mine. I am tempted to see if I can have one fabricated. Having the MP5WORKS block bolted solid to it would be awesome versus using the bungie straps.
  17. Guys, check out this 3090 KPE custom backplate, as well as this fellow's crazy awesome steampunk office.
  18. The preview is too small to see anything and if I click the image to enlarge it I get a "Bad Gateway" error.
  19. Awesome, thanks. I will reply if I notice an improvement or an issue.
  20. So, I put one of the OptimusPC full cover thermal pads on the 3090 KPE. It produced a modest improvement in temperatures. The backplate doesn't gets as crazy hot directly over the core and memory components and the entire backplate gets warmer than it used to. (Seems completely logical, as the heat is being more evenly distributed across the backplate than before.) It is a little better overall. But, it wasn't the major improvement I was hoping for. I used EVGA OC Scanner's Furmark Memory Burner tool for 5 minutes before and after, so that is also a pretty brutal test. We will see how it does with the backplate water block once it gets here. This should be a good foundation for the backplate water block to work more effectively.
  21. It probably will not launch on newer versions of W10/11. I know it won't on my systems. It only works on LTSC 2019 (1809) and older because the newer OSes are too screwed up. Here is a link to download it from my Google Drive. Feel free to download it and try it though. I would if I were in your shoes. It is often hard to find good bin quality in CPUs below the flagship model. Your benchmark is not accurate because both GPUs are selected. Uncheck the Intel graphics and run it again. Notice it says 2 GPUs.
  22. Yup. CPU, GPU, RAM, WIFI, storage... soldered is bantha fodder. Touchpads with discrete buttons also suck, but not nearly as much as buttonless clickpads do. Amen. Common sense is becoming very difficult to identify. Laptop engineers seem to be collectively devoid of it.
  23. You and @Hieware doing a nice job of keeping the new house in order. The competing forum (for lack of a better term) doesn't seem to be well-kept. They are leaving spambot feces all over the place, including porno garbage. Posts have been reported and some ignored for days now. Examples: https://www.laptopforum.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=39
