Samsung 32" 4K VA. I don't do much gaming anymore, so the 60Hz are totally fine with me. I have been using the display since 2018.

Only visible on the laptop display and selection is only possible with the laptop also, because BT isn't loaded yet.

I am running Linux Mint and WIn11 in dual-boot mode. Is there a way to make GRUB use the external display as primary for boot selection? In addition i have the issue that BT isn't yet active in GRUB and i always have to open the laptop until the OS is being loaded. The BIOS of my P670HP6-G is outdated and doesn't have options regarding the display or BT like more modern ones. And yes, i always have to open the lid a little bit for pushing the power button, but that is nothing against the current ordeal. Especially when switching OS a couple of times during the day.

LOTRO More or less the only game i have been playing since 2007. Still fun, but my time is very limited anyway. Runs also on Mint through Steam without issues.

The sub-par 300nits on the display must be a typo? They cannot be serious with this in 2023. -
Twitter is dead to me and i have moved on to the Fediverse. I already run my own (private Mastodon) instance.

That is a very good point. You actually need a use-case for justifying more than 1Gbps. If i transfer many or big files through my network from device A to B i don't care, if it takes 30s or 5mins. Over 95% of the time these transfers are running in the background anyway.

No reaction from admins, so i made a new account
Linux replied to Linux's topic in New here? Introduce Yourself
@RecieverI am using a well-known e-mail provider, with which i had never any issues regarding registration processes. I used the same for the new account as well, only with another alias for apparent reasons. Not an issue anymore, i have a new account and i can live with that. -

What phone are you daily driving currently?
Linux replied to Katja's topic in Mobile Devices & Gadgets
Since the Nexus 4 i never had something else than a Google phone. -
I had 1Gpbs for ages now and i had thoughts about upgrading, but scratched them altogether. Unnecessary and still far too pricey. If my internet connection will be faster than 1Gpbs in the future, i may give it another shot. P.S. My Pixel 6 Pro has actually broken the 1Gpbs barrier via Wifi, but that doesn't count without an actual receiving network device.

I will never undestand the issue with BGA, because all of my former and current BGA machines never had any issues. In addition to my Clevo i am running Ubuntu server on an Intel NUC. The thing runs Nextcloud, an e-mail server and a Fediverse instance (and a couple of other services) and it doesn't even blink.

Wasn't there a way to ignore threads that they don't show up at all in views and searches? f.e. i don't care about all the benchmarking threads and some other topics as well.

Official Clevo P67xHP6-G/P67xHS-G (Sager NP8176/8177) Thread
Linux replied to defcon42's topic in Sager & Clevo
Am i really the one in here using this series? Since the BIOS is EOL i wanted check for a newer custom BIOS to flash if available and if it brings any advantages. I haven't had any performance or compatibility issues with the machine, so there wasn't any reason to look for new one. -

And i am currently testing various alternative OS for the Pixel. I already have some experience with LOS on my 3XL. But i don't like the permanently open bootloader on LOS. -

But why are you offfering them in the login form at all in the first place? You even get a success message that an e-mail has been sent for a reset. In addition, an answer via contact form is also not too much to ask, even if the request is denied. -

I switched from a Pixel 3XL to 6 Pro 6 months ago. -
I am not really new here, my "old" alias was defcon42. I have been trying to get a password reset directly and by using the contact form for almost 2 months now and didn't get any reaction at all. I got a new phone and the authenticator for 2FA couldn't obviously know the site info. Since i am dual-booting to Linux Mint/Win11 i got me a fitting new alias as well. When looking at my own Clevo thread, it seems that i am still the only one using the P670HP6-G. I am still in awe of this machine, it feels like a lottery pick or maybe the guys from OBSIDIAN-PC (RIP) just did an outstanding job building it. It nears the 6 year mark and is as fast as on the first day. Dead silent when not gaming, battery health >90% and all temperatures always in a good range. Let's see, what i have missed in the last months and most important, who else is running Linux on a gaming laptop in here.
