Remember what AMD said... No need for a huge cooler or the new 600w Nvidia power connector as Nvidia because we go with a more power efficient GPU design and can cut costs due our engineering decision for the GPU reference design. And due the lower GPU's TGP we can now do "cost cutting" on the mounting on the GPU cooler. The shorter time each fabric worker spend on each card.... More profits to AMD. On AMD's own Reddit page, nero1338 writes that he tried to make a warranty claim on his Radeon RX 7900 XTX, but that it was denied by AMD, who in an email reply briefly stated that "temperatures are normal". Barely a day after the post was published, an AMD employee contacted the user and wrote that they wanted to examine the graphics card, whereupon nero1338 was asked to send it to AMD's office in Canada. AMD denies warranty case on overheating Radeon RX 7900 XTX Graphics card yesterday 14:13 Users report that their Radeon RX 7900 XTX tops out at 110 degrees, the fan runs high, and performance drops. It is currently not known what AMD is doing to curb the problems and whether they will start accepting RMA cases on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX that uses the company's reference design MBA. Worth noting is that the owner of an RX 7900 XTX does not need to worry about the high temperatures, as the worst that happens is that the clock frequencies are lowered precisely to prevent overheating and that the hardware is damaged. Nice. Just remove the reply/thread from the Hwbot forum and no one know what happened. And no one will know how flawed the validation software can be. Typical Azor-type denial using the "this is fine" answer for overheating, thermal throttling and product degradation. That response proves a lack of care for the product and the consumer, with the probability of an underlying incentive to shorten the product lifespan in hope that they can sell a replacement when the product fails prematurely. What it fails to contemplate is the probability that unless the consumer is an idiot they won't repeat the horrible decision again and will buy something better from a competitor next time. 4 1 WRAITH // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO (T-Rex) BANSHEE // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 (Rhinoceros) SPECTRE // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 48GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 (Rattlesnake) HALF-BREED // Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth | 32GB DDR4 | Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Nothing to Write Home About (Turdbook) Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. ryan
found a video comparing amd to intel and nvidia. I was expecting the intel and nvidia setup to be quite a bit faster like 2x. but it really isnt. when the AMD system costs half as much for 20 percent less performance its a tough call.. I'd personally go for a 4090 if money wasnt an issue. 4090ti is what i'd bank on. 3 1 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

In a raster shoot out the 7900xtx is actually a decent card with ~4080 levels of performance and some of the games that favor AMD put it closer to a 4090 than a 4080. ryan
Yeah I know I was just throwing it out there. I would still go green as it has DLSS and frame generation in at least a few AAA games. and moving forward it will be more beneficial going green for the extra cash-ola with dlss and FG in question also I see it as relevant because I personally do not see RT as a benefit. more of a liability. cube maps have gotten so good over the years RT will only be worth it when the cost is low ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

AMD Locked Radeon RX 7000 Series Power Play Tables, Limiting Overclocking Overclocking expert @Buildzoid1 on Twitter recently shared a post discussing his frustrations with AMD's overclocking capabilities on the RX 7000 series. Apparently, AMD has locked power play table manipulation on its new GPUs, preventing enthusiasts from customizing power and frequency curves outside their official specifications. Yeah, when I saw this, that was the immediate end of me wanting the 7000 series. Changing the PPT's on AMD cards was one of their saving graces. I didn't need any HW mods on my 6800 XT or 6900 XT, as cooling was the only limiting factor...not power or voltage. I don't really want to sell the mobo/cpu because I love how many PCIe lanes it has, but I may be forced to do it. 1 A Change Is Gonna Come

Talon
Finally got around to rebuilding my living room rig with my Z690 Dark yesterday, flashed latest BIOS, but unfortunately still stuck with 7800 CL36 as max stable for my green PCB A-Dies. tps3443
I finally ordered some Koolance quick release fittings! I’m so excited to get them. I went with the male G1/4 quick release models that screw right in to the water block directly. And also the female 10/16 compression style will go right on my tubing. So they will hook up kinda like an impact gun, and an air hose lol. I ordered these for my Supercool direct die waterblock. I’ll be able to quickly remove it without much effort. I’m gonna add some to my GPU next, then my radiator, then my chiller, and even my water pumps lol. I figure it would be so nice to quickly be able to remove tubes and components without draining any water. It is expensive for (4) fittings which will cover only (1) component. 3 13900KF

