That is a really nice score, Brother @johnksss. Can you post a screenshot of what settings you are applying with the Classified tool? I'd like to see if my GPU is even capable of running those clocks. I serious doubt that it will.

Thanks.

I just set NVVDD 1.2V and MSVDD 1.1V and that's it.

Your card is a good one as it already had high memory over clocking and is able to run constantly above 2220 MHZ core.

My best card was crying at 2165 core / 1400 memory

Thanks. I will give that a go after I get the chiller reconnected. (Had to order more fittings after adding the manifold.) I may be using too much voltage.

Are you using the XOC 1000W vBIOS from Vince for that or one of the standard vBIOS that ships on the card? I have not done any experimenting the the firmware included on the card from the factory. I flashed the vBIOS from Vince right away when I bought the GPU and haven't even tried to do any benching with anything else since then.

As annoying as this fella can be sometimes, this is pretty interesting. It's unfortunate that there are no high-end DDR4 Z690 motherboards for sale. I'm confident it will improve in time as the new memory technology matures, but at the moment DDR5 certainly seems like snake oil. (And, then we will all be stuck with crappy old DDR5 poorly performing "beta" memory modules nobody wants that cost us three times more than DDR4, LOL.)

It kind of reminds me of the old AMD CPUs that would overclock insanely high long before 5.0GHz became very ordinary, but they still ran like dog poop compared to an Intel CPU.

Hummm, he must have another video showing what he did....4133 cl15 from what exactly? Running 7000Mhz for what again exactly? He could have ran 6400 mhz and lower the timings to get the desired affect instead of bragging with the look at me running 7000mhz on water at cl32.🤦‍♂️ The higher the mhz the higher the read/write/copy speed is, not the latency. In the end he is right that one does not need to upgrade to ddr5 at the moment, but then everyone is entitled to their own decisions...

I didn't use a chiller to break 16k, did it on the AIO which I previously thought was like impossible. Due to my first sample.

Can do like 15.8 to 15.9k (Port Royal)on 520W vbios as well. I was lazy there as I did not dial anything specific in just tried a few things to see what would happen. You run out of watts long before temps kill you off.

Also yes, I'm using the 1K vbios, but have the 520 and 480 on position 1 and 2.

The difference is in monetization. The old model was value was achieved in a quality product you paid for and kept it moving. There were no free upgrades. Now they are basically giving it away and turning it into a data collecting, soon to be ads servicing Facebook'esque "you are the product" OS. It went from no M$ account, to M$ account optional (look at all these services!) to M$ account required.

It's getting pretty gross.

People mostly prefer plug and play (no tweaking). And most people don't buy the most expensive gear (neither if its the DDR4 or DDR5). And its well know that DDR5 ain't much better in games... So, a new click bite. But I still enjoy his videos.

DDR5 is what DDR4 was. It will maiture with age. The main problem is the MB manufacturers. They have to offer premium at premium price. Hence they don't want pair DDR4 with the upper class motherboards. People simply don't connetc DDR4 as premium products going forwards. They all think that the newest has to be better. Add in older DDR4 doesn't match what they expect or think what they want for newest gears.

Edit. Happy to see you here bro @jc_denton🙂

Now I'm in no way shape or form a good memory overclocker, but running this vs running latency at like 55+ and higher never ends well.

Exactly. Everyone is not rushing to by 12 series system. At least not in my line of work which is the pc industry. So 10 and 11 series system are perfectly fine. I deal with normal folks on a regular basis and about 98 percent of them are not talking about top of the line anything. budget is king! 😂

At this rate, they'll be at 1099 soon ~$100 over MSRP.

The Asrock OC Formula 6900xt with xtxh is down to $1239.99 too at Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/asrock-radeon-rx-6900-xt-rx6900xt-ocf-16g/p/N82E16814930057?Item=N82E16814930057

With the 6950xt (aka OC binned XTXH) on the horizon these prices are continuing to fall quite nicely.

Peddie thinks inflated prices will likely plummet when retailers and scalpers have excess inventory that they can't move, and we agree with the analyst. The issue is that what Peddie suggests won't happen soon, so we must exercise enormous patience to avoid temptation.

I think it will come sooner than later. Now its up to Nvidia and AMD push out enough cards. But will they? It probably depends on how near we are launch of next gen cards.

GPU Prices Will Eventually Plummet, Analyst Says

According to Peddie, graphics card suppliers aren't the ones benefitting from the price surge. Instead, the retailers (Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, etc.) and scalpers are the parties reaping the handsome profits. Meanwhile, shops like Best Buy got more creative and put Nvidia's Ampere graphics cards behind a $200 paywall. Unfortunately, the measure backfired and ended up helping scalpers, not gamers, get graphics cards.

Soooooooooo. I get my Unify X board back today and go ahead and put it back on the bench and low and behold...It's not fixed! 🤬🤬 For what I sent it in for it looks like all they did was clean the board somewhat and put it in a new box and shipped it back! Saying it was fixed. QC is crap!

Sadly, that seems to be a universal truth for PC tech in the 21st century. All of the OEMs/ODMs suck now. Lack of regard for customer experience, an absence of pride in the products they sell, lackluster QC and technical incompetence seem to be status quo now. The goal is to get our money and getting what we pay for isn't high on their list of priorities. Their lists seem to be limited to:

  • Charge as much as people are stupid enough to pay
  • Get the money, and say what you need to accomplish that
  • Lie to whatever extent it is necessary to keep the money
  • Deny any and all liability for mistakes, errors and omissions
  • Make excuses to the extent necessary to shirk responsibility
  • Make warranty fulfillment as slow, difficult and painful as possible

Hey guys, What sites do you typically use for sourcing parts needed for open air benching?

I have little time these days but wanted to dabble a bit more in the benching scene with some of the older (notably cheaper) stuff once I can get this 10th gen setup running. Its probably going to be a dual-boot scenario since @Mr. Fox provided Win10.

Since there is some disillusion with Windows, OEM's, ODM's, why dont we build a Linux oriented HWBOT? Its been on my mind for some time but I alone could never build it responsibly especially when I have other responsibilities here and projects to grow.

If you guys want to build something and want a private space, the forum is at your disposal.

Closer and closer to the big boys. 4th place. I'm sure Win 7 or even Win 8.1 will do wonders for further improvements 🙂

The PrimoChill Praxis Wetbench is my favorite because it has all of the features of a case with no walls to get in the way.

I have an aluminum frame open bench that has been sitting in my closet unused for a long time. If you are interested in that, let me know and I will post some pictures for you to see what it looks like. It was very convenient for binning CPUs. Very compact. If you are not planning to run a bunch of SATA drives (it will accommodate a couple) it is a nice setup.

I like the idea of a Linux-centered leaderboard like HWBOT. I am not sure how much back-end work that would require. I don't have sufficient free time to figure it out, but I would certainly submit benchmarks.

The fittings I needed to re-connect the chiller arrives a day earlier than expected. It is good having that working again. The third D5 pump really boosted the water flow rate.

Short video for a friend that asked for detailed information on how I have configured the cooling lines for quick and easy radiator bypass when using the chiller. YouTube is still processng it, so the quality is poor at the moment. It should be availale in full resolution soon.
