I'm not keen buy new expensive tech that probably performs worse than what I already have for my hobby. Yup, you'll get better Cinebench and mem bench results with the Core Ultra 9 285K, but this two benchmarks is just a couple of many. Both for 2D and 3D. If it perform worse in over half of the benchmarks... So why bother? Have already spent close to $20.000 USD this fall on different needed upgrades on Papusan's plaza before this winter. And we need new plissé curtains for the new windows and the gliding terrace doors. And in Norway that won't come for cheap. $500 for every single window plissé curtain and double up for the gliding doors. So I need to be sure I spend the money well for tech. Buy tech that won't be an good upgrade for me is bad spent money. Edit. It feels almost as Intel don't want sell their brand new processors and rather hope they can continue produce and sell Raptor Lake to make up better profits. Remember the TSMC Tile mess cost them more than produce yesterdays tech as Raptor Lake/Refresh in-house. They needed something new due the press hunting but prefer sell old and well proven. 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! Nothing in between, LOOL The 2 bin overclocking and limitations on the P-core for Arrow Lake, combined with the castration (no HT) make this release completely unacceptable and unforgiveable to me. Yes, 4-8 bin overclock of more E-cores is the lesser evil to me as well. But, my preference would be something that is actually awesome rather than a half-baked piece of crap like they have provided now. If we wanted half-baked crap there were already options available to settle for that before Arrow Lake. And, I don't care what they want to call P-cores and E-cores as long as they perform up to my expectations and there are enough of them. If they do away with hyperthreading then they need to double or triple the core count of whatever they decide to use. Mixing the core types is idiotic and unnecessary. They should pick one and go with it... make it all it can be. It is like an oxymoron to call something "Performance Cores" and then not provide enough of them to actually perform. It is kind of sadistic and hyperbolic to call something "Performance Cores" and then have them suck at overclocking and not provide enough of them to actually deliver meaningful performance. 2 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Yeah, I've officially decided to sit back and wait till Jan/Feb at the earliest if I decide to tinker with a 285k while a lot of the bugs/issues/problems are fleshed out. It will also let us clear the air for SP/bins as right now it looks like it is a reset of Alderlake SP ratings (giving newer chips on the same socket room to grow) and we're back to Sub 80s being bad and 90+ being good and probably ~96+ being golden. Prices will also come down a bit too. Hmmm, in hindsight this is what I did with 13th and 14th. 🙂 It will also give Intel a chance to clean up APO a bit with some more updates. This also gives a big window for 9000X3D chips to flex and see what they bring along with potentially getting ready for the 5090 seeing as it would cost $1300+ to get a 285k+MB+proper mem and we have no idea how much the 5090 is going to be. Final straw is this 14900KS is just running SO dang smooth @ 5.9 all core w/ APO on 24H2....I'm going to give the wife's system a clean 24H2 install and get APO up and running on her 12900k this week because she plays WoW even more hardcore than I do (crazy). She's been hooked since September of 2020 during the Pandemic and looking for a new game to play to pass the time....WELP....she found it! 🤣 One thing I see Jufes do is spin around real fast to cause the AMD chips to chunk. I could do that with my 7950X3D in certain areas that were asset and computationally heavy especially raids even only running the single X3D CCD. That is basically gone now with my setup. 4 Electrosoft Prime: SP109 14900KS | Asrock Z790i Lightning | MSI Suprim X Liquid 4090 | AC LF II 420 | TG 2x16GB 8200 | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | EVGA 1600w P2 | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED Heath: i9-12900k | EVGA CLC 280 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Asus Strix 3080 | 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | WD Black SN850 512GB | EVGA DG-77 | Samsung G7 32" 144hz 32" My for sale items on eBay. I have seen numerous people comment that they've cancelled their pre-orders because the 285K is a downgrade. I have never seen this many disappointed and salty people emerge during an Intel product launch. And it is justified. But the only way Intel is going to get the message from this is if they get punched in the nuts so hard they can't stand up straight for two weeks. These namby-pamby pathetic turdbook grade CPUs need to be rammed so far up their butt that surgical extraction is required. If not, maybe try Process Lasson and associate only E-cores with a game executable and see how performance changes? You cannot run on only E cores, check that day 1 lol. Of course I would have loved to do that testing because I love the odd tests. You can run 1P and as many E as you have. I will give Process Lasso another try, but it did not like when I began trying to force games on certain cores the other day. For now, even on my non-cleaned OS, standard 26100.2161 24H2, I've managed to somehow outscore all those with 285K with additional cores and higher clocks in TS CPU test. https://ibb.co/74yS623 3 1 Spoiler The Beast Asus Z790 APEX | Intel i9 13900K | ASUS RTX 4090 Strix OC | 64gb DDR5 7466 CL34 Dual Rank A-Dies | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | Innocn 4K 160Hz Mini LED HDR1000 | LG 27GN950-B 4K 160Hz | Corsair 170i Elite LCD 420mm AIO | Corsair 7000D | EVGA 1600w T2 Little Beast EVGA Z690 DARK | Intel i9 13900K | Nvidia RTX 4090 FE | 32gb DDR5 SK Hynix DDR5 8000 CL36 A-Dies | Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | LG OLED C1 4K 120Hz G-Sync/FreeSync | Alienware AW2721D 1440p 240Hz G-Sync Ultimate | Corsair 115i Elite 280mm AIO | Lian Li 011 Dynamic | EVGA 1000w P6