As from my post above... I have still the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQ monitor in the package. A very good monitor from what I have seen in reviews. I have a few questions to the gamers... @Talon @electrosoft @johnksss This monitor I bought is an G-sync compatible. Not a real G-sync screen with the nvidia chips. I will pair it with an 4090. Is 1440P ok to use with the card or do I need a 4K screen to have benefits from 4090? Is 4090 overkill for 1440P? I expect newer games at 1440P 3 years down the road will tax 4090 more than with todays games. I feel 1440P may be the better choice for me. And above 30" is too big. Hence the questions. If you suggest 4K screen at 27-28", what screen to buy and with come with full G-sync. What 1440P 27-28" screen to select with full G-synk. Not only G-sync compatible. And of course refresh Rate at minimum 144Hz. Faster is better especially with 1440P. Or maybe you suggest that I keep the monitor I already bought. Got it for a very good deal... 449$ included the awful Norwegian tax. The price would be around 340$ without the taxes. I mean this a very great price. But lack full G-sync. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Second. I returned my MSI 4090 liquid X. I really liked the card, but prefer air cooling for a fast swap between different cards (my hobby). What to select. Not much choices of 4090 here home. And FE is a no go. Hence I'll ask for 3 options you would vote for. Not so sure the Zotac boat is the design I want. But put it in if you feel to do that. The best cooling is important. Thanks. 4K is nice with a big screen and 100% scaling. Only sucks on smaller screens and with scaling ovee 100%. But, I really like 1440p and that is a very good monitor you have. I think the G-Sync is a gimmick if your framerate is as fast or faster than the refreshrate above 120Hz. I doubt you would be able to tell a difference. I can't and have never been able to. I would say it boils down to deciding what you want to do and just do it because you want to. I suspect you will be happy either way. You will adjust (eyes and brain) to the new resolution and it will become the new normal in a few days. Although they are 1080p, I really like my curved monitors in a triple-wide array. It look me a short time to adjust to the curve, but going forward I only plan to purchase curved monitors. Especially nice with two or three because they will fit in a smaller space width-wise and once you adjust it is easier on your eyes and more ergonomically pleasing. If they were flat, I would not be able to fit the triple-screen setup on my desk. It would overhang the sides too much and interfere with placement of other things, including my mid-tower case on the right side and tall cabinet on the left side. Edge-to-edge is 54 inches. If they were flat the same array would be 63 inches wide. Huge difference in the amount of space flat panels would require and they would be harder to use for 10-12 hours per day. 1 hour ago, electrosoft said: But then there's this too: I noticed the delayed ship time, but also "free shipping today" and wasn't sure which was accurate. But, I'd be fine with waiting if it meant spending $300-$500 less and the shipping was free. It would give me time to sell other things to help stop the hemorrhaging of my wallet before I got billed for the frivolous self-indulgence. 3 1 WRAITH // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO (T-Rex) BANSHEE // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 (Rhinoceros) SPECTRE // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 48GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 (Rattlesnake) HALF-BREED // Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth | 32GB DDR4 | Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Nothing to Write Home About (Turdbook) Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. For a standard 2560x1440 170hz screen, 4090 is going to run into some CPU bottlenecks from time to time but frame rates will never be a problem for quite a long time and it will grow with several generations of CPUs till equilibrium is established. Specs wise, that looks like a really nice display. A 4090 will be situational overkill till with time it isn't. You will outlast your warranty before the 4090 becomes the problem. I used to say high refresh gaming was overrated but like I said before using my wife's 60hz old school 30" HP display (which I used for years) is painful now after using this 5120x1440 144hz display. Even switching back to my BenQ 4k 60hz G-sync display is noticeable. That chunk is nails on the chalkboard. I've turned into THAT gamer now (hangs head in shame). I want G-sync, to be able to sell it later in the used market. Easier to sell it for a good price. I buy new tech people want in the used market to reduce the loss. And I doubt I will save much money without it. I think 1440P is perfect. I have put up my sons system with the same monitor (we both bough the same due me wanted it and got the great deal). And jup, my son just had to listening on old pa, LOOL. And I really really like it. But then, he bought the weaker 3070 and not an 4090. I struggle to find monitors above 170hz in 1440P with or without G-sync. And most of the reviews of gaming monitors is with G-sync. Very high refresh monitors is mostly 1080P. And I won't go back to this. 1 hour ago, Mr. Fox said: Although they are 1080p, I really like my curved monitors in a triple-wide array. I hate curved screeens. I really really do. And the curved monitors with the special low but long design is awful. Have tested those in the shops. Huge nope from me. 1 hour ago, electrosoft said: For a standard 2560x1440 170hz screen, 4090 is going to run into some CPU bottlenecks from time to time but frame rates will never be a problem for quite a long time and it will grow with several generations of CPUs till equilibrium is established. I asked because many reviews say 4090 is a waste with 1440P. But I prefer monitors below 30" in size and 4K is probably worse to look at due my old eyes. Can't have everything in this world. 4K and easy to see all text. Even smaller details (in pict) etc will be a problem. Here is the different G-Sync screens Nvidia have on their page.... https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/ Me want only 27-29" and with G-sync and maximum high refresh at 1440P (4K). If I swap out the 1440P I have now it has to be with real G-sync or and with higher refresh rate. Same for 4K screen but minimum 144hz and real G-sync. If I can't reach those goals I will keep what I bought. And if the other monitor options will be too expensive then I will as well keep what I bought. 1 hour ago, electrosoft said: In order of 4090 cards now non FE: MSI Gaming Trio 4090 (Non OC edition) $1599 USD Gigabyte Windforce 4090 (Non OC edition) $1599 USD Asus Tuf 4090 (non OC edition) $1599 USD Why non OC editions?
