im happy with how cable management turned out, must say not bad for being out of the desktop game 15 years now, eh? 😁

Cool. How does the air inflow work? Fans on top blowing down?

for now i only have the AiO rad fans up front as intakes, nothing else. i held back on purchasing additional fans because i wanted to have the case in front of me first for planning out number and orientation, as well as keeping as much budget as possible for the unknown gpu prices at launch. im glad i did for the latter, lol.

ill be ordering 6x Noctua 140mm IPPC3000 fans to switch the rad to push n pull up front as intake, then move the current Arctic P14 ARGB fans to the top as outlets. i plan to add in additional 3x P12 to the bottom as intakes, one P14 in the back as outlet and maybe one more P14 on the back of the GPU to assist the vertical air flow from the bottom across the GPU and put some direct airflow on the RAM sticks to help with OC.

basically, i now got all the core system components together, so the focus will shift more towards accessories like fans, internal display, monitor colorimeter for calibration, etc....

Sounds like a plan. This is getting a bit off topic, but have you used IPPC3000s before? They are supposed to be quite loud at higher speeds.

haha nope, havent used them before, but im aware that they tend to get pretty loud. but keeping them at 800 rpm or fan stop should be fine for desktop use / light loads. just want to have the ability to ramp things up when needed 😉

No need to have the Arctic cooler's fan cables in front🙂 Just mount the cable on the other side of the fans and out of sight. And happy building, brother. Looking good.

But be careful with too much bling bling. Not ok for the eyes, LOOL

When I had the AF 420 in my box, I replaced the fans and tied the cable out of sight. This way I didn't have to cut them (if I later want to sell the cooler).

Somebody needs to release one that has a full GPU block like the EVGA Hydro Copper that is, in every respect, ordinary GPU block except that it comes with a pre-installed AIO with the pump mounted at the radiator. Then the person buying it could simply remove the G1/4 fittings from the block an add it to a custom loop if they wanted it that way later on. Then there would be nothing extra to buy unless you wanted to, and refilling and servicing the AIO would be as easy as refilling and servicing a custom loop. It would give the owner all the options that a normal AIO offers and all of the freedom afforded by a custom loop if they decide to go that way later on.

They could even get creative in the design of the block to do something revolutionary like incorporating a DDC pump into the plexi top on the block. That would also be serviceable if it were an industry standard DDC pump. It would also provide an inline auxiliary pump on a custom loop similar to a chassis mounted distribution block with an integrated DDC pump.

Another way an AIB partner could distinguish itself and offer something unique and compelling for customers to purchase their brand is to develop a proprietary software utility that would only work for their brand that would function similar to NVCleanstall that would mod a standard Nvidia driver to add Windows 7 support for their vendor-specific hardware ID. It could be a one-click mod and install utility. I can tell you right now that I would buy that brand over another.

Others would potentially follow their lead and prove to the world that they are no longer a harlot that is willing to kiss the hiney (or something more deviant below the belt) of the Redmond Retards.

Dayum. That's like an 1100 point drop on the overall score if I am seeing it correctly. Hopefully, it is just a driver glitch and not a real issue. I am already resistant to purchasing a product that doesn't support Windows 7, but I would certainly dismiss the viability of any hardware that would require Winduhz 11 to achieve full performance. That would be a realy douchebag issue to have to put up with and I don't think I would willingly tolerate it. Companies that do stuff like that deliberately deserve to be decimated financially, with extreme malice and ill will... just to return the favor. They way I see it, a stab in the back deserves a bullet to the brain.

That was a bit of a joke on the back of people claiming Alder Lake performs better on Windows 10. That's inconsistent with my experience and Intel recommendations. Perhaps it does in some benchmarks but not others and not necessarily in actual applications.

haha yep, im aware of those fan cables up front. this was just a quick swap of the fans to the other side of the rad so that i would only need one set of screws to tighten the rad and the fans to the case. this is just temporary anyways until i get the Noctua fans in 🙂

as for BLING, for now no other choice until i get to installing 😂 and other input u have for the build or the LF II 420, lemme know bud.

iirc i read on overclock.net that the Gigabyte liquid card has a true waterblock on it that covers everything. so not just a hybrid  thingy like the MSI Liquid sku. however, i dunno if that would include easily disconnectable tubes from the card.

speaking of overclock.net, i stayed up late last night and scoured several forums and news sites to get a feel of how the sales launch went for the 4090. seems that there were a LOT of scalpers and bots out there buying up almost all the inventory. this resulted in a LOT of angry would-be buyers who didnt get a shot at getting a card. after reading all that im even more happy i was able to snipe a 4090, at a great price and with a reputable shop, at that!