The black Apex Encore looks better by a lot and something about it seems better in ways difficult to pinpoint. That being said, I would keep the white Apex if for no reason other than I can use all of the NVMe slots without cutting the GPU back to x8 because there are no Gen5 M.2 slots. I really like being able to use the M.2 slot above the GPU and I cannot on the Encore because the idiots at ASUS made it Gen5. 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. I think one of the problems our industry is suffering from is unfortunately a problem with AMD, Intel and to some degree NVIDIA. None of the people making design and engineering decisions are true overclocking and performance enthusiasts and most are probably not avid gamers. NVIDIA is probably not as badly disconnected with the gamer community as Intel and AMD have proven to be, but they're all out of touch with overclocking enthusiasts. They release things that have some redeeming qualities that general consumers might find useful. But "features" that overclockers, and probably most gamers, do not care about and find unimportant or even counter-productive as it relates to their passions. Then they label it as "for gaming" and insinuate it is suitable for overclocking endeavors when it isn't actually great at either thing. In the case of X3D, good for gaming, but not great for many other things and poor at overclocking. Now the tiled mess from Intel. This happens because the people that made it are clueless, out of touch or ignorant as it relates to overclocking and/or gaming. So, it uses less power... well, whoopty-doo. 2 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. tps3443
I ordered another set of 128GB, 8x16GB G.Skill Ares Samsung Bdie 3200cl14-14-14-34. Same exact kit that I already have, I asked the seller if he could grab a kit that is sequential to my kits serial number, he showed like 12+ kits in-stock on Ebay so I figured maybe he has a sequential serial number to my kit, maybe a kit that counts up over mine, or before mine. Anyways then he said it was the last kit so I just ordered it, we will see what happens. This is going to be really cool though either way. I will have all 12x Dimm slots filled. 😬These platforms perform best with all twelve ram slots filled. Not really sure why that is, but okay! 😀 I am planning to water-cool all 12 sticks of ram next, and I am going to use these to accomplish this. They are old, but they will work! x6 ram water blocks are not very common. 1 2 13900KF

I have already said this before in older posts... They try fix power plan settings to make their own trash to perform correct for power savings/power efficiency. And forget power settings for Intel and AMD x86 chips. Same with new Windows versions/updates? Here's some food for thoughts. Or just the normal Microsoft continue screw up? There's something that smells bad. Honestly, in several years of benches, tests and releases, this is the first time we've seen processor launches so disrupted. This is also why we decided to postpone our " gaming " tests on Arrow Lake. We're not pro-Intel, but there are far too many inconsistencies in the results we have. What's really going on between Microsoft and the other PC players? Right now, we don't know: but objectively, something is wrong. Microsoft clearly has a hidden agenda from my point of view. Within this agenda, the arrival of a "home" ARM chip is undoubtedly a step. The hype on Qualcomm , but also some disruptions on the market in recent months are to be put into perspective with all this. This does not seem too far fetched to me. Micro$lop wants to sell their scummy disposable e-waste Surface turdbooks with soldered RAM and smartphone CPUs in them. Why would they give a rat's butt if the newest AMD and Intel CPUs worked correctly? The dumb-dumbs at Micro$lop do not care about Intel or AMD, and probably not NVIDIA. And, since most brand new computers run on a Winduhz 11 platform now by default (all prebuilts on top of what silly people elect to use for an OS) they essentially have no skin in the game and do not need to care if new processors function correctly as long as their cancer OS is the platform that gets chosen for it to run on. It is interesting the AMD was usually the brand hindered the most by sloppy OS coding and now that Intel has a glued-together mess they are having optimization problems, too. It also gives Micro$lop the power to decide what OS gets updates to make the new CPUs work right. If they do not want an AMD or Intel CPU to function correctly on anything other than their latest trashy OS they get to decide whether or not to provide an update for anything else. Better for them if the new tech is broken without their latest malware OS. 3 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes.
