Some boring stuff in the past few months like a new (used) fridge for the garage, new washer, new-new fridge for the inside of the house.  But I had an unexpected turn of events with my Galaxy Z Flip3, and Sammy made me a very nice offer...so I upgraded:

I am a huge shed nerd.  What fridge did you get for out there?  I have to finish my shop again back to the way it was.  Clean and new.  I am going to get a red bull fridge from the local distributor.  Holds enough Bull and beer for a few night session down there building stuff!

We have a stackable washer unit now by fridgedaire.  We are replacing with the the new LG laundry center.  WAY better and quiet.

It was a Kenmore 18, used off of Craigslist, but in excellent shape.  The previous fridge was from 1976 and falling apart.  This replacement was manufactured 2008.  So it is a big difference.  I went with a Maytag washer for it's Pet Pro feature.  The washer definitely does not spin as fast as the old Maytag, but it is quieter and the pet hair removal feature does actually work.

Awesome. I have a master chef from Canadian Tire in my main shop. It's half sized, only needs to keep a few bottles of water and a couple dozen cans of beer cold for when I am working ha ha!

I somehow lost the dongle to one of my HyperX headsets so I picked up a Razer Barracuda V2. The company's claim of 50 hours of battery life seems pretty spot-on, and it doesn't require Synapse to fully function. Pretty good.

I've still been thinking about picking up a MacBook Air for casual use, but instead I went with a Lenovo Tab M9. Including coupon code, Rakuten cash back, and rewards points I've accumulated over the years, the total out-of-pocket cost will be less than $70. I'll be adding a keyboard case, which is around $30-35 from Amazon. This setup will be super portable and should do everything I would have otherwise needed from the Mac for around 1/8 of the spend.

bought the worlds cheapest lenovo laptop. ideapad 1 with the athlon 3050u/1366x768/4gb/128gb emc/15.6in/6 hours battery life. there was literally no reason to buy this but I just had to lol. want to see how much I can tweak it and ooze out the most performance. so far I have ram usage down to 1.4gb and atlas os on it with eso on tweaked settings and its pretty fast now, but stock no one in there right mind should buy it and not tweak it, it was stuttering at 1080p on youtube now it does 4k videos without any slowdowns. its really amazing what someone can do to a computer with the right knowledge

passed on the quest 3 this month. I just picked up a x360 chromebook by HP from best buy. mainly for geforce now gaming, just got a subscription to geforce now and I'm blown away, nearly instant loading and now its just as though my chromebook has a 2080 desktop in it. the image quality for the service has gotten so good over 5 years I not only was blown away but it astonished me that the lag is now offically gone, I noticed 0 input lag, it is so low that only the sharpest of people would notice it in a game like starfield or forza motorsport. I did the big test of trying forza to see how I fared in a race and I came in first and noticed no drawbacks, im never buying a desktop/laptop with a dgpu ever again, there is literally no reason unless a AAA game comes out that is not on geforce now I see no reason why!!

Sounds like a decent Linux/Mac gaming solution as well.

when I bought the subscription and no longer had to wait and was designated a 2080 I thought this is good but will I be able to game without lag, and how will it look. well I didn't get the 4k version but on my chromebook it was razor sharp and when testing forza iv'e come in first place twice with very good response times. what put me in a good mood is my internet has 100ms of latency and geforce now has 20-60ms i was thinking that the experience would be mediocre. just knocked my socks off.

yes linux and mac would work well with it, even though it works well with average internet latency i'd still only recommend it with fast internet(low ping)/high bandwidth >100mbs

Haven't tried it personally but, being on Mac now I've been paying attention to the macgaming Reddit, and it's a pretty common option offered up for playing games on Mac.  People seem to agree that it is the best choice for cloud gaming, offering better video quality and lower latency than Xbox Cloud Gaming, Boosteroid, or others.

Had to buy a new washer and dryer a couple weeks ago. They're IoT compatible, which I normally wouldn't be fond of, but it's proven to be rather useful. The dryer wouldn't get online at first, but it turns out literally just unplugging it and plugging it back in were all that was needed. Go figure.

I had also picked up an M1 MacBook Air. This was before the most recent product announcement so I'm going to take it back in favor of the top-end 14-inch M3 Pro. It's quite the jump in cost, but I really want to start playing around with things like the Game Porting Toolkit so I figured the extra CPU/GPU cores and 1 TB of storage were more or less necessary. Best Buy was also giving TotalTech members $100 off pre-orders so that was helpful.

Finally i got lucky with a price error in internet! Christmas came early for me. I had on my ebay watch list some Asus laptops from Asus store and they were doing some promotions for 2% 3% and so on and getting notifications about them on my phone, and after those notifications came a third from an Asus Zephyrus G15, and after some 10 seconds i see the price at 729 Euro, i didnt belive my eyes and opened the Ebay app and i see that price again and if i want to approve the Offer. I didnt think about it i just clicked approve and right away after i also paid in full. The guys at Asus or the ebay shop instead of reducing the price from 1800 Euro to 1729 they forgot to put a 1 in front so the price was only 729! I thought they will never deliver and just cancel the invoice like everybody does when a price error is but today the package came and wenn i opened the Notebook was inside with a invoice for 729 EUR.

So i got a Asus G15 2022 with R9 6900HS 32 GB Ram and a 3080! with 240 HZ for 729 euro instead of 1729! Im happy and i suppose ill sell my Z13 Flow and make some money aswell at the end! Its in white instead of black like it was advertised but i cant complain😀
