Ended up buying a few things for the server:

4x10TB HGST SAS HDDs to run as parity drives

2x800GB MLC HGST SAS3 SSDs (with 15PB endurance) for write cache

Unraid Pro when it was on sale

 

Looks like I'll be putting together an unRaid server with a mixture of ZFS to better protect data.  I think the next upgrade for the server will be a Intel W680 or similar setup so I can run EEC DDR5, but that will be down the road.

An ORECK Upright Commercial Vacuum Cleaner was on sale last month.  It weighs only 9lbs (not including the cord)

 

There are a few things that make this Oreck "Commercial" XL2100RHL upright cost less than the more expensive consumer Orecks uprights.

 

This one doesn't have the middle handle on the upright tube (handy for carrying up and down stairs).

It comes with cheap paper vacuum bag (not filtered and definitely not a HEPA bag)

It doesn't have the headlights.

It doesn't have a "bag dock" adapter built in. 

It doesn't have the auto shutoff when it senses the motor is spinning faster than the roller brush.  *the more expensive models have an extra circuit board with a sensor that reads a magnet that rotates on the roller brush.  That is to prevent burning up a belt.  Mine doesn't have that.  I'll try to avoid shoelaces and tassels and ribbons etc on the floor.  I'll also have a few extra belts for backup.

It has a single speed switch while consumer models have two speeds (they have an added low speed for hardwood floors for example).

 

I added an Oreck "bag dock" for $12 USD and a 6 pack of Oreck Superior HEPA bags for $30 (the purple Oreck bags). 

 

The bag dock doesn't normally come with "Commercial" line of Oreck vacuums..  The bag dock is a plastic hinged adapter plate that better secures the inner vacuum bag to the air hole where the dust enters the bag.  Otherwise, without the "bag dock", as the bag gets full of debris and heavier, it could slip off the air-hole piece.  Definitely worth the $12.

 

When removing the full bag, a sliding trapdoor closes over the bags opening so that no puffs of dust escape from the hole when tossing it in the trash bin.   We added lavender scented fragrance pods to a little pouch in the outer bag.

 

It doesn't come with ANY attachments or "tools".  I'm planning to purchase the Oreck handheld canister vacuum which handles those types of duties.

 

It has a heavy duty 35' cord and it works great for our floors (wooden floors and regular medium shag carpet).  I actually look forward to vacuuming instead of letting the other person do it.  This thing has an old school vibe and replaces our broken bagless vacuum, *a popular hyped brand that begins with letter "D". I think bagless vacuums are glorified dirt devils.   I'm done with bagless vacuums.

Hah it's most certainly cheaper for me than my auto hobbies.  My handle comes from a fox-body mustang that I dumped way too much money into. After that I moved on the Subaru STIs and then on to trucks (although I really miss my 2007 STI limited).  When I have less money I typically work on PCs (or when it's cold out, lol) and if I happen to have a decent bonus it used to go to cars...

Yesterday Best Buy was running a special with the Xbox Series S for $249 with a free extra controller so I picked that up. I'll also pick up a new DVD player for the few times I watch movies. There are some upscaling ones for less than $30.

I bought an android app for 2 bucks called kill apps. It automatically when you press a button shuts down all opened or unnecessary system apps and normal apps so that you get better battery life. What's cool is it actually works after my week long test. Gaming with nice settings allows for just over 5 hours and web browsing texting and music is over 20 hours all this with the screen brightness turned down to half.

 

Mixed usage sot was 9 hours now its 11 hours 30 minutes....not bad for 2 bucks

Ryobi RY142300 electric pressure washer. Current one I own is a 1800psi 1.1gpm leaking one and doesn't really do much to help with the second floor of the house. 2300psi 1.2gpm should help a bit there.

Got a set of YMDK keycaps for my dad's Max Blackbird TKL he's had since 2013.

 

The Blackbird came with ABS OEM double shot shine through caps and it's been an awesome keyboard. But the caps have shiney spots. 

 

Cleaned it up last weekend and today i installed the YMDK PBT OEM double shot shine-through keycaps in carbon color scheme.

I miss my 2000 supercharged Integra LS/Vtec every day.  It was the 'funnest" car I have owned...Mustangs and SS camaros were a joke next to this rig.  I had the engine and supercharger fully modified by Endyn Engine Dynamics.  Had their Rods, pistons, cams, engine block cradle brace, head porting and the supercharger was extensively modified and pushing 22psi.

This is going to be my daily so I'll probably not ever break 7-9psi, not looking for anything more than 275whp. Should be plenty to make snap judgements on the road while already in the upper RPM range. My Base Auto before did well for low speed adjustments but high speed it always fell flat.

Mine was my daily too.  Endyn was magic at tuning and performance of the B series motors. I was the only one in eastern canada with their setup.  It was fun beating up on supercharged 5 litres during cruise nights ha ha.

Our old 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 is on its way out the door as the battery is rapidly discharging for no obvious reason so while it's still on sale for $279, I'm grabbing a second 64 GB 9th-gen iPad. The kiddo will get the one we bought last year, which still holds an insane battery charge, and the wife and I will pilot the new one.

BenQ Screenlamp Plus

 

And an acrylic work bench, tiny tools, and keyboard grease/oil for maintaining keyboard switches.  A small tool to quickly/easily separate switch housing.  I was considering lubing switches and maybe experiment with different springs, until I realized how small the inner parts are.  They are very small.  I'll leave them alone for now, but it is interesting to see the inner mechanisms.

That's the truth.  I definitely spent more than i planned already.  It is addictive.  I'd like to build a keyboard with wood case, and select and choose the parts in it, but it would be completely unnecessary, just fun.

12" surface cleaner for pressure washers. Used it to clean off the back deck and wow why haven't I bought one before? Have to work on the driveway and walkway next but this should cut down the time spent doing it by a lot.
