And 3090 Ti = Name change from Titan. So a lot cheaper than previous gen Titan cards. 3080 and 3080 Ti was their high end Geforce cards.

Ti is not quite the same as TITAN, it's cut-down.

For one thing, Nvidia kept the reduced to 50% double-precision processing speed in the Ti cards, same as in the rest of GeForce Ampere line. There are also other differences, although at least they retained NVLink. Will be interesting to see if they bring it back in 4090 Ti.

3090 Ti isn't that much faster than 3090, yet there was a whopping price jump. This time around, the autoscalped price of the 4090 will help Nvidia launch the 4090 Ti at $2k or more.

Just a tiny uptick, but only enough to make you realize you got screwed on the 3090, thinking you were buying the best the generation had to offer.

Especially when my 5700xt still plays pretty much everything I throw at it. iirc when overclocked performed in tandem with the 1080ti which is still respectable in its own right. Heck even the 1080 still does well only reason I stopped using it was because I took my experiments too far lol.

Could be they go back to Titan branding. AMD have nothing now that can compete... So minimum $3000 if they go with 48GB ram. Not so sure $2500+ for a  24GB Titan/Ti is so much better. Have said this before... But Nvidia won't try compete with their 4090 AIB cards at 2000$. So 2500$ as minimum if they keep same amount vRam as for 4090.

They could well release both: a Ti card, basically just faster 4090, and a Titan with more RAM and the Titan features. The latter would fiercely compete with their professional offerings so not sure if they would do that. My impression is that they have been dumbing down the GeForce line (example anticonsumer practices here: blocking features in the drivers, crudely removing the NVLink socket) to limit professional use and force users who need those features to buy the grossly overpriced pro cards (somewhat idiotically named since Ampere).

Yeah the specs are a bit weird, yeah not using my 3090FE, Plan to sell it which is like-new, and a 1080P display instead of 1440P, 10th gen instead of 13th (ILM, and Windows 7 plus already bought the parts). No AIO... sorry bro @Papusan I had to get Air because that LFII only fits 360mil version not 420mil because the storage layout of my case won't let 420 mount, and I need storage layout only. Plus the one I had it has that QC issue and I do not want to use one with that even I can service it, maybe I will send to Arctic or do it myself and keep it as a backup until any cooler which can be user serviced likes of Alphacool, still any AIO the pipes will block the front part top side and force me to use lower portion making airflow non uniform as I plan to fit 6xSATA HDDs which are 7200RPM and Datacenter Class. I plan to keep this machine for a long long time.

Why 1080P, because I want to game at maximum FPS at maximum fidelity without any Upscaling nonsense and 1440P same spec is $600+. Also G-Sync Ultimate because it has that fpga Nvidia chip which allows G-Sync without WDDM2.0 driver interaction a.k.a Windows 10+ only while the chip allows it to perform the Sync on Windows 7 too without WDDM that's the only advantage of Ultimate and maybe panel binning. Will get 4K OLED maybe in the future if I see it fit for another machine.

Now the machine is not 100% up because ASUS is idiot company as they made 8xSATA ports in X Cross manner meaning none of the cables we use will fit as populating all of them will make it cumbersome and have fitment issues (bought Corsair cables and wasted money on them), I bought these Silverstone cables, they are trash as they do not have metal clips and they get stuck due to that, cable is cheap as even trying to remove them caused the cable to cut itself and totally overpriced junk. Waiting for Amphenol connectors from Moddiy. And the Tempered glass is shattered while I was transporting it. And if I plug the GPU I cannot connect SATA because look at it, which is why GPU is in 2nd PCIex16 slot.

Will post better pictures once everything is up and running. Until then excuse me for this clumsy one.

ASUS gave me hell, their board's physical QC was poor and the one board which was ok was a DOA and failed to POST. Finally one works, Chose ASUS because of BIOS features and 8x SATA without any compromise in 2xNVMe.

I though it didn't have an MSRP at first, and that AIB's just generally decided that it was 2k? I guess I'm wrong though.

Very nice rig bro @Ashtrix 🙂 Another option for the cooling... EVGA 280mm AIO. I have one of them. A fantastic AIO and you can get the next newest model. Almost no bling bling. Run and buy if you find one. And please post a few more pict of your machine. Happy New year to you bro Ashtrix 🙂

While custom water cooling will always be my first option, I am now considering air coolers for any system that I won't be overclocking more than 10 to 15%. I have been using an IceGiant ProSiphon Elite on my TRX40 system (I removed my custom water loop from that system last spring) and it was one of the only air coolers that could keep up with my custom loop (360 rad, push/pull) with the fans set to 1200RPM.

Nice looking build but most importantly, functional.

So it's the actual reference VC causing the problem...

I'll have to re-review the WoW data we collected with the Powercolor 7900xtx. It might have been a throttling issue in there too.

Looking at some MSI/GPUZ logs today from our WoW FP DF runs, it looks like the PowerColor 7900xtx he picked up (and has since returned) to MC was indeed hitting ~110 on the HS numerous times with throttling. I'm going to just (re)pick up an XFX Merc 7900xtx from BB and retest again since it has one of the beefier custom HSF out there. Hopefully my 10% off coupon still works (fingers crossed).

Re-ordered an XFX Merc 7900xtx with 10% off coupon from BB. Should be here later this week for some more comparisons and analysis especially against reference card data and hotspot inferno on the PC 7900xtx.

RTX 4080 still sitting at BB for pickup but I'm going to extend that pickup window till at least the 12th while I work with this XFX 7900xtx a bit personally against my 3090ti data and my Strix 3080.

I don't know if I can stomach a 4080 at the price analysis and wanting to go 4090 if I go that direction.

Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year 2023: GIFs and wishes to share with family and friends on WhatsApp

Finally my dream PC is ready and even updated the BIOS to 1202 for Windows 7 ACPI and POST done succesfully,

A year late. But better late than never I guess. I join the big leagues at last !

Welcome to a new RIG !!

BIOS 1202

ASUS gave me hell, their board's physical QC was poor and the one board which was ok was a DOA and failed to POST. Finally one works, Chose ASUS because of BIOS features and 8x SATA without any compromise in 2xNVMe.

Cheers !!

Beautiful setup and SP113 10900k? Mmmmmm........... that's a banger of a chip right there!

OK, I think I got this dialed in now for my 24/7 overclock. It's so easy to run these generic green A-die sticks at 8000 MT/s. It's ludicrous in light of how many retail kits I RMA'd with RGB rainbow vomit and sloppy loose gamerkidz XMP profiles that cost double, were pure garbage and would barely even boot at speeds like this. Consumers are getting screwed real hard.

Why in earth did Galax go with abysmall 1300w for their "Hall Of Fame" PSU with dual 16-pin power connectors intended to be paired with their custom Galax 4090 GPUs with a +1000W vbios? Who will pay premium for a 1300w PSU? Kids or people with more money than brain? Or because of the tacky modern Apple white color?

This is cost cutting at the worst. Galax could go with 1600w PSU if they really wanted offer something premium. But I expect they had to offer more ports on the PSU who cost money if they increased the power from 1300 to 1600w. What a Joke from a company that cater to oc'ers and enthusiasts.

I scored 10 000 in cinebench r23 with my 11800h. I ran higher clocks this time but was thermal throttling still but managed 11100.  points not bad not good. my gpu is also scoring lower around 8400 in timespy. I think its time to repaste.

wish I could afford a 4090 and 13900k

Yep, Best Buy. If you're near a MC that is always the easiest check too.