in the meantime, ive been looking around here in Europe for stock and i can still see cards popping up here and there and in stock / actually buy-able. so i think this is some kind of delayed release where shops and distributors just let them trickle out bit by bit so that bots n scalpers have less of an impact in buying up huge amount of cards all at once. lets see how this continues!

anyone dare to bet that 4090 stock will SUDDENLY be completely grand and awesome once RDNA comes around? 😂

btw, card should be here any minute now, w00t w00t 😁

Interesting. AFAIR they were also louder in the 800-2k RPM range vs the other Noctua fans due to a different design. Will be interesting to see what you'll find. Being a bit paranoid about noise, I did not even get one to test - possibly a mistake.

Def feels like a semi-paper release. Zero availability in the UK as far as I could see. Being a de facto monopolist is just great, you can pull sh1t like that on your customers no problem - they won't just turn around and buy a competing product.

Yeah, close but no cigar there. I would be inclined to pass on that. They ruined it with fixed hoses and putting them on the end like that was an extremely stupid idea that limits installation options. A poorly designed and very ugly product.

Being a de facto monopolist is just great, you can pull sh1t like that on your customers no problem - they won't just turn around and buy a competing product.

nah im not too worried about noise. just need to ensure the wife approval factor goes through haha

Thanks for the testing bro John. A huge downturn for me have to install Win 11 only for 3Dmark suite. I try to avoid have it installed in my pc's. Have more than enough ssd place for it but the new OS give me nothing (tested it several times). Even tweaked. Can you check out all benches in 3Dmark package and post results (Win 10 vs 11)? Same for Superposition benchmark. Both oc'd and stock results. I think Nvidia help Microsoft to tune drivers to work better for their newest OS. Because Microsoft need all help they can get. Again thanks 🙂

The benefit of Intel Thread Director in Win 11 is likely to be less visible in straightforward synthetic benchmarks such as CB, which just load every core with a similar piece of pure computation. The optimal scheduling is trivial here. You need more complicated workloads to see the difference, even 3D Mark is potentially slightly more tricky to schedule for Windows 10 on Alder Lake.

Ask and you shall receive (sorta) 🙂

haha yep, im aware of those fan cables up front. this was just a quick swap of the fans to the other side of the rad so that i would only need one set of screws to tighten the rad and the fans to the case. this is just temporary anyways until i get the Noctua fans in 🙂

as for BLING, for now no other choice until i get to installing 😂 and other input u have for the build or the LF II 420, lemme know bud.

upgrading from a 980M to a Suprim X 4090? nah, id say that upgrade would be barely noticeable.... 🤣 and yes, i went with the MSI haha

iirc i read on overclock.net that the Gigabyte liquid card has a true waterblock on it that covers everything. so not just a hybrid  thingy like the MSI Liquid sku. however, i dunno if that would include easily disconnectable tubes from the card.

speaking of overclock.net, i stayed up late last night and scoured several forums and news sites to get a feel of how the sales launch went for the 4090. seems that there were a LOT of scalpers and bots out there buying up almost all the inventory. this resulted in a LOT of angry would-be buyers who didnt get a shot at getting a card. after reading all that im even more happy i was able to snipe a 4090, at a great price and with a reputable shop, at that!

in the meantime, ive been looking around here in Europe for stock and i can still see cards popping up here and there and in stock / actually buy-able. so i think this is some kind of delayed release where shops and distributors just let them trickle out bit by bit so that bots n scalpers have less of an impact in buying up huge amount of cards all at once. lets see how this continues!

anyone dare to bet that 4090 stock will SUDDENLY be completely grand and awesome once RDNA comes around? 😂

btw, card should be here any minute now, w00t w00t 😁

I can feel your excitement brother! Jesus a 980m to 4090, holy crap you're going to be blown away by the performance. Unboxxing pictures or RIOT!!! 😀

Yeah, close but no cigar there. I would be inclined to pass on that. They ruined it with fixed hoses and putting them on the end like that was an extremely stupid idea that limits installation options. A poorly designed and very ugly product.

Gigabutt should have made it like this, only with an easily removable hybrid add-on.

Yeah the Gigabyte model extends it a bit further than an EVGA/MSI AIO Hybrid and uses a copper plate to cover all the vital hot spots but it isn't as expansive or well done as a true block. The 3090 variant had decent temps.

Here is Dawid breaking the 3090ti variant down:
