The taobao fans from thermalsabre are different. Where did you order yours? I used superbuy as my agent and then sent photos of the fans before forwarding them to the USA.

Yes!

The picture also features blade fans of such density and that's why I dared to order it directly...but it was a big mistake!

Seller only wrote back "new" 🤗

It's not! It comes from a demolished machine ... and not what is in the picture.

Right. And the price is too low as well. The real ones are 350 yuan each because they harvested the fans from Alienware 51m r2 and adapted them to the x170 housing with the proper header.

you did not follow the guide, it said it does not matter whether it's one or the other. Go for 7715 and install in safe mode. You can also do it manually by editing the 3080 reference in the nvcvig.inf file into 24DC.7714.1558

I chose and left that time because it was not good when rewritten. Written at 7714 was not good, so the 7715 remained.💪

ok, I think this settles it, ZTEC Prema x170s, while they require custom driver installations, DO support 3080 features like dynamic boost and Gsync, though doesn't it say "no" beside dynamic boost 2.0? Do some full load test and see via hw id if it really uses 165w

Congratulations @MaxxD GSync and 165W out of the box is fantastic!

And please let us know if in operation you really have GSync working and a power consumption of up to 165W.

With games I am not so sure if they will always pull that many watts but surely you could do a TimeSpy run as that definitely will go up to 165W if boost is working.

@MaxxD It's great that you found a solution. I think that G-Sync will work on an external monitor without any problems and with the basic version of the bios, do you have the opportunity to test this with a laptop screen? Regarding 165 watts, it is really necessary to check the consumption when the video card is under load by running one of the tests.

Video

I don't know how it is, but with HDMI 2.1 cable, the 4K 120Hz G-Sync (HDMI 2.1) had a G-Sync on TV, but the image blinks while connecting. MDP 1.4 to hdmi 2.1 cable is not g-sync, can it be because of the "bad" HDMI connector? It started again after a couple of blinking ... (Could be a contact error!?)

3DMark Steel Nomad test (no G-Sync, no 165W TDP...)

mDP 1.4 port was used.

Machine (my own display) has G-Sync I should see, there may be gpu boost (+15W) ???🤗😂

Oh, it is that stupid new benchmark - no idea what this means 😄

So for now it looks like there is neither GSync nor the 15W GPU boost but please try regular TimeSpy and only use the built in display to verify.

We have all used that before and it will be better suited for getting a good baseline.

I take it also that you are in some kind of high/maximum performance mode?

I saw his control panel. It has the option for gsync, unlike mine. But it said "no" beside dynamic boost..so there is that. Mine also says 165w but never pulls over 150.

Also 3dmark complains when you use gsync.

New 3DMark Bench 🙂

"Optimal" (Default) to CPU and GPU (mode)

The screenshots definitely show that the maximum consumption is only ~150W (149,3) and the card does not work at full power using turbo boost. Try to use only the laptop screen, it doesn't seem to me that something will change in this case, but suddenly.

Now I only use the laptop display and no G-Sync.

There was a machine restart, no G-Sync. (this feature has disappeared) 😗

As I assumed earlier G-Sync will work on an external monitor without any problems and with the standart version of the bios, does the card also refuse to work at full power of 165 watts? This is actually more important to get.

I think it also amounts to how he installed the drivers, using, technically, the wrong ID address. Pfudaniel has ztec with prema and he edited the nv_dispig.inf using the 2206 template under "3080" and edited 24DC.7714.1558. He definitely has gsync with 4k screen. Dynamic boost though, no idea.

I'd go with Normal. As @Bidelloman says there does not seem to be GSync anyway with those benchmarks but it will be interesting to see if it pulls more than 150W power, probably not. On the other hand even with 150W scores should be higher than the 2080s even with only 150W.

Now, with a direct DDU, I covered the NV driver (Full) and reinstalled it in reduced mode and no G-Sync.

But I can't specify the card ID at NVClean because it's not in the list so I can't choose it. I rewrite the INF file in vain because the installation fails. Then what is the solution?🤗

You gotta edit the inf file to get that address. Nvcleanstall uses appdata local temp folder. Find the infs there
